Really cool place. Laid back atmosphere and a good selection of drinks as well as cool board games.

Blue is an artsy bar with good people. If you like your beer served in a beaker and your mixed drinks in a Flintstones or Loony Toons glass, then this is the place for you.

This is our favorite bar in Central IL. Not your typical bar. Perfect for the open minded, creative person. Every time we stop in, there is a mixed crowd of all ages and backgrounds. I could sit at the bar for hours looking at the intricate and interesting decorations. Definitely an easy place to relax, make friends and have EXCELLENT mixed drinks. Our favorite is the«Blue Tide». Give it a try. :)

I’ve lived in Peoria for 13 years(coming from Chicago). Always heard about Blue but never been there until this year. Best decision ever. I love the atmosphere. The owners who work behind the bar themselves are welcoming and just… fun lol. The events there are so entertaining and diverse. THEFOODISFANTASTIC! I had The Great Gatsby last time I was there. changed my life. The Lola Louise wrap is great too. Drinks for dayssss… Blue’s my spot. I’m about to graduate from Bradley in May and move out of state. I’m bummed that I just tried Blue this year, aka potentially my last year in Peoria :( You wont regret trying Blue bruh.

I came here while visiting some friends in Peoria and it was so cool. Granted it is classified as a «dive» bar and my friends warned me that it was dirty, but as long as you have that expectation up front, it won’t disappoint. I loved that the liquor-based drinks were served in old school glasses(my friend had one that was Smurfs and one that was Charlie Brown) and the beers were served in beakers. I got to play some classic tunes on the juke box which always makes things fun and they had a selection of games that we played as well. Fun social spot for a big group of friends!

Not so sure about the hipster label — Blue is a great little local pub, where many of the patrons are welcomed by name, and reminds me of pubs in England in that respect. The food is all made-to-order, and whilst I only had two items(home-made bruschetta and a TBA Wrap) from the one-page menu, they were enough to convince me to keep coming back for solids. I’m sure the rest of the menu is equally yummy — it’s mainly wraps, but they are looking to change the menu at some stage. But don’t come here for a dining experience, the good food is a sideshow to the excellent selection of rail and top-shelf liquor, and a good number of draft beers including seasonals, and what looked like a great selection of bottled ones. On the liquid front, you’d be hard-pressed to come away dissatisfied. There are two TVs, one has a sign saying«No Sports. NO» on it, the other had sports on when I was there(Saturday night), but both are unobtrusive. The bathroom was clean. Blue has bike parking — at least you can walk your bike home after a good time! Good music, great space with an eclectic expanse of Flapper-era(and other) art on the walls, comfy bar stools and a few plush chairs scattered around, and board games all give the place a very ‘easy’ feel — no drama here. It’s not for everybody, and that’s a good thing.

We had a chance to check this place out tonight. The place was ok — ok for Peoria standards. It’s located in the heart of ghetto so we didn’t feel safe leaving our car out there for long. The building is rundown and it looks as if it will collapse on you any second. Apart from those, the place was fine, the people were generally friendly and the atmosphere inside isn’t that bad either.

One of my favorite places in Peoria. If you want the non-traditional bar atmosphere, come to Blue. You will be treated with great customer service, entertained with board games, pool and an amazing jukebox selection. Always a friendly crowd here, and my favorite aspect, is being able to bike here and bring my ride inside for parking. Hands down, my favorite bar in Peoria.

Blue is a «hipster bar» in Peoria which compared to Chicago’s hipster scene is a bit lacking but nonetheless fun. It’s a small cozy bar with glittery walls and unique décor that makes you feel like you’re in a teenager’s bedroom. The bartenders were very nice and Blue had a small but decent selection of beers on tap. I chose to drink a Leinenkugel Oktoberfest since I was in the mood for a fall drink and was feeling pretty rebellious. I didn’t feel like conforming to the hipster choice of beer, PBR, which was what almost everyone else in my group drank. I believe my beer was only $ 4.50 or so which is pretty cheap compared to Chicago prices. It was a little loud in here but that’s to be expected when you go out to a bar. What I really liked was the random glasses they served drinks in. One friend ordered a mixed drink and it came in a superhero glass and when I tasted a beer they served it in a tiny beaker the size of a shot glass. I’d recommend checking Blue out for a unique vibe and laid back time.

When I moved to Peoria from Ann Arbor, the hipster nerd capital of Michigan, I expected to take a long time adjusting to the local scene. And then I found Blue. The crowd here is an incredibly diverse mix — you’ll see all kinds of people on trivia nights, from Bradley students to local business owners, and they’re not just a minority in a sea of stuffed-shirt types from Cat. And just as you’d expect from that statement, the atmosphere is incredibly safe, friendly and welcoming. Besides the(awesome) people who hang out here, there are also board games to borrow, a well-curated, eclectic-in-the-best-way jukebox(with homemade mix CDs alongside full albums), a pool table, a sports-free TV, and a fantastic menu with vegetarian options good enough to win me over in spite of my carnivorous tendencies. Oh, and did I mention the drinks are served in cartoon-character glasses and beakers? Basically, if it wouldn’t make me look like a drunk, I would call it my home away from home. But I’ll settle for«favorite bar ever».

Blue is truly my most favorite bar in the world, and I wish I lived closer to it. Jessica and James are amazing, and have created a paradise of booze, games, delicious food, and unbeatable/unrepeatable atmosphere. I love Blue.

Blue is literally the perfect bar. Not a hole in the wall, and not pretentious. The only reason you wouldn’t like Blue is if you are a horrible human being. Seriously, Blue has standards. They’re really simple. Don’t be a jerk. If you’re not a jerk, come to Blue.

We all have a dream. It is the same dream. It’s the dream of stumbling into a random, small town in the middle of nowhere and finding The Perfect Bar. The haven. The place out of time, out of place, out of this world. Where you feel like you’re home. Ok, maybe that’s just my dream. But stay with me. Blue is that bar. Tucked in the middle of Peoria, unassuming, it sits. I went, on the shaky advice of a man with questionable taste, and was stunned. What is this place? How can it exist? There was a friendly guy tending bar(James), a laid-back, we-like-you-the-way-you-are vibe, great ambiance — you get the sense the place is a labor of love. You can tell folks who care run it, care for it… maybe it’s their dream, too. The food and drinks are reasonably priced, the jukebox is stocked, there’s board games galore, and frankly, I didn’t want to leave. Should I ever find myself in Peoria again, trust me, I shall go there. And sit for a long while. Thanks, guys, for keeping the dream alive!

I’m grateful that Peoria can sustain at least one bar like Blue. Eclectic décor, good beer on draft, copious board games and a great jukebox. The crowd usually does not pick up until later in the night and even then it’s not too bad. The staff is friendly but not overly friendly, which is the way this East coast expat likes his service. Don’t let its location further up the hill dissuade you — the area is fine and you can just park around back anyway.

This is for sure my favorite bar in Peoria. It’s low key, there are cheap drinks and a great jukebox. If you get there early in the night(like me, cause I’m old) you can grab a table and play board games. They have Apples to Apples, which is always a good time.

And the Peoria reviews continue! Big things happening in my world y’all. We decided to stop by after seeing Peter C’s review calling Blue«simply the best bar in Peoria»… it’s the only bar I experienced, but I’m rather inclined to agree! Parking is in the back so we entered through the back doors into an awesome dive bar with dim lighting, a random guy playing pool, good music and just one bartender. There were only three customers in there including us so we grabbed a seat there and ordered some drinks. The bartender was actually the owner and he was really nice & told us tons about Peoria and his background. Drinks were cheap and the conversation was great! The best part? My glass was an old school Pizza Hut signature series glass. So cool. Other than that, I wish I could have stayed long enough to try the juke box. Awesome dive bar!

As close as Peoria comes to a *hipster bar* with funky décor, cartoon glasses, even board games for those who are bored of their friends: D(it’s actually really fun to read all the Jenga tile dares). Jukebox is full of the owners’ personal collection of music starting back in the 70’s and up to current but not really what you will expect. Songs cost a quarter just like back in the old days and it’s really safe to just punch in random numbers and be happy with what comes on. They have some theme parties: a masquarade night, ugly Xmas sweater party, dance party nights, First Friday art exhibitions, etc. They have really been upping their craft cocktail game too with awesome concoctions with obscure liquors and fresh fruits & herbs. One last tip: it’s usually really hot in here in the winter so wear layers!
