Dirty and smelly store, prices are not any lower than Publix or Winn-Dixie. Service is nasty rude. And as mentioned before, dust on many items.

I agree completely with Kimberly’s review. Yes, it is an older store and not fancy like Publix, but it does not charge quite as much as Publix, either. If you shop from the sale flyers, you can feed your family for a week very well. The produce department is somewhat basic — they don’t carry fancy imported or exotic items. But they have all the basics at competitive prices. And the people who work at the Barnes on Ninth Ave. are VERY nice. If they closed for a couple of months to replace the floors and paint and all that, where would I go when I needed something quick for supper? I am quite satisfied with the Barnes on Ninth just the way it is.

I feel the need to write a review of my local grocery store since someone only gave it one star:(No it isn’t fancy, yes there are bars on the door, yes its full of colorful characters both inside and out front. Some of the staff is cranky but most of them are very nice. For those of us who live in East Hill and just want to buy a bottle of ketchup or a dozen eggs its very handy. I go here weekly for just the basics. It’s no more expensive than Publix and hey its always entertaining(just stand by the beer cooler for 5 min). I love this little store and would be very unhappy if it left the area. The only reason I won’t give it 5 stars is it has a limited selection of produce and bread. Those of us who live in this area take it for what it is, if you don’t like it move on down the road to Publix.

.. Should’ve known something was wrong when a GROCERYSTORE has burgular bars outside on its doors and windows… Disgusting inside, floor looked liked it hadn’t been mopped in ages, dusty products, shockingly HIGH prices, RUDE employees. no «hello», no «thank you», no «have a nice day». questionable looking patrons. will NEVER shop here EVER again… I’ll take my chances at a Walmart Supercenter or better yet, down the road to Publix where they actually know what Customer Service is.
