When shopping for my first women’s carbon road bike, I visited a couple of different shops that carried a large selection of brands. I knew nothing about road bikes and left each shop confused and frustrated. I had no idea how I was going to make this major purchase decision and select the right bike. Then I went to Cycle Lodge. Beth Mills spent over two hours working with me. She explained the bikes, did an initial fitting and then worked with me while I test drove the finalists [multiple times]. I can’t image how I would have been able to make this decision without Beth’s guidance. While they don’t have the largest selection of brands or the package discounts some of the other shops offered, they really follow through on their commitment to serve the women cyclist. I can’t wait to pick up my new bike and look forward to working with Beth and Jim on my future cycling needs.

The Cycle Lodge has tons of accessories, supplements, apparel, parts and bikes on hand for all budgets and skills. This is the best place around to buy, fix or learn any and all things bike. Even the group rides are great. I highly recommend this shop to anyone in the area.

Jimmy and Beth take good care of their customers. One time I crashed on my mountain bike and needed a brake lever replaced in time to get another ride before the weather changed. Despite being busy, Jimmy got it done that same day and had me back on the trails. They lead group rides and participate in local cycling events. Everything a community bike shop should be, and more.

I’m a new customer to this store and I don’t regularly enjoy writing reviews; but Cycle Lodge has immediately made my MUST go-to list for anyone – though especially someone looking for PASSIONATEEXPERTS who are more than willing to share their advice and love of cycling to those getting more involved. They are meticulous with their repairs/body-work, have a Certified Master’s BodyGeometry Fit Technician, and individually 20+ years of personal knowledge/advice. MYSUMMARY: JUSTGETOUTOFBOSTON/YOUR TOWNANDGOTHEDISTANCETOTHISSTORE… THEYMAKEITWORTHITANDMADEMEFEELLIKEFAMILY – just as reviewer Christine Kingston has said. But feel free to read all my details below. I visited 5 different stores while trying to locate answers to questions and the right fit for my needs – but Cycle Lodge stood alone in a multitude of ways. They stand out so much, that I won’t hesitate to make the commute from Boston to Pembroke(in traffic!!!) any given day. Not only were they(owners: Beth & Jim) the only store to openly supply me with super detailed advice and opinions, but not once did I feel as though my decisions were being influenced in a particular manner. They work as a true team and they always listened carefully in order to go above and beyond while answering my(numerous) questions in a highly unbiased and thoughtful manner. By this I mean, they usually supplied me with additional answers to questions I wasn’t even aware to ask – but that they foresaw as also being an issue in relation to what I was asking or wanting. It’s like watching mind-readers. Being someone who wants to know a lot about everything, this was perfect for me. Other stores typically gave me a bare bones answer or one so generic such as ‘it’s really about what your fit is’, but then no real answers about what I should be considering. With Jim and Beth, it was closer to, «try out a bunch of our bikes outside the store and really get an actual feel for the differences». Then they’d discuss those differences with me and really narrow down what I was noticing, what I wanted more of or less, they’d speak brand/material differences as well. At some point, I had to take a second spin on the same bikes just to make sure I wasn’t getting confused… but even this was good by them. I couldn’t believe. They were willing to spec out multiple bikes for me, be patient with my decision period, and when I finally ordered they were even willing to rush some processes(that I’m pretty sure they really don’t have time for without going out of their way). THEYSTAYEDLATEMULTIPLETIMES because I was on a semi-urgent need to acquire and fit the bike by a specific date. Truthfully, I just lost track of time while being in their store because they’re so friendly and will just keep helping you out. Never once did they suggest that they really should be going – and REALLY, I should have gone on my own because it was waaay past their closing hours. In truth, you forget what time it is because they’re just that cool – and like it’s been said – they make you feel like family from day 1. Anyways, I hate to get people’s hopes up high, but I don’t think they’ll disappoint, and I really couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you Cycle Lodge and I look forward to seeing more of you in the future – let’s hope you feel the same. ;-)
