Pros: This is a good traditional Karate School. It’s been a fixture of downtown Pearl River for decades. I trained here for a couple of years and found the overall nature of the school to be very family oriented. There are a lot of adult and kids classes. They focus on traditional contact Karate, so it will improve your stand up striking game. They wear full pads for sparring. The prices are reasonable and there are no crazy contracts or credit card scams. The instructors are patient and keeps things structured, motivated, and friendly.
Cons: If you are looking for a place to do MMA brawling, this is not it. The classes are fairly crowded, so you’ve got to watch not to trip into someone, but you’ll get plenty of training with different partners.
