Work around Tally Quincy Madison and Perry. I stopped in to work and grab a coffee. First of all; beautiful surroundings. Quaint and comfy. Bathroom for road warrior like me: 5 stars. Ev en has baby changing station. Coffee is outstanding. Very friendly and helpful staff. I didnt try the food but it smelled delicious. Just need more plugs for workers like me!

This is now The Toasted Mug. I ordered a triple shot chai tea with vanilla, my standard drink at every coffeehouse from chains to local places, and I always get a sweet drink, with a good kick of espresso. What I got this morning was a hot drink tasting of chalk and chemicals. I ended up pouring it out of the window, and going to Starbucks when I made it to Tallahassee. For $ 5 and a local coffeehouse, I expected more. I was also uncomfortably stared down as I entered the building, and wasn’t even greeted. I’m used to some employees/business owners in Perry not being too friendly to certain kinds of patrons, so I brushed it off and went ahead and ordered. Next time I’ll fix coffee at home, and head to work! The Toasted Mug will no longer be an option.

This is now The Toasted Mug. Owned by a lovely local Woman. Great place to grab a bite to eat and a tasty coffee. So cute inside, cozy with dark walls and comfy oversized chairs and couches– I’ll be visiting again!

We were driving through on our way to St. Petersburg and stopped here for coffee. What a great choice! The service was excellent, the people were friendly and the atmosphere was inviting. I also loved the many thoughtful blends and mixtures of coffee. What a nice break from the normal Starbucks run. If I’m ever in the area again, I would love to come back. :-)

We were directed to the Java Depot while shopping in downtown Perry(yes, they have a downtown) and we got hungry for a bite to eat. The JD is located in the old railroad depot off of Jefferson Street at the corner of Jefferson and Ellis toward the back of the Depot. They have a Facebook page. The atmosphere was warm, comfortable and friendly. The place is owned by a local pastor and his family. The coffee is GOOD. They also sell bags of the goods, Goat Mountain Coffee, and I was sorry they did not have any of the Southern Pecan coffee that they had for sale. It smelled heavenly. The frappes and smoothies are good. I got to taste the mango smoothie my niece had(she had two as did my nephew). They were delish. My sisters in law had mocha coffees, I had the breakfast blend coffee. In fact, we all had several. They have a big screen TV and free wireless access. Comfortable couches, plenty of tables and blueberry muffins and biscotti. Since the Florida-Florida State game was on, they brought in free wings, dip, chips, cookies and goodies for the patrons that day. We sat, drank, ate and chatted with local folks. My folks live in the area, so it wasn’t a long drive home. This is a great place for coffee, specialty drinks and snacks to go with. Friendly folks, good service, free wireless, TV and a very friendly and comfortable atmosphere. The coffee is great and the prices are reasonable. Coffee comes in 12 ounce and 16 ounce sizes. Try it out, shop local in Perry, FL. While there, you can also check out Johnson’s Bakery for the fresh donuts! YUM.
