Bought two Chocolate mousse cakes. They turned out to be whipped cream not mousse. I took back the unopened cake for a refund. The Manager challenged my claim saying how could I know if the box was unopened. He then said I didn’t know what mousse is. Finally he gave me a store credit and warned me not to return a cake again. He doesn’t have to worry I won’t visit that store again. Used my credit to buy a bottle of wine to ease the dissapointment.

The food may be good but the male staff member yelling at a staff member in front of patrons is not cool at all. I felt bad for the girl. I can’t revisit this place again, they remodeled, the prices went up, and so did the attitudes. If you can bypass that then your in the right place. I have visited this place a number of times before I decided to leave this review.

We love Doris’s. From chicken to filet, we have never been disappointed. Today we purchased chicken wings and they cut them into drumettes and flats with no hesitation and even replaced nicely.(Publix just throws them back in). When we have bought filet we always buy the untrimmed. It is about $ 5 less per pound and they will then portion and trim. We buy all of our chicken breasts and chicken legs as well. We ordered 24 pink and white cookies for a breast cancer event at work and they were delicious. They individually wrapped and did not overfill the boxes. $ 1 from each cookie was donated to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Nice way to give back! Service is always friendly. Food is always fresh. Prices are competitive.

We have always loved all Doris’ Markets, until now. I will no longer be shoppong at the Pines store! On Monday I called in and picked up an order for 3.5 lbs of Sterling Silver inside skirt steak, I asked for it to be trimmed to remove any fat. Also called in a carrot cake(which was my daughter’s bday cake choice). While there, we also picked up 3.5 lbs alaskan crab leggs amongst other things. Everything was taken home in a cooler and refrigerated immediately. The following day, Tuesday I took everything out and opened to prepare my daughter’s bday dinner and first thing I opened was the cake, which had red velvet cake smudges on it from the neighboring cake in the case. They knew this was for a birthday, very tacky to sell us this cake without mentioning this or offering to cover it by writing happy birthday. Next I opened the steak and it was not only, not trimmed but it was brown, the blood was brown and it had that old meat smell. I called the manger immediately, he allowed me bring everything back. I appreciate the items being returned eithout hassle but what they dont get the entire experience was a negative one. Manager Steve made me feel like I was bothering him. I found myself apologizing to him ??? Not to mention the wasted time, gas, frustration, etc… Our $ 175 birthday dinner set for 7:30 at home turned into a $ 2909:00 pm dinner at a Restaurant(Rustic Inn) and our night did not end until almost 1 am when we would’ve been in bed by 10 pm IF dinner plans would have went as planned. IF Steve seemed to have truly cared, I WOULDNOT be posting this. After everything, it seems like poor management.

I absolutely LOVE Doris Italian Market! The staff is always friendly and helpful. I am definitely a bargain shopper. When I want a lot of meat for a reasonable price, I go to Doris. There has never been a time when I have purchased meat from Doris where the dish that I’m cooking isn’t great. They have a good quality of meat. So I always feel like I’m getting more bang for my buck. That’s important to me. The fruits and vegetables are always fresh. Aside from the meat department, the other department that I LOVE is the Cheese Department. I am always able to find a cheese that is not only delicious, but, that last a long time. There are some that I have a hard time finding at the grocery store so I have to come to Doris in order to find what I am looking for. Doris also has food that is already cooked if you are not in the mode to cook. One of my favorite dishes is the Meat Lasagna. I would recommend Doris Italian Market to anyone.

Bakery employee has bad attitude. Big blond girl who looks and acts like she had to roll out of bed to get to work. Always pissed off at the world. After a few confrontations I just don’t go back. Better italian markets around. Ginos in Hollywood where they honor the Italian tradition of friendliness in an Italian market setting. I’d rather support a family business that treats their customers like family than a company like Doris that condones and makes excuses for employees treating customers badly time amd time again. Yulk… Doris market. I’d rather not!

For Italian imports, and a wide variety of cookies, cakes, and pastries — Dori’s is the best option I have seen in Florida so far. The produce section is small but reasonably priced, and the deli sandwiches and subs are good. Overall I would always recommend Dori’s for coffee and pastries, and light shopping needs.

Had a Christmas Party and ordered several apps I spent close to 400 I was pleased with everything except I ordered Hawaiian chicken skewers and they showed up as tofu. This was not what we had ordered and they were not tasty at all. I again ordered about 150 in seafood for Christmas Eve. When I went to pick up the fish I spoke to the manager who then directed me to the chef. The chef apparently sat out the customer service class and stated that it could not have been tofu. It was. I wasn’t expecting anything for free but since I had spent so much money the past month I expected an apology. I had 100 people at my party and none of us will be using Doris again

What a dissapointment. I went there because of good reviews here… Not worth it… Prices are expensive, meats are expensive than other markets which i though they werent. The produce that are on sale is because are almost getting bad. Also tried their italian bakery, a big selection, prices there are reasonable but nothing wow about the taste. Maybe its good for italian products that u can not get in somewhere else. But nothing more.

Ducked in to grab some hot and some sweet Italian Sausage to help my Mom(its her favorite) recover from her surgery and to see how this location compares to the one on Sunset Strip. Sunset Strip is bigger and newer and more spacious, but this location is a gem, too. My Roast Beef and Swiss Sub was football-sized and delish at $ 6.50. I wanted Roast Pork but they were temporarily out. Sad face. Awesome and big and filling sandwich for the money. The sausage is discounted a buck a pound when you buy 5 lbs. or more, so pay attention. Good stuff, fast service, clean and professionally run operation for sure. Enjoy like I do. Cabeza OUT!

I love this Italian market. The fresh vegetables with their«in your face» approach and great prices, the amazing deli food and oh, who can forget all of their great soups?! I love how this place sticks to true Italian brands and has fresh, homemade looking products. The meats are also very fresh and well packaged, and everyone is very personable and nice. I always have such a nice experience at Doris’.

The atmosphere in this Italian grocer is a bit of a conundrum. Doris catches your fancy right as you walk in the door: the vegetables and fruits are bright, vivid colors, perfectly stacked and begging to be bought. The shelves are EXACTLY lined up. The way I know this is that I saw an employee precisely lining up the many bottles of imported olive oil and various vinegars. This part of the store feels like an old world corner store.(If you imagine that CORNERSTORE as immaculately clean and neat .) Towards the rear there’s a large selection of imported wines, a well stocked meat and deli area, and a superb salad bar and bakery. I LOVETHECHINESECOOKIES, and mom really likes their hamantaschen. The chicken salad is delicious, the service is friendly. What more could you ask for! CONVENIENCEITEMS? Got those too!

I’m partial to Doris’s — it has a nice ring to it. But I have to admit, I was a little dissapointed from this Doris. I think her selection of condiments and spices and this and thats for the kitchen could be much more robust. I mean, come on, Doris — you’re Italian! The produce is not Whole Foods fresh but it should be. The meat selection is what you come here for — and the pastries; cannoli and fresh mutz. Fish is ok– not great. Pasta and meatballs — premade for us non-Italians are very much appreciated, as are the prepared foods to order to go– for the lazy cooks in all of us. Look for the little sale racks here and there as things can be a little over priced. Doris — you’re an Ok broad.

I can speak Italian when I am in this market… That’s how authentic it feels. Need some killer salami? DONE. Need freshly made cannoli filled before your eyes while you wait? NOPROBLEM. Fresh fish, always looking awesome. Wine, wine, WINE. You will pay a little bit more here, but it’s absolutely worth every penny. I want to be there while I’m shopping. It isn’t some chore anymore. Its a great experience and gets me pumped up about making dinner.

We have been going to Doris since we were kids and love that they have a location in Pembroke Pines. This market is in a plaza accross from city hall. It is small but has everything you need to make great Italian food and more. When you walk in you will be greeted by the smell of a a great italian market not some sanitized grocery. First they have the produce. They always have the best fruit in season. They also have a nice assortment of greens. Dandilion greens are hard to come by and they usually have them in fresh. I also like that they have escarole. Their prices are good too. They always have red and green peppers for much less than Publix. Next is their seafood section where there is always a kind person waiting to serve you. They give great advice on how to cook the fish. Then the meat. That is the main reason for my visit. They run specials on t-bone and they cut them to your desire and freezer wrap each one individually. Hand cut steaks are the best. We always go home and grill some right away for dinner. They make their own sausages. I always get a few pounds of hot and a few pounds of the sweet ones but have also tried the chicken with sun dried tomato and they are awesome too! As you round the corner you will find the deli. Their sandwich meats are a bit pricy but worth it. Their subs are to die for! They also have a great selection of olives and salad items for antipasto. Then you will find the bakery which is so hard because everything looks good. We like their bread and always get some cookies too. They have a nice wine selection in the corner. Overall it’s a fun place to shop and the staff are friendly.

Had to stop in and grab some fresh Italian Sausage, Proscuitto, Fresh Mozzarella, and desserts. This market has a great selection of fresh meats, seafood, deli items, and desserts. If you have time check out their wine selection too. Sometimes you can find some really good deals on great bottles. Their desserts are amazing! It is a great place to check out if you are going to a BBQ, or someone’s house and you want to bring a fabulous dessert. The service has always been good. Great selection, fresh food, and good service. Prices can be a little high on certain items so know what to buy.
