The food was good but the service was really slow despite the fact that it was not crowded at all.

I’ve only been here once before and the food is really good! They have everything from baby back ribs to shrimp, steak & crab cake combos! Great customer service is a plus for me being im in the service industry myself. The crab pretzels is really good but be aware it’s big! The bartender I forget her name was great. I’ll be back.

Very nice atmosphere and good customer service. This is a nice place lunch, happy hour or dinner so stop by to partake in the daily meal and drink specials they offer. The drinks are great and not watered down. Jason makes the most amazing Strawberry Margaritas ask for him. I highly recommend the Chicken Annapolis and the Crab Pretzel sure you’ll enjoy both. I recommend this establishment.

I haven’t been here in a couple years and things have really gone downhill! The crab pretzel is still just as good, but the mozzarella sticks are different. I imagined that they ran out of mozzarella sticks, so they wrapped a string cheese in a spring roll wrap and called it a day. My main course was the steak and cake. The steak was cooked perfectly, but didn’t have much flavor. Maybe a lower quality meat or the kitchen doesn’t use seasoning. The crabcake was the worst. There were very few lumps of crabmeat and a lot of filler. I’m also pretty sure it was previously frozen instead of made fresh daily like a good Baltimore restaurant. The service was great, the food arrived quickly, and the drinks were quickly refilled. I just wish my meal was as good as I remember it being a few years ago.

I’ve driven past this place countless times… not sure if that’s a good thing or bad, either way I finally made it. It’s super confusing how to get in the main restaurant. They have a bar entrance and a restaurant entrance… Maybe it was because I was extremely cold and just looking for the first available door. I met up with an old girlfriend from college for dinner and some drinks which we definitely enjoyed. They have an extensive menu, quite overbearing, but good. They could be updated as they were a little worn and flimsy. We ordered with no issues, although it was very busy. Our waitress was polite, friendly, and attentive despite handling a numerous amount of tables. Our food, drinks, appetizers came out in a timely fashion. I think my rating is what it is because… they didn’t provide anything spectacular. Just another restaurant. Unfortunately, when restaurants become chain restaurants, I think the quality of their service declines. Perhaps they could change the menu or some items on the menu to make them special. I don’t have any major negatives about my visit, it’s just not somewhere I intend on visiting again.

Haven’t been there in years and after having dinner there last night, I remember why. Drinks were weak, portions small and not very clean. The menus had a slimy feel to them as if they were cleaned with the same rag they clean the floors with. The table clothes are plastic, but yet they charge more then other local restaurants. Zero atmosphere.

We had our son and daughter-in-law’s rehearsal dinner at Silver Spring Mining Co., Hunt Valley. Heather Thomas did a magnificent job making sure all of our requests were taken care of. We were delighted with the printed menu Heather created, and the room looked wonderful. The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. Asst. Manager Jeff Timmons was in touch with us throughout the evening, making sure everything was going to our liking. We couldn’t have been more pleased!

We have not been to Silver Spring Mining Co in quite some time due to some bad experiences in the past. It has been approx 2 years, so we thought we would try it again. We were greeted politely, and offered a sample of sangria. We both tried the peach sangria, and it was delicious. When checking the price of a glass, we opted for something else. MUCH to expensive, in our opinion. I ordered my favorite, the honey bourbon ribs and my boyfriend ordered the fried shrimp. The ribs were the usual delicious. The fried shrimp were medium sized and very dry. They also had a very strong fish taste to them. He did not eat them all, as they were just not good. The potatoes and salad were adequate. The service was good, but the server, Dawn, could have been more friendly. A smile and a little happiness in her voice would have been a nice addition to our meal. She did keep our drinks filled and checked back with us. I think we will probably not be back any time soon. As much as I enjoyed the ribs, the shrimp was less than good and certainly not cheap. We dine out daily for lunch and usually about 3 – 4 times per week for dinner. We don’t mind paying for good food and service… and we were less than impressed… again. We did leave the server a 25% tip, as she did an adequate job. It would have been better if she would have engaged a little more.

We come her often and have always had great service. The food prices can be a little high but look for the specials in the bar. They have awesome burgers.

Today the service and food where great. Kept it simple with a side of sea weed salad which was just as good as some of the Asian Establishments I visit. It wasn’t a side but they had no problem accommodating my needs. Wait staff was excellent. Then bad some basic appetizers and wings. Kept it simple for a first time. The menu looked very good and want to go back and try their sour beef. I would recommend this spot. I will be going back to see what else they can do. Also a very Clean Resturant all the way around.

I love this place, i have been dining here since i was a child and they serve one of my most favorite dishes that you CANNOT get at just any restaurant. i absolutely love the sour beef and dumpling that they serve here. I am german and my great grandmother used to make me sour beef and dumplings as a child because it was my favorite home meal. I have never found any one who can come close to her recipe, with the exception of me because i have it lol. i always order this with an extra dumpling. Any one who knows about this dish knows it is a very hard dish to make and takes days. you have to sour the meat and the sauce can be very finicky when cooking. the consistency has got to be perfect for it to be enjoyed appropriately and this place hits it right on the head. This is no 10 star dining establishment but it has this quaint sense of home feeling that keeps me coming back. i love their margaritas and drinks and the crab pretzel is so good. definitely made to share but for sure worth getting. i always recommend this location to all friends and family.

Had a great time at the upstairs bar with my girlfriend and another buddy. The bartender was great he was very friendly and he made our evening more enjoyable. The crab pretzel is an unbelievable appetizer and the ribs were fantastic. A+ The downstairs basement bar is super fun to catch a game. Individual tvs at each booth. Recently met the owner, a former NHL player with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Really cool guy.

I’ve been here a few times since the makeover. The place looks really good now. But every time we go there, they head directly to the center dining room which is a problem. The kitchen is open to this dining room. The staff is noisy and so the music played in the kitchen which is greatly different from that piped into the seating areas. I think they had a different menu all three times we went. Sure, the standards are still there but some have changed how they are made and not all for the better. This past visit, we walked in to find another party waiting for service. There were no employees in sight. When the hostess did show up she looked as if we were a nuisance she had to deal with. Luckily, we had a very friendly and helpful server. We both got french onion soup. It was strange — salty herbal cheese. It was made from real beef stock and a great grain bread that held up to the broth. My filet was grainy and overcooked but the crab cake was good. I got a side of squash but it was huge(full entrée for a vegetarian) and it tasted more like fajita filler. I will always go back because I don’t want to give up on them but I do speak up about where we are seated so I can enjoy my meal.

It’s been a while since I’ve reviewed a chain restaurant but sometimes a resturant«facelift» gives me just the push I need. Silver Spring put a lot of money and energy into re-establishing their menu, their décor, and their overall vibe. They widdled down their menu, which I think was the first step in reimaging their brand. If you have a large menu but can’t execute that menu… well, then what’s the point of the large menu in the first place? I think the menu choices were a solid fit, that match the décor and was pretty tasty. Our waitress was attentive, always checking back on the table and grabbing us drinks. Overall, I was satisfied with the new approach Silver Spring is trying to take.

I stopped in during the orioles game and was able to get their extended happy hour menu. From the HH menu I got old bay wings $ 8 and two crab cake sliders w/ff $ 12. Wings were crispy with a dusting of old bay. Pretty good. The crab cakes were full and fit the roll perfectly, without feeling bread(ie). The fries were a nice portion too. I will be back to try the crab pretzel. I’d like to see a .50 wing night for the 0’s games. ;-). I’d stop in more often.

I spent time in the recently redesigned bar area. Evan was great and makes a strong drink. My Bison burger was large, spiced well and came paired with plain but flavourful fries. The Interior reminds me of a classic American steak house with modern-industrial influences infused into a 1800’s western themed dining room. There is a sports bar in the basement and a separate dining room upstairs interconnected by a rear parking lot. 4-stars.
