It is that townie/old man bar that you should be going into. The pluses abou this place are the live music, the prices, and the cheap bowling alley upstairs. This bowling alley belonged in the movie The Shining, it was creepy, eerie and old. But i like that stuff so i didnt mind. for $ 12 n hour for a lane, you can bowl and bowl and bowl all you want. The food is all over the place, and seems like some of it is cooked. The pierogi are good, and apparently the vodka sauce is home made too. prices are just right, and theres even a parking lot. I wouldnt spend my whole night here, but this is a perfect way to pregame or a place to end up at wasted at 2 am.

Friday night was a great time at Paul’s. Bowling with old friends and celebrating Kathy’s birthday, it doesn’t get any better than this! Tina is a friendly, hard working bartender, always taking care of her customers. Gary and Eddie handle the food service. Our group tried a wide variety from the menu: turkey chili, bacon cheese burger with jalapeño’s, pierogies, grilled cheese — WOW! All were served fresh and hot off the grill. Can’t wait for our next Bowling night in October, great place to hang out. Also, they have live bands each week.

Service is so slow on Saturdays. I’ve been waiting 15 minutes to order a drink & wings! Fail!

Paul’s Bar and Bowling is a town bar filled with locals. We went to see our friend’s band play in the small space they provided. Couldn’t believe the bar area was filled(and most of the locals didn’t know there would be love music). It took forever to get a beer. No matter how many times the bartender and manager walked past, they wouldn’t make eye contact. They were more interested in cleaning the counter and the glasses in the sink. Prices were average for a tap beer and forget about getting a second one. We didn’t try the food as we were going out afterwards. But being a dive bar, I wouldn’t expect much. What I did like was the four bowling lanes in the back. They seemed to be well maintained although nobody was using while we were there and am not sure if they do get used on a regular basis. But it was still cool to see them.

Came here on a whim on a Saturday night a few months ago, and what a great time! The staff was incredibly friendly, and accommodating. The drinks & were well priced. But the star of the show was the absolutely awesome historical completely vintage bowling alley! Overall it was a super fun night. Based on the staff alone I will be back for sure :).

We recently moved to New York and I’ve wanted to come here since seeing the show. Eddie gave us a very in-depth tour and spent a couple hours talking to us. These guys are so nice! Wings are good, beer is cheap, Tina’s fries may have gone back to the original recipe… not sure, but they were a huge portion, drowning in gravy, and not crispy. I genuinely want these guys to do well, I hope Eddie can polish out some of the remaining issues. :)

Came here on a friday night– i was excited to try this place after all the reviews. However i was disappointed. The downstairs bar was average. They did have a lot of people, but i would say its an older crowd. We tried to go bowling, but when we were directed to go upstairs to the«bowling alley» — they told us it was closed for a little bit b/c they were counting money up there. We got a quick glimpse of the lanes and it was extremely tiny and didnt seem to be much of a bowling alley. We ended up leaving since we did not feel like waiting the 15 minutes to go bowling. they did seem to have some cheap drink prices downstairs.

Great bar. Nice to find a lad back place, friendly people, great atmosphere. Food is basic but all done perfectly. I live in an area that thinks a great bar is the bar area at Applebees or Outback. Anytime I’m in the area I spend time at Paul’s. Just awesome to have a place with character, that also has affordable beer and great food.

Best bar in New Jersey hands down! New Jersey sucks so having this place makes it so much better. People of New Jersey finally a good place in that horrible state worth hanging out at and having drinks and just relaxing! Thanks Paul for making it all possible :)

not impressed with sign on the door… no motorcyclist served after 11pm… so you feel bikers do not need food or drink after 11pm? what makes them different than any other person. guess we will not be stopping by next time we come thru jersey. and will be happy to let other bikers know of this issue… and will post it on facebook also… this is very discriminating… like your new look that davids crew did but … no longer interested in coming by… dawn.

Apparently, this bar was just renovated by the show, Restaurant Impossible. I have no idea what this place was like before, but it’s pretty cool right now. I’ve driven by this place dozens of times to get to other spots in the area and I always wondered how they fit a bowling alley into such a small looking space. I finally checked this place out last night because I wanted a drink before I hit the hookah bar. According to signs, this place opened during the Great Depression, in 1929. Surprisingly, it has its own private parking lot. The main bar is pretty big, taking up the center of the room, with a few high tables near the walls. There’s also a pool table on one side, along with some arcade machine and a cigarette vending machine. Beer is at dive bar prices, $ 3 for the domestics with some specials going on depending on the day. I happened to come in on the day they had 40 cent wings, so I grabbed an order with sauce on the side. The wings are good even without the sauce because they’re seasoned well. The bowling alley is in the back, 8 lanes total, 4 lanes on top level, 4 on the bottom. The lanes look really old school, like the bowling alley from MIB3. Each lane has an iPad, i’m guessing to keep score with. I like this place. I’ll be back

Awesome bar. The place was just re done by restaurant impossible one of my favorite shows. They have good beer prices and 40 cent wings. 2 25 for coors 2.50 for yuengling. They also have 8 bowling lanes which is awesome. Their wings were awesome, fried perfectly and dis not even need sauce or blue cheese. Passed this place a million times and finally went. Will be back

The service is great-bartenders are really cool– we ate some awesome bar food a few weeks ago, really awesome pierogies, a kick-ass quesadilla, and in general going to a bar with a pregnant girl is always extra special cause she’s compensating cause she can’t drink, so she’s eating like a beast, it was awesome, we reaped the benefit, for reals

So I’ve been to Paul’s bar about two times and I’ve had an okay time each time I went. The last time I went I was with a friend I hadn’t seen in a while, and being both in our early 20s we kind of stuck out in a crowd where everyone else was about 35 years old and above. Nonetheless my friend and I had a pretty good time. The beers on tap were about 2 bucks each and the bartenders were very friendly. The music selection was a bit old for my taste but it was pretty good overall.

I remember the first time I walked into Paul’s. I felt like I was walking into a time warp and was surprised that the record didn’t skip upon entering. Well, it didn’t skip partially because there was a band playing at the time. Most weekends you will find some live music by the pool table. I grabbed a seat towards the back wall and found myself drinking $ 4 Sierra Nevadas. With a big ol’ smile on my face, I sat there people watching and loving it. The bartenders are hilarious. There is a Russian, I think, woman who knows all the regulars and then there is a feisty woman that wasn’t satisfied with any of the live music. She made me laugh a lot. I ended up talking to one of the regulars there, who bought me a drink with a wooden chip… go figure. And the kitchen guy, with his hair slicked back is another one of those characters you can’t miss. Another time I went there I wanted to check out the bowling. I threw a surprise birthday party for my husband and we went bowling. There are two floors of bowling. The bowling alley is straight from 1968, or so we were told. Bowl to your hearts content, because it’s just as cheap as the beers! At the end, when I told the bar that it was my husband’s birthday, they gave him a mini bottle of champagne that says«Happy Birthday from Paul’s Bar and Bowling». We are saving it for a special moment…
