HORRIBLE + AWFUL = HORRAWFUL! where do I start? The service was by far the WORST customer service in the restaurant industry. Our waiter could of pursue a good career as a Magician, because she was disappearing all the damn time. Also you might as well bring your pillow and blanket, because the food takes forever to come out. Really? it takes an hour for chicken fingers to be made. We also ordered the nachos with steak, and the whole platter dried up, it looked like it has been sitting in the kitchen waiting to be picked up, then again where was the waiter, disappered within thin air… smh. Another thing that ticked me off was the tip. They had the nerve to automatically charge you a 15% tip, are you serious. I was inches away to rip the waiter a new one, but I decided not to make a scene and keep it moving. I’m never return nor should you. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE PEOPLE ITS FOR YOU OWN GOOD.

Food ok nothing special, drinks are overpriced. They add a service charge of 15% so whether you get a good service or not you’re still leaving a 15% tip. I wouldn’t come back

I love the food. I tend to go for the lunch specials and many times after work. I only rated it 4 stars because not all of the staff is friendly. Overall, I love going here to grab a bite.

I been to this location several times and it was good, but today the server was never around the table if there was a problem, we order some chips with steak, (came out with chx), my beer was cold when got to the table. and she was more worried about her phone and the gossip with the hostest.
To make it worse, my girl was nervous to call the waitress for something because she was too busy gossiping instead of keeping an eye on her table.

Service at this restaurant is absolutely HORRIBLE! Even when the restaurant is empty with 6 employees, the food takes forever to come out! I asked for boneless wings for my boyfriend because they had it in the menu and instead received regular wings. The man who brought them out didn’t speak a word of English and kept saying with an attitude @sorry we don’t have that” I ordered nachos as an appetizer and got it 25 minutes later along with my meal. the nachos also had beans on it which was not stated in the menu.
The employees at this facility are extremely rude and have low customer service skills.

Went there for lunch with a group of 8. Place empty but food took over 30 minutes. (Lunch sandwiches). Good lunch special prices but food was below average and all the rolls were stale. Will not be returning.

I was in Paterson for a week-long work assignment and had trouble finding a restaurant within walking distance, other than McDonald’s. I was close to giving up when I came across El Mexicano. I didn’t expect much, and was pleasantly surprised to find that the food wasn’t bad and the price was right. The lunch special was around $ 6 – 7, and I tipped $ 2+ for a total bill of $ 10.
I ordered the grilled fish fillet with black beans, house salad, and yellow rice. I liked the fish and the rice. The house salad was just a plain salad, nothing special. I ate two bites of the beans and stopped because they were so salty. The lunch special also included a soda, but their soda machine was broken so I just had water.

I work in the area, and have been here a few times.
The décor is great and the service, while a little slow is not bad. The lunch specials are a great deal. The food is real good, we always leave here satisfied.
I will be back, and I recommend for anyone in the area.
