Because my health insurance has less coverage than a Knicks defense and a higher premium than Greece’s sovereign debt, you know that if I need to go to the doctor, that it must be BAD. I have been to countless primary care physicians in the city, who seem to have the«revolving door» mentality when it comes to patients. Or it’ll be «Oh hey, yeah, your hemoglobin is only 10.7g/dL but you’ll have to schedule another appointment and shell out another $ 35 for a copay if you want my help.» This disillusionment and frustration is why I’ve come back to Janet after a brief hiatus. After a thorough examination of all of the vital signs and extensive bloodwork, she took the time to explain my lab results to me, line-by-line. I also appreciate that rather than throw a flurry of prescriptions in my direction, that she recommends more«natural» methods for me to recalibrate my body through a modification in diet and consumption of daily supplements. My only complaints: The admin portion of the office feels like it’s in a state of disarray at times. I’ve had claims processed to outdated insurance companies(and did provide the office with the up-to-date information) which leaves me begging to speak to a live representative at the insurance company and jamming to this amazing Michael Bolton hold music. Also, up the ante on the magazine selection when I have to wait 10+ minutes — I’m not quite interested in learning about my AARP benefits yet.
