What a dump. Don’t charge covers if you have nothing to offer. Who charges covers anyway? With so many bars to pick, why the hell should I pay to walk through your door, especially when no one is even there. Get it together Loop Lounge.

Loop lounge WAS awesome. What the heck happened after the reopening? Not good. Drinks are watered down and bar tender used cheap alcohol. I came here a few nights ago with a group of friends and they all were upset with the drinks. For a $ 10 cover, maybe offer higher grade alcohol for the mixed drinks! Why did this renovation take so long? It was not very impressive. Also the music sucks now. It’s a totally different vibe. Maybe that’s what management wanted but I don’t see myself or my friends coming back here.

Honestly the one star review on this page are irrelevant to the current business model. They have moved from accommodating niche subcultures of the late 80s and 90s and has updated itself to provide a platform for those more sincere genres of electronic music that don’t get much play in the pig stye that is the pop club scene in Nj. The size of the venue makes it perfect for these types of shows and the crowd that is drawn is actually really nice and makes attendees feel quite comfortable. I have never been more pleased with the hospitality service and, above all, culture that this venue offers. The staff take no bs and are not shy to remove those in attendance whom truly making a nuisance of an extremely well managed and well designed bar. As far as bars go I was impressed. They have two bars one when you walk in(with bar stools, idk what that other reviewer was talking about) and the first bar is separated from the area where the acts play, in case you want a break from the action. The bar inside the venue itself is a tad bit bigger and is designed for quick and efficient service. The beer selection was great(had dales pale, dogfish head 60 minute, founders all day ipa etc…) as well as the mix drinks(had a couple gin and tonics and they use Bombay sapphire which evidences the fact that they know what they’re doing) All in all I had one of the best Saturday nights I have had in a while. Even spent a good amount of time having a great conversation with a guy whom worked there whom I’m pretty sure turned out to be the owner, and honestly the sincerity, care and fore-thought that provides the foundation of this business and its operation is reason alone to check it out(keep track of upcoming events I’m sure you’ll find something you’ll like especially if your 21 – 30). That being said even those whom are within the demographic of people that this place catered too before renovation, if you come with an open mind the atmosphere will open up too you and I guarantee you’ll have a good time.

-$ 10 cover for an empty club. –The guy collecting the cash had an attitude(you’re not in NYC, man). –Once they played Pitbull in the second room… it was time to get the hell out.

I used to love the Loop Lounge. But things have really changed with this renovation. Visually, there is no character anymore. The front room is too sparse and bright. The music in the back room is terrible. It used to be much more fun alternative stuff, now it’s very generic house music. Last Saturday night, you could see people really wanted to dance and they just weren’t into the music. There was a maximum of maybe six people on the dance floor at its busiest, and maybe twenty people lurking nearby who seemed to want to dance but did not. The DJs did not know, or care, how to read this crowd. I am hoping it will get better because I really missed Loop when it was closed, and I hope we can have a little of the old Loop back again.

What happened to this place? Such a let down after the reopening. Nothing like it was, new staff, bad set up inside, and it feels like they are going for something they are not. The bouncers were rude and really a cover $ 10 cover for an empty club? This isn’t a real club so why the cover charge. You pay 10 to 20 for a club in NY. I’d rather go there and pay a cover. There isn’t much to say, it’s just not what it was. Why not change the name? Very disappointing, I was excited for the re-opening. They are trying to change the vibe and it just doesn’t work for the middle of Passaic. They changed somethings around inside and it’s really bright inside… weird. No where to park either. They lost their relationship to the surrounding businesses so it’s street only if you can find it! I don’t recommended this place and doubt it will be open much longer.

I’m so disappointed with the reopening of the Loop. It use to be amazing, laid back and the music was great. It was not worth the cover of $ 10. It’s like the bar is trying to be something it’s not. The staff was rude and I felt like I was causing a disservice to them by being there. The bouncer was unprofessional. Such a shame. This place used to be my fav.

Disappointed in the new layout. They spent nearly 2 years renovating the place and to me it just doesn’t seem like an improvement. The character of the original loop experience is all gone. This weekend was the grand re-opening but with nothing special even being offered. I really dont know what was done here to warrant being closed for 2 years, unfortunately. I will update my review in the future and hopefully have a better experience. No coat check, no coat hooks, no bar stools/chairs or ledges in the front or back. No atm, no juke box and no lighting behind the bar at all. Cmon guys, I hate to sound this negative of a place i used to love so much but honestly right now there isn’t much drawing me back. Hope that changes soon.

I had some awesome times here years ago. I totally miss your 80’s night with videos on the wall. My only bad memory was feeling like I wanted to rescue the guard dog kept outside at the impound yard down the street. Sooo are you reopened? NYE is right around the corner…

This was a good place to see live bands. The crowd there looks very young. The drinks are okay and not too expensive. The bathrooms are very unclean even for a club.

This place has been closed for a very long time. Hey loop, update your website saying you are closed and if you ever plan on reopening make sure you stop tampering with the liquor.

This is my favorite hang out in jersey. 2 atmospheres: you walk into small bar area with a DJ. Very good music & not oppressively loud(you can talk). Bartender Aimee is the best. Back room is big, with a dance floor and DJ(bands til 11 on Saturdays). Usually good tunes and they have some good beers at loop. My favorite is the Hacker-Psorr. Only drawback is the sleazy bathroom(I can only tell you about the men’s for obvious reasons). Pretty skeevy. Still love this place though. Good alternative, 80s pop, NIN, Prodigy type tunes on Saturday. Unfortunately as I write this, the Loop is closed up. Here’s hoping it opens up soon… fingers crossed.

The good I’ve played here a few times. As a music venue it’s very good. Decent sized stage for a small club. Sounds is always really good. Drinks are cheap. The bad This place is flithy. Bathrooms look like they haven’t been cleaned since the 80’s. Don’t wash your hands. They’ll be cleaner if you don’t touch the sink. Bring your purell with you.

Loop lounge is great! While it’s not nearly the best lounge/bar out there it still remains my favorite and most frequented. The music changes depending on the day– but is almost always good! I love the bar section that is separated from the lounge because they’re almost always playing indie dance. This is a bar you can dress super casual or get a little glitzed up for. There are many different walks of life here and you will probably never feel any thing but welcomed by all whether that means the bartenders, the djs, or the hanging out! Liquor and beer is fairly cheap here and there are always specials running. Bartenders are super sweet, especially Amy. What are you waiting for? Come to loop and dance like a fool and have fun doing it!!!

If you’re looking to get smashed, forget your night, get sweaty and keep some $$ in your pocket. get your booty over here. Thursday nights are where its at. $ 4 LITs and $ 440 oz. You can’t beat that crap and theres also dub step blasting. It gets super duper packed… mostly with sweaty, smelly dudes. But there is a small stage where drunk chicks get up on and start dancing a little freaky and end up giving the whole place a free show.(yes I’m guilty!) The font end of the bar is my fave tho, its really dark. with fish tanks. and really good music playing most of the time. Generally, the drinks are cheap. They have specials almost every night! Sundays are good to come here too. Beware of the bathrooms, they’re so nasty! hold it and go outside!

I wanna go back again for sure. It was pretty quiet the night we went, but we still managed to dance like a bunch of maniacs who were super nostalgic over the 90s and couldn’t let go of N*Sync and System of a Down. And Backstreet Boys. «Oh man, you guys need to come back on a Thursday!!!» The bartender told us to come back on a Thursday. I think because it’s busier and we were acting a fool. Probably? Drinks are super cheap and the dance floor is a decent size. The bathroom has a personality, but it’s sketchy… which, all bathrooms with a personality are. It’s divey and dark with black lights and an attitude. Don’t come here if you are looking for that 90210 atmosphere. Or Teak in Hoboken or Pacha in NYC. You will break out in hives from the lack of 1 dimensional patrons.

You want to step back in time, come out to the Loop! You’ll feel like you’re 21 again! Unfortunately, one thing will make you feel your current age: the music! It leaves much to be desired! What happened Loop? How do you advertise«new wave» and«80’s» and then go and play terrible music from 1997? Case in point, that Chumbawamba song, I Get Knocked Down. I mean, really? And not just that one song, but a bunch of songs that sound just like that song that had no business entering anyone’s ears in the late 90’s and definitely shouldn’t be played again today. Why I actually still come out here despite what I wrote above: –cheap drinks($ 2.50? yes please, I’ll have another!) & friendly bartenders! –to dance to every 10th song(that’s about how often I actually get to hear what I like!) –meet up old friends and always make a new friend or two!

I used to come here eons ago… holy shit, its like nothing’s changed. I like $ 2.50 Kettle 1 and sodas. I like 80’s, 90’s, alternative, hip hop, and new wave music. I like hangin with homeboys in tanktops blasting bass from their wips at 2 am. I like dark divey spots with blacklight artwork on all the walls. I like places where there are curvy white girls that would probably. nay, definitely… take me home if I looked in their direction. I didn’t like taking my date to this mecca of «everything different and non-mainstream»…I FUCKIN loved it.

Time to finish this post… Awesome hospitality from the owners, friend and new people I meet. 16 years going here on and off. Always a great time… Got to get to the loop, you will love it… Still love this place even after not being able to get there as much as I like… I now get here as much as I can. Non bias place. Been accepted by all…
