Was a little disappointed by this restaurant. I guess my review is biased based on my previous restaurant where I would get my oxtails. In comparison this place barely gave you anything to eat. The meat pieces were small and barely had meat on them. It lacked a really good flavor. The plaintains were good and the cabbage was good too but mushy. The restaurant was clean, fast service, the food is already prepared and warming in trays, so need to wait. I got a small plate for $ 10.50, was informed that a large would be $ 12.50. I may return again to see if better oxtail portions are served. The restaurant had a decent amount of seating. There was a corner where music played and a drum set rested. They had a small area where they sold jamaican cooking ingredients.

I loved this place! Authentic Caribbean food that makes you feel you’re in Jamaica! We had the jerk chicken(perfect blend of spices-some heat but not too hot), and the chicken curry. My husband wasn’t crazy about all the bones in his curry, but the meat was so tender it fell off of them. The spices in both dishes were warm and fragrant and so mouth-wateringly blended together it was art on a plate and they gave us a taste of delicious Jamaican tea, which I will absolutely order next time! Sides of perfectly cooked rice and peas, curried cabbage, fried plantains and cornbread further proved someone knows what they’re doing in this Island Kitchen! We took home a piece of the special black cake to share: dense, moist spice cake with a big burst of fresh orange peel. Really lovely –all of it! Try it soon!
