The service is horrible. The place is ran by kids and there is no organization at all. You call an order in and they tell you 25 min. That’s fine. 25 min later you go in and they seem to panic, disappear and make your order. It gets slopped into a to go plate with food and grease all over the outside of the plate. You then have to check the order and wait on whatever they did not put in the first time. There is also always a line at the register to pay because the cashier is taking phone orders, being interrupted by the waitresses(in the middle of transactions) and having conversations with someone behind the person paying. An hour later, you get your order… no apologies either.

Stopped here based on reviews. We much support local businesses and this is family owned. The parking lot was full and looked like a lot of locals frequent the place. I ordered the Friday special — BBQ ribs with a side — corn on the cob. For 7.50 I thought I might get maybe 3 ribs. There were at least 8 very meaty, tender ribs. Jim ordered the fried catfish dinner that came with 2 sides — only 8.95! Not only was the cost inexpensive, the dinners were super good. Dustin, our server, said we must be passing through since the place was jumping with recognizable locals. Dinners came with a choice of peach or blueberry cobbler. The special did not include dessert but Dustin said that since it was our first time he would bring me dessert too. We chose one of each — both yummy. Dustin was extremely friendly and he made us feel like one of the locals. Anyone driving near Perry FL(SE of Tallahassee) make it a point to stop and enjoy a great meal.

We started with the combination appetizer plate. It included a sampling of about 6 of their choices and was plenty for 2 people to share. Very well done. We then shared the 3 meat dinner. Beef, chicken and pork ribs were our choices. While the beef was a bit dry for my liking, all choices had plenty of flavor. The available BBQ sauces were simple but flavorful. We also had a sweet potato and coleslaw as sides. Both good, but just average. We then finished with a modest portion of warm blueberry cobbler with whipped cream. It was a great finish for a fine meal. The place was packed, and while there were only a couple of servers, we had our meal on a good pace. All this for under $ 20!

Great small town BBQ joint. When driving through a small town your rule needs to be to look for the place with a wait. Fortunately we got the last open table during the dinner rush and didn’t have to wait. We started off with a young girl as a server who seemed to be having a bad day and was took a while to get our drinks until we had a second server who was a lot more attentive and willing to be our server. The food had great flavor. The bbq sauces tasted as if they were homemade. Don’t forget to ask for a cobbler at the end of your meal, it is included in the dinner platters.

Goodman’s is a very decent place to eat. The turkey, beef, chicken, ribs all good and up to the standard of barbecue. Some days better than others. Sides are maybe not so good for you however very good. Corn bites, broccoli bites, french fries all good. For me usually a drive thru the window Server is so kind and enjoy checking out. Oh yes the unsweetened tea… Great.

I don’t know where to begin… This place got two stars because I must of just had a rare experience because it appears the whole town of Perry is here scarfing down the plates of food in piles! We ordered hot wings, barbecue white meat chicken, rib special, cheeseburger and grilled cheese. My hubby eats anything and said his was«good»… Kids were starving from road trip and they liked the burger and grilled cheese. My chicken came sparsely in between two pieces of cold garlic bread with a few fries that looked plated like it was someone’s old plate of leftover fries… seriously. The waitress came to check on us and literally belched a burp like she had just shotgunned a beer in the kitchen. The place is filthy, health dept should be called. Keep driving!

I don’t understand how they got their 4 star rating. We came in and it took them 5 minutes to realize we where there. Another 5 minute wait on our drinks. their appetizers where horrid. Props on the fried green tomatos they where good. The ranch had chunks of god knows what in it. When we got our course we got the meat plater thing. All of it was dry like it was made early this morning. I won’t be coming back.

We go every March and October for the mud bog event in town every year. We asked the workers of the parts store where we should eat(small town, not much to offer) and they strongly recommended Goodman’s. The best part about this place are the prices. In 2016, there’s nowhere you’ll find a bbq sandwich for $ 3 and change. One person ordered 16 chicken wings for $ 8. I will agree with a few other reviews which say the food isn’t the«best» quality out there, but you can’t beat the amount of food you get for the price you pay. I also agree the service could use a little work but here again, for the price I’m paying, I’m ok with some average service and average quality food. Great place to check out if you are ever in the area.

Wow the pork rinds and fried green tomatoes will have us coming back again!!! Rinds were sooooooooo good. Fried green tomatoes batter was GREAT and the ranch was thick and some of the best we have had. Sweet tea was good, sweet, but not too sweet, and strong tea flavor. Husband and I split the 4 meat combo. Next time we will just stick to the ribs. They were tender, moist and flavorful. Next favorite for the meats was beef than pork. Turkey was ok, nothing bad, but not as good as the other meats. For our sides, bbq beans and slaw. Beans very good(smokey and sweet). Slaw, ok(lot of dressing with great flavor but watered down). The bread is perfectly toasted and nice and buttery on both sides. Finished the meal off with some peach cobbler. Sweet, but not overly sweet, with a great buttery taste. We also got another order of pork rinds to go :) Very friendly staff. Can tell this a place the locals eat. It was busy for an off time.

45 minutes for a pulled pork sandwich? Home fries that are just fries dredged in flour? Never once dud someone ask if we were OK or refill our drink. A tablespoon of coleslaw in a plastic ramekin is their idea of a side. I literally ate it in a bite. This place blows

Service was friendly but very slow. Not enough servers. Lots of food for the price but it was not quality meat. The peach cobbler as well as the beans were good and the sweet tea was also good. Not sure I would stop again. Takes to long and not worth the wait.

Upon the KOA Campground recommendation and Unilocal reviews we ordered take out from Goodmans of a rack of ribs, and fried green tomatoes. Must say the portion size is generous and a bargain. The ribs are Not fall of the bone tender nor are they baby back ribs. Tasty, but not tender. The FG tomatoes were delicious. The décor is spartan and sure can use an update and thorough cleaning. The kitchen area is visible from the cashier area. The doors and frames dirty, food on the floor, not a good impression of cleanliness.

In the area for a week, decided to try the best rated BBQ. When you pull up, it’s a pretty old looking building. We weren’t even sure if it was open. It was. Went in sat down and received our menus. Wow, couldn’t believe the prices. Made us wonder if the food could really be very good. I ordered the ¾ lb ribs with two sides. Excellent and less than $ 9. If you eat in house, you also get a small serving of either blueberry or peach cobbler. Hubby had the smoked turkey, again less than $ 9. He commented that you probably couldn’t even buy that much turkey in a deli for that price. Service was excellent. Be forewarned, the seating is in hard wooden benches. So, don’t let the building deter you. This was a great find.

Like many other Unilocalers, I stopped in here on my travels. What a great find! Great BBQ at a cheap price. Their sauces are home-made too. Think my beef brisket sandwich, drink and sides was less than 5 bucks. That’s some pretty fine eating for pretty cheap! Next time I’m going after the baby backs!

Stopped in here for lunch as I was passing through town on travel. The service was very friendly and the food cheap, but delicious. For an appetizer, I ordered fried pork skins with ranch and BBQ seasoning mixed, as suggested by my waitress. They were very fresh and tasty and came out crackling, which I thought was neat. I got the ribs at 2 pm, and was hesitant that they may not have been cooked long enough to be tender, but they were sufficiently tender and had a great flavor. Okra and sweet potato fries were yummy. Would definitely stop here again if I was in town. I couldn’t believe how much food I got for as little as I paid.

I found the service incredibly friendly and quick! I had their Friday special. ¾ lbs of their amazing fall-off-the bone ribs with a great smoky flavour. My fave was their sweet sauce. I had potato salad, coleslaw and garlic toast. It was generous and delicious. Oh…and free peach cobbler to go that was included with the dinner. All for $ 8. I couldn’t believe it! If you’re ever in the area, it’s absolutely worth the stop!

We took the advice of other Unilocalers and stopped for real Southern BBQ. So glad we did! Two of us ate all the way through dessert for $ 18! Salad had mixed greens, baked beans were homemade and to die for! Blueberry and peach cobbler were just the right bite of sweetness to end our meal. Nice and friendly people. Make this your stop on 98!
