Payson Regional Medical Center

My 86 year old mother had a medical emergency and was taken to Payson Regional Medical Center (now Banner Payson Medical Center). They took good care of my mom, however that is where my accolades end. She ended up with a bill that had an item on it that Medicare does not pay, for a procedure that they declare as unnecessary. Medicare even went so far as to say that it was essentially fraudulent for Banner to have performed that unnecessary procedure on her, let alone to bill my mom for.
That is not where the problem ended. By the time my mom realized that Medicare was not going to pay for the unnecessary procedure, she received a notice that Banner was going to send her to a collections agency. She immediately called Banner and was told that while being disputed she would not go to collections. 2 weeks later she got notice that she had in fact been sent to collections with a collections agency called Professional Account Services Inc, which is a subsidiary of Community Health Systems, Inc. (which is the same organization that owns Banner.) What a can of worms.
Mom is scared (in 86 years she has never been sent to a collections agency) and has been bounced around so much by Banner, and lied to so much, that out of desperation and fear going to pay the $ 600 bill that she does not owe, (and that Medicare calls fraudulent.) She is on a tiny fixed income and $ 600 is a huge sum of money to her.
Banner CEO Peter Fine got $ 3 million in salary and compensation. This $ 600 they are so desperate to collect will only pay 0.02% of his annual pay. Banner must feel pretty proud of bullying an 86 year old to pay a bill that she does not owe.

Worst blood Draw experience ever. This place was bad before, but now since Banner took over even worse. Front desk lady was nice but over stressed and overloaded with work.

5 stars. I went in at 4am Saturday and they were ready. No wait. Nice nurses and no rush.
X ray machine top notch wheeled over to my bed. Front staff minimized paperwork. Great staff.
