This restaurant has CLOSED. I always enjoyed the food here. Service was nice and portions were great for the price. Outdated furnishings, but to me that just added to the ambiance.

Great southern home cooking. Homey atmosphere and friendly staff. So so so SAD to see this Perry landmark forced out of business. I hope the restaurant owner decides to open somewhere else in Perry. I would certainly follow such good food to a new location should she decide to do this. Thanks for all the great meals over the years!

Excellent Food! If you get here in time for breakfast, try the re-eye-gravey. All of the food is large in quantity and good. It looks to be a place for the locals… they KNOW where the food is good. Place probably has not been updated for many years but who cares when the food is great and the service is outstanding.

Steaks are not fresh, hand-cut. They are pre-packaged frozen meat. Restaurant was dirty, waitresses were dirty. Unpleasant experience, we didn’t even eat. Stomach was turned by the dirty tables and floors.

The Saturday afternoon began as we entered the near-only restaurant in Perry, Fl. We made our way to a booth and patiently waited for our server to come and initiate our dinning experience. We were soon greeted by a pudgy 11 year old child with ketchup and grease stains on his«Orange Crush» T-shirt. He slowly waddled down the table extending out his edemous t-Rex arms, offering each of us a menu. Shortly after a brief overview of the menu we discovered this diner does not«pounce» on the idea of breakfast foods. If you’re looking for breakfast keep moving.

This place is just what the doctor ordered! We had a delicious ribeye, the service was beyond great, and the restaurant wasn’t as rundown as I expected… I don’t know what the other Unilocal-ers were talking about. If you like desserts, you can’t leave Perry without trying one(or two). We had the key lime pie and the lemon merengue. Both of these were the best I’ve had in my life. So happy I walked in here.

Packed with locals on a Saturday afternoon. Large hamburger WAS large and hand patted. Pretty good. Fries were traditional crinkle cut but nice and hot and not greasy. Onion rings looked good. Nice selection of specials with veggies and dessert. Bathroom hasn’t been updated in at least 30 years :). I’d stop again. Nice wait staff.

We stopped here while on that long stretch of nothing along US19 from Tallahassee to St. Pete. It was one of the few options available at 7:30 on a Sunday night. Food: The adults all ordered burgers, and my daughter got a PB&J. We waited a bit for our food, even though there weren’t many people there. Our burgers were good, but the fries were bland and soft. My daughter’s PB&J was grilled, which was a bit odd, but she seemed to like it. Service: Everyone here was really friendly. They were out of a couple of items when we ordered, so we had to change what we’d planned to order. Then, a few minutes after our order went back, the waitress came back with the manager to inform us that they were also out of the things we had ordered, so we each had to change our orders again. To their credit, they were very apologetic about it and gave us a discount on our meal because of the trouble. The waitress was attentive throughout the meal. Ambiance: This place is basically a diner, so don’t expect anything fancy. It is a bit in disrepair, with big rips and huge dents in the pleather of one of the booths. It’s plain and simple, and exactly what it should be for a tiny restaurant in a tiny town in Florida. I like a little dive-ness in my diners, so I actually enjoyed the feel of the place. Overall, it’s a good place to stop for a rest on a long drive, but I wouldn’t make a trip just to go eat here.

We followed instructions-bathroom break at hotel and picked a table not a booth Had a ribeye-living dangerously! It was great and the baked sweet potato was good too The sweet tea was just that Not a fan of the peach cobbler Service was good We got a kick out of watching the local folks get in and out of booths versus tourists fall in the cavernous holes. LOL.

What a relief this place was. Found this little gem while traveling between Tallahassee and Tampa. The wait staff is friendly and the food is excellent. I had the biscuits & gravy and my wife a pancake. The coffee was tasty and orange juice is fresh. Our bill was less that $ 16 for the two of us.

This is a very nice place to grab lunch. The décor is very rustic and worn. The cook sure doesn’t care food great. my wife is very picky, but. she was able to get a plain turkey with american cheese on white bread. I had the pork lunch special with hot sauce. Very good. The sweet potato fries were best I’ve had in a long time actually sweet. If you want good food and don’t mind worn décor with load locals this is the place to eat in Perry, Fl. Really busy 11:30 to 12:30 parking lot packed

This was my first visit and I hope it will not be my last! The food was very good, prices well below average and the staff was fantastic. I ordered a salad, I know — so many other things to try there, and it was really quite good. The others in my party had a club sandwich, the fried catfish and the fried chicken dinners. They all raved at the quality of the food, and I was very impressed at the portions delivered! I am not sure how they stay in business with prices this low, but next time I am in Perry, this is a place I will visit!

We stopped in on a Sunday and I had the fried chicken special with green beans, mac & cheese with peach cobbler. My husband had ground steak, mashed potatoes and a salad. He enjoyed his meal and was happy that the mashed were homemade. My chicken was small pieces but cooked perfectly, the green beans were awesome and the peach cobbler. Mac & cheese tasted like American cheese, I prefer a good cheddar. So thumbs down on the mac, but it wasn’t the worst I’ve ever had. Seats are really worn down, never seen so many big people in one place before, which explains the HUGE dips in the seats. When we visited there was a good mix of folks and all were treated well. We would go back if we ever pass this way again.

This has to be the best in the area. The food was excellent freshly prepared. The restaurant needs a facelift. If this place was remodeled I would give it 5 stars.

This is small town in every way. Crowd is 99.7% Caucasian and that’s they way they want it. Good for typical greasy spoon menu items. Booth seating had not been updated in 50 years and floor and building show the wear. Food quantity is always good. Go to the bathroom before you get here or prepare to be grossed out. Don’t sit in the corner booths. They belong to the locals and you will be stated down if you do.

Yeah, 5 stars, really people? This is a friendly greasy spoon diner but not the kind with excellent food. I had the cat fish and the dinner came with 2 sides and garlic toast or a yeast roll. The fish was ok, very thin fillets, lightly breaded and fried. The server kindly brought me a nice pile of lemons to accompany it and they were needed to bring out some flavor. I also had a baked sweet potato, steamed really but it was a simple thing they couldn’t screw up, served with a cinnimon fake butter, push that to the side and just enjoy the potato. I love love Okra and stewed tomatoes and it was inedible. Flacid pieces of bacon floating in some sort of yellowish sauce(I think it was fat) enveloping the veggies, yeah not so much. The garlic bread was simply sliced white bread with some yellow stuff on it, my Mom would have called it Oleo, yeah I piled that onto the okra and pushed it all to the side. My dining companion had some unrecognizeable cut of steak, over cooked and tough. His greens also swimming in bacon fat and more oleo for his baked white potato, he said the best part of his meal was the yeast roll. I felt like going into the kitchen and showing them a few things to eliminate to make this place better. Get rid of the garlic toast, cut out the bacon in the veggies or perhaps just use a smaller amount and fry it up first, don’t just boil it into the veggies. Take the potatoes out of the foil and bake them, they just steam in the foil. It could be simple, not more expensive and much better. Let me at that stove! Again people here in this little town were very nice and I hope they do well but they would have to make some major changes to get 4 or 5 stars from me.
