North Bay Canine Rescue and Placement

Happy 8^th Birthday Jakey-​Bear!
We adopted our tri-​color aussie, Jake, from North Bay Canine in January 2001.
We didn’t have a choice because Ferghal had lost his tri-​color Bernese Mountain Dog mate, and he picked Jake out of the dozen or more dogs we met to replace our irreplaceable Harry.
We don’t really know Jake’s exact birthday, but it is around the beginning of April.
Because he is a silly, zany, irreverent, frustrating and always entertaining cray cray herdin’ dawg — we decided that his birthday MUST fall on April Fool’s Day.
Hollie, who runs NBCRP, sniffed us up, down and all around before she deemed us acceptable to bring home one of her beloved rescues.
The girl does not play — she came and examined our home and our yard. She asked us all kinds of questions and then said she’d be back with the dog another day.
We still hear from her periodically so she can be up to date on Jake’s where abouts.
She also has a policy that if for any reason, you are unable to keep your North Bay pup, she will take it back.
But we would never give up our Jake.
We ain’t no fools.
