Newport Deck

We tried Newport Deck last night for the first time in years. The food was very good and the prices were very affordable. The 2 for 1 fish and chips for $ 6.95 was the deal of the day and I also had a local brewed craft beer. I’ll make this one of my regular stops when we go out from now on.

I love the fish and chips at this place. It is a buy one get one free on Friday’s between 4 – 8. Last time I went I got slapped in the face with the realization that I had missed the cut off for this deal. Heartbroken I somehow got the strength to carry on and decided to try a new menu item. That was a mistake because let me tell you I was not feeling the burger. Somehow I took 6 bites without touching the top bun. I think they were playing a prank on me with a self rejunvinating trick bun. They must be pranksters at this place. Onion rings are top notch.

The Newport Deck is a joint, the inside brings you back to the 90s, bar and lottery machine at the center place, a few tables are spread around the first floor. The deck is on the second floor after a perilous ascent of a spiral metal staircase. (I pity the waitresses).
We sat outside on the deck and the joyful waitress came over quickly. The service is outstanding for a place like that, friendly, quick and helpful.
2 for 1 fish and chips was a given, fried and warm, tasty, like any fish and chips should be in new england.
1 bacon cheeseburger n fries, perfect in it’s own way.
4 beers (3 $ each) and 2 strong margarita (5,50 $each)
for a total of 40 $, very affordable, you get what you pay for. I’d recommend this place for anyone in need of a relaxed place on a Friday night.
