The food here was unreal! The people are great and the environment is incredible! Ask for the Bahn mi(I think that’s how you spell it) sandwich that’s not on the normal menu.

I recently came here with my SO and our out-of-town friend for lunch. Its location is convenient if you’re tasting on 46W because you don’t have to leave the immediate area in order to get a good meal. I ended up ordering the tritip. It’s a little different than your standard tritip because the meat is sliced very thinly. This did not take away from the experience of the meal at all, actually. The meat was extremely tender, succulent, and juicy. It’s definitely different than the thick cuts of meat you usually find but I thought it was excellent anyway. My friend’s mac and cheese was also delicious, and my SO loved the tuna sandwich. I’m definitely coming back the next time I’m on the 46.

Chef Jeffry is awesome! I love having a great food option on the Westside. They are now open Thursday-Monday. I’ve enjoyed everything there, especially the quesadilla. Chef Jeffry’s food and Grey Wolf wine is a win-win.

We are so lucky to have this place on Hwy 46 W. The chef is one of the best in town. He wins almost every competition he enters. One of his big winners is his«Paso Mac and Cheesesteak» garlicy, cheesy mac with smoked sirloin, onions and peppers. The tuna sandwich Provencal is my other favorite. He used to manage a very popular wine bar in town, so he is excellent at pairing his food with the wine offerings. The staff is always friendly. Keep in mind, it is a window /counter service. But you can’t get a better setting than the patio among the vines. Only open on the weekends, check their Facebook page.

Do yourself a favor during your day of Paso wine tasting — visit the Barton/Grey Wolf winery and saddle up to this window for a KILLER lunch! BF and I were making the rounds on the 46 stretch of Paso Robles wine country, and hunger grabbed us when we pulled into Barton, and we gratefully parked when we saw their road sign saying lunch was served. A quick perusal of their menu and my all-day craving of some tasty barbecue shaped our lunch beautifully as we ordered their pulled pork sandwich and the Paso Mac & Cheesesteak to share. We were told about 10 minutes to wait, so we continued our tasting inside — our pourer reassured us that(I assume) Jeffry knew to pop into the tasting room with orders if no one was nearby. And as our order was called, our pourer graciously offered my final pour and encouraged us to take it outside and enjoy our lunch on their patio with a spectacular view, and we could settle up in the winery once our meal was done. What service! Both dishes were absolutely gorgeous and generously plated. A little steep at $ 10 — $ 11 each, but the quality and quantity were definitely there — this was restaurant quality food served al fresco. At first I was a little sad to see the pulled pork sandwich didn’t have much BBQ sauce on it but I shouldn’t have been — exquisite smoky flavor and tender pork! The mac & cheese was killer too — made with shell pasta which just makes me feel like a happy little kid, with a creamy cheese sauce and thin slices of steak. Like no mac you’ve ever had! I feel like we stumbled on one of Paso’s best kept secrets! I guarantee we’ll be lunching here again on return trips, I’m so glad we found a reliable spot for great food, tasty wine, a beautiful view and wonderfully kind people!

After a few hours of driving and wine tasting at a couple of spots, my gf and I were dying of starvation. Leaving the Sextant winery and before getting back onto highway 46, we read a sign not only promising even more wine tasting, but delicious food as well. We both read that sign and were immediately sold. This little piece of foodie heaven is located right behind the Grey Wolf tasting room. The sandwich board menu out front promised many delicious sounding options, including our two choices: The Wine Country Pulled Pork Sandwich and Paso Mac & Cheesesteak. Every bite of the sandwich was like biting into the most amazing BBQ pulled pork sandwich, without the mess of too much sauce. The pork was melt in your mouth good, and the thin slices of pickled red onion was like the cherry on top. Getting that amazing pickled flavor without taking it too far. A tasty coleslaw is also present on the sandwich. You also get a pickle spear and a handful of potato chips to go with it. I’ve had good Mac & Cheese and great Mac & Cheese, and the Paso Mac & Cheesesteak falls into the latter category. A hefty portion of mini shell pasta, slathered in garlic Provolone cheese sauce, tender slices of sirloin steak then tossed with onions and peppers. It’s a tasty, creamy, gooey, cheesy hot mess that you can’t stop eating, and will be sad when it’s gone. The service was friendly and fast. The patio space is shared with the wine room, so you can enjoy an incredible view, with incredible food, and incredible wine. A highly recommended stop for anyone passing through the Paso Robles wine country.
