Golden Krust Caribbean Bakery and Grill

If you can get there before they run out of food, it’s a great experience. The staff is friendly the actual restaurant is a decent lunch place.
The food once you get it (and they have it prepared) is great! The Ox Tails, Jerk chicken. .Chicken patties… Andre just a few things I’ve tried. Good lunch spot if your in the area.

Their lunch mix are great, patties hit or miss. They do tend to be out of a lot each time I go but ive never had an issue with their workers. Always kind and understanding while debating what you want.

Great lunch specials. Jerk Chicken and Brown Stew Chicken is bomb. They really know how to cook their food, Jamaican style! The one is Miami is horrible

First time visit today around lunch time. Wasn’t crowded. Very clean. Food looked good behind glass. Ordered the jerk pork dinner, shrimp patty and spicy beef patty. Was only able to eat half the meal because the portion was generous. Very delicious. Tasted the shrimp patty, it was ok. Plenty of leftovers. Looking forward to finishing later. The service was friendly. I will go back again.

Have come here a few times to buy patties. They are quite slow but food is good. That’s why we go there anyway.

Still out of stock on almost everything. Still bad service and they won’t even honor a Unilocal coupon. This place is absolutely unrepairable.

Came here for breakfast. Long line and only one person working the counter. Everyone else is standing around talking about they are cooking this and that.
No interest in moving the line along. I made it known that the wait is too long, and I told I came right before lunch. Huh? Why is that a factor in slow service? Hire people to work the counter and stop making excuses.
Luckily I’m hungry and no where else to eat. Smh! One star is too much.

Golden Krust has more than one location. This is a newer shop and it is very clean and modern. The staff is very helpful, and there is rarely a wait.
Open early, you can get a traditional breakfast or grab a patty (they have a large selection of patties, including vegetarian options, beef, chicken, curry and jerk flavor, etc). The patties have a flaky crust which is something I look for in a patty, but I did notice that the crust on a patty I purchased had a white crust, not the usual yellow pastry, and the white variety was not as flaky. it might be just a one-​off, but I figured I would mention it just in case you also are looking for flaky.
the hot food items are prepared fresh daily, and delicious. I go back time and time again for the jerk pork and rice and peas, and each time, I am impressed by both the quality and quantity of the entrée. One large jerk pork with rice and peas lasts me about 3 meals.
The entrees are served with your choice of sides, so If you are going low carb, you could opt for the cabbage, but the rice and peas is awesome, and they will serve it with your choice of gravy (I go with brown stew gravy), with a side of sweet plantains.
the staff puts the customer first, and will give you exactly what you request and prepare your plate or take out container while you watch.
I do recommend this as more of a take-​out place, because although there is seating inside, it is a bit limited, plus with All That Food, you will likely be bringing some home with you anyway.

This is a rather new location for Golden Krust in Pembroke Pines. For those who do not know Golden Krust is a franchised Jamaican bakery/​restaurant chain. Golden Krust bakes their own Jamaican style breads and pastries with a specialization in Jamaican patties. Unlike the Bread which is baked at their main facilities, the patties are baked on the premises in each restaurant. They have many different types of Jamaican patties, for example and not limited to vegetarian, shrimp, curry/​jerk chicken and spicy beef etc. This location is shiny and spotless with indoor dining, they also have a large «L» shaped sofa in a small waiting area in the front of the restaurant.
I have patronized this location a few of times now. The first time I tried the curry chicken with rice and peas and the second time I tried the curry chicken with banana and yam. Both times the food was very tasty and spicy. The next time I go I will try the patties and brown stew chicken.
One thing I appreciate with Golden Krust is they usually have Jamaican run icing cake. It is hard to find that kind of cake at any Jamaican restaurant or bakery. The rum icing cake Golden Krust has is superb, consistently delicious, a must try. The customer service seems friendly. Publix, Office Depot and a host of other stores are located in the same large strip mall, so it is convenient to do other shopping.
UPDATE… I have tried the patties and brown stew chicken both were very tasty I am definitely a fan. Next on my list is the escovitched fish.
UPDATE… the patties are constantly fresh, soft and delicious. The escovitched fish was very good with good seasoning and texture.

Ordered just a veggie patty. It was fresh, delicious, and little bit spicy. Can’t wait to go back. Under $ 5 is cash only.
