I went to G2 Salon yesterday and used a Groupon I had for a facial, mani and pedi. It was a great late morning! First, I got a pedicure. G2 has kept the same idea that Gentiana salon had with their pedicure«Bowls», which I am a fan of. The pedicure room is small and only has one chair. I kind of liked this since I usually get my services done alone, but it may be an issue if you were trying to have a spa day with someone. The facial was very relaxing-something that was nice – she did my nails while I was in for the facial – so during the breaks where you have to have mask set, and steam she did them in between. As a mom on the go I appreciated this – I was only there for 2 hours for all 3 services. I pretty much fell asleep as my nails were drying. The salon is very clean and bright and inviting. It is located right near Legal Sea Foods. My esthetician/nail tech was Nicole and she was so friendly and great at her job. I am looking forward to going back soon! Also – the reception woman was very nice. She actually got me a coffee from McDonald’s because they didn’t have cream! That was a really nice touch. I will be back! **Please note*** It looks like reviews are mixed up between their two locations. They only have one location now, at the Northshore Mall in Peabody next to Legal Sea Foods. My previous review was for their old location next to TJ Maxx on 114.

Had received a gift certificate through living social for a massage that i completely forgot about up until a week ago. Turns out it expired three days after i found it. When i called to explain i work two jobs and there was no possible way i could get in before the expiration date i was told they wouldn’t honor it after said date. I work in the industry and cannot fathom turning away a new client over an expired gift certificate. Not only did they lose a potential client but their lack of concern and care for accruing new clients is sub par at best. However, after reading all the not so stellar reviews on Unilocal… im not so sure i would have enjoyed a poor attempt at a massage anyhow.

I renewed a voucher in February, and I was so angered by the experience I decided to wait to write a Unilocal review. I eventually let it go. 5 months later, I am still bothered by my experience so I suppose I’ll share. I bought an EverSave deal for a shellac mani and pedi. I made an appointment for 2:30. I walked in just before 2:30 and checked in. I was going to Paris the next day so I had my day planned out, with another appointment at 5. The salon seemed like a hidden gem in that Peabody plaza. I didn’t want to believe the Unilocal reviews. I waited and waited and started to get antsy. At 2:45 a woman assured me it would only be a few more minutes. At 3:00 she came back around and suggested I pick out a color. I was seated on the pedicure bench – which I happened to be very disappointed with, I was expecting the massage chairs and I found the bench to be very uncomfortable and not accommodating to my long legs. When I put them in the basin I felt cramped. That is just a design of the salon, nothing they can really change. I waited another 15 minutes until a younger girl came over and started doing my pedicure. Halfway through scrubbing my feet a young man came over and jumped in. They passed me off like nothing. I came to understand that this young man was supposed to be doing my pedicure the whole time, so technically I would have been waiting 45 minutes from my 2:30 appointment. The man was spunky and funny, good personality. When it got to my manicure he explained that he doesn’t use the shellac top coat. I’m not sure if this was the cause but my manicure chipped in FOURDAYS. I was so appalled! I’ve had shellac before and it will last me two weeks without chipping. I was in Paris at this time so I couldn’t return to the salon. The woman(I believe she is one of the owners) seemed understanding of my annoyance as she kept apologizing for making me wait. This did alleviate some of my angst because she was acknowledging it. She told me to see them at the end and they’d give me something. What? I don’t know, nor was I expecting anything, but the fact that she offered could make up for my awful experience. I went to the front and pulled out my EverSave voucher. The male owner(I believe his name is Christopher) accepted it. I literally felt like I was giving him pennies and paper clips, like he was annoyed that I was using a voucher. I turned to leave and the woman said«Oh did you give her…» and he said«She’s all set». I literally flinched. Here she is wanting to give me some sort of appreciation for my annoying experience and he brushed her off. I wanted to turn around and say, no I was not offered anything, and I feel it’s because I used an EverSave voucher, like I didn’t matter because I wasn’t paying full price. I thought the point of these vouchers was to get new business. I certainly will never be returning to this«spa» and I have already warned my family and friends. After telling my experience to one of my friends she, a current customer, said she will never return. I really hope Gentiana starts improving on their customer service, because if I could give them 0 stars I would.

I went to Gentiana because I had a coupon for facial, haircut and nails. I was not impressed at all. During my facial the girl’s cellphone kept vibrating which did not produce a relaxing environment, I didn’t say anything but I was annoyed and found it unprofessional. Next I waited half an hour for someone to do my nails, they told me the nail girl was running late but I ended up getting the girl who did my facial which I found odd. She did a good job and helped me pick a color and was honest about the one I had originally picked(too old lady) I’m glad she suggested a different color. After my nails were done, I had the haircut part it was very odd experience. I thought the set up was weird where the hair dryer came from the ceiling. When she«ran out of hands she put the hair dryer on my lap, on top of my just done nails which really pissed me off. I feel as though I should not have to «hold» tools for the hairdresser. The male receptionist also seemed like an airhead. Everytime I was waiting for something he would ask me what I was waiting for, I felt that was his job to have everything scheduled properly and he should know who in the salon has already had what done. All in all it was not what I expected of a «spa» I found the staff unprofessional and I did not thorougly enjoy myself. I would not go here again… even with a coupon.

I had a massage here a few months ago and they canceled my appointment(s) three times on me before I finally got in there. I’ve been trying to make an apointment for the past month, but no one would return my call(always got VM during salon hours). I just got off the phone with them and they told me they were booked through the end of the month(and I have to use my buy with me coupon by the 31st). This salon really needs to brush up on their customer sevice. Big thumbs down!!!

Don’t go here for nails. I can’t speak about anything else. Got the«spa» manicure and pedicure from BuyWithMe. I went on a Saturday at 2pm. The place was pretty much empty. Large place, only about 3 customers in there. Why did I have to wait a month for an appointment when there’s hardly anyone here? Nobody was at the desk, I had to walk around the salon looking for someone to acknowledge me. Seems like the employees don’t really care/don’t put much effort into their jobs. The manicure was quick and done carelessly(I bled a couple of times). It was supposed to be a spa manicure and I didn’t even get lotion on my hands or a massage. The polish wasn’t done well at all. The pedicure was much the same, although she did put lotion on my feet, but she quickly wiped it off without a massage(and that’s what I always look forward to during a spa pedicure!). I have a feeling this place is losing money and that’s why they’re running so many deals — to desperately try to get customers in(and money up front). Here’s a tip — if you’re trying to get more customers(and hoping for regulars), DO A GOODJOB!

I was excited to try this salon through a promotion of eversave. A friend and I booked the shellac mani/pedi(which is just a shellac mani & regular pedi which makes sense because you don’t need shellac on your toes). We arrived an evening after work, and had to wait about a ½ hour or so past our appointment since they were running late(which may be a trend based on the other reviews?). The staff we had were nice(particularly the russian girl), although I can see how some other Unilocalers felt that the atmosphere was a bit gossipy. I wasn’t however crazy about the bench setup(not as relaxing) or the way my cuticles were done. The shellac itself was however nicely applied and held up over two weeks, but I’m not sure that I would go back absent of another voucher/deal.

Called for an appointment, the person who answered couldn’t help me(«I don’t know the schedule») and offered to have the owner call me back. Waited 24 hours before my call was returned. Got to the salon, said I was there for a 5 pm appointment, sat down. About 5:15 someone from the front desk asked me what I was there for; was asked to wait another few minutes. I had an appointment for a bikini wax and it was the single most painful one I’ve ever had. The staff member kept repeating, «It’s not my fault.» I’ll be going elsewhere.

I bought a buywithme coupon($ 30) that gave me the choice of an hour massage, hour facial or 90min mani/pedi. I got a massage with Stacie. The massage room itself was very small. If you’re claustrophobic, it might be a problem because it is literally the size of a closet. The massage itself was very thorough and relaxing, one of the best I’ve gotten. However, because the room was next to the hair cut area, I could hear everything, which made the massage less relaxing. I also got the first time $ 5 eyebrow wax. Candice was really nice and she did a really great job of listening to my wants and my eyebrows came out rather nice. The wax they use is great because it didn’t hurt very much and it didn’t cause much inflammation. I felt like the services I got were great but could be improved. I think one of the biggest cons for me was the gum chewing. It’s very unprofessional in my opinion.
