My asada burrito at taco de Mexico was half the price and nearly twice the size as a burrito from tortilla town. Just saying

Let me just start off by saying that the best tacos I have ever had were from a street vendor in Encinada Mexico. Tortilla Town tastes almost exactly the same! The meat is so tender and fresh. Speaking of fresh, the tortilla dough is made fresh daily. Speaking of speaking, I wish I knew more Spanish! The Al Pastor is amazing, especially when combined with the salsa verdi. Only one complaint and it’s a tiny one: The salsa roja is kind of bitter. Otherwise this place is awesome!

Anyone within 20 and 21 miles should consider this a must stop taqueria. Affordable prices, enthusiastic staff and a simple menu make for a pleasant experience. The décor was unique however did not detract from the atmosphere. I would give my bathroom extrusion 7⁄7. The music playing added to the overall enjoyment of my time in the bano. There are a plethora of options for Mexican cuisine in the Paso Robles area and I am extremely satisfied with my choice in Tortilla Town. P. S. Make sure you order the guacamole. GUACAMOLE!

I ordered a bunch of things here and it’s all ok except for the barbacoa. The barbacoa is awesome. Would definitely come back here just for this-but this only.

This place is going to give my love for Habaneros a run for their money! This is hole in the wall Mexican food at it’s finest. Before coming here I was told that their food was like Chipotle’s and very expensive. So I brushed off the idea of trying their food out for a whole year. Until yesterday. Hey, good mexican food cravings can be unreal sometimes. The set-up is very similar to Chipotles and the options of type of meal is very limited. Burritos, tacos, salads, quesadillas with a selection of meat and bean options plus additional condiments: cheese, salsa, cilantro, sour cream, guacamole. What makes Tortilla Town stand out is the quality of their ingredients and the extra special care from the cooks in creating truly delicious, perfectly spiced meals. What makes Tortilla Town special is not only the interior of the restaurant(the owners created a very home away from home look) but the employees. They were fantastic! I wish I had paid more attention to their names because they got the preparing the food down the line look easy peasy(and we all know it isn’t!) Oh, and their guacamole should be considered a national treasure. This right here is what puts them one step above my love for Habaneros. It was creamy and spicy in all the right ways. tl;dr: great quality food, attentive and quick customer service, personalized decorations in restaurant interior that really creates a visual atmosphere of the food.

One of our guests(Union Road Guesthouse) brought back a burrito from this place. It was too large to eat at one sitting so she cut it in half and wrapped up ½ for us. We tried it the next day and WOW! Great burrito! We like the freshness of the ingredients and the salsas(a bit on the spicy side, but I like that). This place is every bit as good and probably even better than Chipotle.

As soon as we walked inside we got greeted«Guacamole»!!! Heck, even the white workers in here got into some Guacamole tongues with such joy. We didn’t come here for the Tortillas, we came here for the Gorditas. The Gorditas come in threes. You choose your meats and choice of salsa. They come in Corn Mesa shells, romaine lettuce, cheese and sour cream. My choice meats were: Pollo Asado — Grilled chicken marinaded in adobo spices. This was probably my least favorite. The meats were dry but it had a little bit of flavor. Carne Asada — Grilled steak marinade with cilantro lime juice. The carne asada was okay. I couldn’t taste it too much. I think the cilantro lime bland it out. Barbacoa — Marinated beef with garlic, oregano, and adobo spices. This was the best choice out of the three flavors. It tasted flavorful and the meat texture was good. Salsa choice: Tomatillo Green Chile. It’s medium, I really like jalapeño chile verde sauce, so I went with this one. Indeed, this place prepares your meals like Chipotle. But, overall their meat offerings are okay, nothing too special. I felt that the grilled choices were a bit on the dry side. The added guacamoles and sour creams are good backups for flavor on some the their meats. Nice cozy place to dine-in when not busy, and the decors inside are really cool. I liked the hanging laundry on the ceiling. It’s located in a very small strip of eateries in Paso Robles. This area is where I like to call it a rest stop before heading out to the beach cities.

Love this place, but it’s up to YOU to make it good. Here’s my tips: –Burritos(are the best with their fresh tortilla) –Pinto Beans & ½ scoop of rice.(A full mounded scoop kills the burrito) —Chicken or Al pastor(are the only good ones and the al pastor is the best) —-Cilantro, Onion, Guacamole, 2 scoops of Red Sauce. (optional) sour cream or pico de gallo. Never add cheese. It ruins it. Game over… Seriously, it’s something weird about their cheese. Everything else here is okay and i’ve been coming here off and on since it opened in like 2007 or 2008. It wasn’t until my Mexican father-inlaw showed me how to order that i became hooked. Totally beats Chipotle’s for authenticity and flavor.

Favorite place in Paso for a burrito. Great atmosphere with all the décor. This place puts Chipotle to sham! Make sure to get a grilled jalapeño on the side to spice it up.

Based solely on the Unilocal reviews, we tried Tortilla Town Saturday night(8−29−15). After checking out their limited and basic menu, we opted for their three tacos. One Carne Asada, one Barbacoa and the last was Chicken. After cutting each taco in halves, I sampled all three tacos with both their green and red sauces. I wasn’t impressed with two of my three tacos for one reason or another(lack of flavor, seasonings or texture) but, their Barbacoa meat was definitively one for the books. Packed full of flavors and moisture, this meat and its heartiness you can normally only from being«home made» cooked. It’s text euro was kinda like a really thick beef stew in a thick gravy. Tortilla Towns interior décor is a sight to see too.

Absolutely saddened and disappointed… I will never be back and I urge others to stay away! Nothing angers me more than the blatant disrespect of law enforcement… The other day a couple Sheriffs came in to order a late dinner… The staff told them they were CLOSED! The restaurant was clearly open, others were in line and other patrons were still eating! Cannot believe they turned them away, disgusting… Tortilla town should be ashamed of themselves and their staff…

Don’t know how authentico it is because I’m not Mexican but it sure tastes delish. Fresh tortillas & tasty salsa & guacamole. Across from fairgrounds, In a touristy area of Paso so the prices are higher than some locals’ hangouts but the food’s good. We order takeout meat/tortillas 2X a month. Buy it in bulk & save $$.

The subway of Burritos and Tacos. That appears to be the model of their service and production. All the parts for Mexican food creations are there, at least for tacos, gorditas and burritos. The service is very nice and the choices are many. Watch the add-on costs for cheese, guacamole, and sour cream, lest you will have an over 10 dollar burrito! Nice Staff, cute décor, small location and tight quarters. A fancy fast food place for sure.

I’m not sure if it was because I was craving Mexican food, but I didn’t expect to be so impressed with the food here! The lady in front of me(a regular, I presume) suggested the off-the-menu nachos, which were yummy. I paired it with carne asada and all the fixings. I didn’t realize that a grilled jalapeño would be an extra charge, which seemed a little silly, but whatever. My mom got a burrito and she really liked it too.

I have been going here for years. It’s kinda pricy but always good. I always get the burrito bowl. A majority of The time they fill the bowl full to overflowing with goodies. Tonight it was barely half full. 2 bowls was $ 26 with extra cost guacamole. For this price I got ripped off. They guy might have been new but the veterans checking us should know better and not let us leave with half our food. Keep it up and I’ll keep away!

The format is just like Chipotle. You choose taco, burrito, salad or gordito. Choose your meat and they assemble your meal in front of you. I wanted to try the gordito because it is an item not available at Chipotle. My order of gorditos had 3 toasted corn muffins stuffed with pork, lettuce, pico, and sour cream. I could not taste the meat because corn muffin was too overpowering. The taste was pretty good overall but I would ask for double meat. I think I will get tacos or burritos if I happen to stop by again. Best part about Toritilla Town is it’s location at the junction of the highway 46 and the 101 freeway. It makes for the perfect stop on a road trip though California’s central valley.
