Found this deli on Unilocal while traveling. Although it was difficult to find, we are so glad we did. The pastrami sandwich was delicious, the meat tender and juicy. The roll was so soft and fresh. The best part of all was the friendliness of everyone. They even gave us handwritten directions back to the highway when we told them how confusing the directions were we had gotten off of Unilocal. She said other customers had told them the same thing the day before. When we were leaving, she brought out a bag with their homemade cookies for the road. At the bottom of the directions she had written safe travels We highly recommend this establishment for the hospitality as much as the delicious sandwiches. You will be pleased!

I’m a local and though I’d seen this place on Unilocal,I hadn’t tried it out until a few months ago. It’s in a small industrial area and appears to cater primarily to business personnel/workers. My sandwich was good — fresh ingredients, nice balance of bread to meat. But honestly, it was just a basic sandwich. The wait was fairly long despite coming in after the lunch hour rush when there were only a couple of other customers. I ordered«to go.» I edited my review after the owner emailed me via Unilocal expressing her disappointment. Although I still feel the same about my sandwich, I did make a point to call out some of what was good. The owner offered me a free sandwich and seems genuinely interested in keeping customers happy. If I worked near this deli, I would definitely go back. And perhaps I will again if I’m in the neighborhood.

Best sandwich place we have ever been too. It is now our go to place on our travels to the coast. The bake goods are phenomenal.

Nice little sandwich shop in a location with a patio that really needs sandwich shops for all the industrial workers in the vicinity. Friendly, beautiful staff makes pretty good traditional sandwiches and some interesting new ones that aren’t bad at all(try the cranberry turkey melt).

Great little deli, just off of the 101 in Paso Robles. Had the Killer Club and a chocolate chip cookie… both very good! Inside was very nice… plenty of room to enjoy. Recommended for a quick stop on a road trip… check the hours though.

This deli is a gem. I was greeted immediately with genuine friendliness, and asked if I had any questions regarding the menu. The sandwich came out quickly despite being busy and was loaded with delicious meat and condiments. The sandwich was even accompanied by a complimentary cookie, which let me tell you… Was delicious. This deli may be slightly out of the way, but the prices are great, the quality is there and the service can’t be beat.

I love supporting local businesses that have a passion for their craft and FBD does not disappoint. As for the food, I don’t have a picture because my husband ate his so fast! He had a custom pastrami and roast beef on a French roll with the works. He was very, very happy and he’s a sandwich snob. Because I’m a follower, I went for the most popular, the Killer Club. It was… killer! next time I’ll forgo the 3rd piece of bread or get it on a French roll. I also had the mac and veggie salad which was perfection. We finished off our order with 2 chocolate chip cookies that definitely DO live up to the hype. 2 giant delicous sandos, 1 mac salad for 2 and 2 chocolate chip cookies for less than 20.00-yes, please! Now, if only I could figure out how to get there more often. :)

Had the French Dip with pickle spear on the side. Exactly what you want on a cool spring day. Plus the chocolate chip cookie was good and cakey.

It’s a little off the beaten path if you are a tourist or just passing through, like we were, but it’s worth the few minutes to get there. Friendly, clean, quick, with nice fresh breads for the sandwiches and a great assortment of baked goodies. Patio seating available and plenty of easy parking.

Delis don’t get any better than this. Food is amazing(!!) and shop is clean. The BLT with a side pickle is off the charts good, and add a chocolate cookie and you’re set. I make it a point to get this when i have company over for lunch because of the WOW factor. The side salads are good too. It’s all simple food done right.

Boy found this amazing stop for lunch. There was so much home-y-ness and comfort when you walk in. The board has pictures of the staff and family, which was super sweet. Boy had the Fat Guys’s French Dip and I had the Bearcat. Both were big meat-filled sandwiches! The food was so delicious that we ordered the pomegranate chipotle turkey breast along with cookies to go. The staff was so sweet and patient as I decided which cookie to have. When I ordered the chocolate chip cookies, they packed two from the fresh batch. Super thoughtful of them! I highly recommend this place for all the drivers on highway 1!

I really liked this place. The sandwich choices were tasty(I had The Captain). The cookies were THEBEST chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever had in my life. It has a «small town» feel to it inside, like you’re in someone’s home almost. The location is odd but it’s fine as long as it isn’t too crowded. My only complaint, and the reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars, is the fact that they’re only open Monday-Friday. I would gladly come here on weekends, but they aren’t open! A lot of people won’t be able to make a trip here if they only have the weekends off work. If you don’t work all through the week, I’d definitely recommend checking this place out.

BEST deli in Paso! Quality Ingredients make for delicious sandwiches and salads! Baked good are to die for!!! Even the spiced chai iced tea is a hit! Lunch here once a week it’s seriously so so good! My only wish… that they were open on weekends and evenings… it’d be my go to for hot summer or weekend night dinners!
