If you are looking for fun art you need to come here. We were walking by when we noticed this great store and had to stop in. The man who works there(probably the owner) was really nice and not pushy at all, I hate when you go into any shop and they follow you around or try to force you to buy something. After was walked around the store and had a few laughs at the funny quotes we bought one of the paintings.

I thought this place was great. They are a bit pricer than I was hoping to spend, $ 39 a wood block and for 2, you save a dollar each, 3 you save another dollar, and lastly if you purchase 4 art blocks you save 3 dollars each for $ 36. The blocks are pretty high quality, supposed to be humidity and light proof so you’re able to throw the art in the bathroom or in direct sun light. It’s pretty easy to hang up, you can use the included screw or just a command strip, with the clear plastic hook. Those fit perfectly. Anyway, they have some pretty cool artists. It’s like artsy animé drawings if you’re into that stuff. They recently had a new japanese digital artists with some really bad ass stuff. Unfortunately they don’t have that much in stock. I guess they order a handful of a few prints from each artist and then if they sell out or someone wants one from the book gallery of the artist, they’ll just order. It’s supposed to take 2 weeks for orders to come in. I may be biased because I’m really into digital or graffiti type art that you may find a street artist selling, but I don’t want to pay $ 200 — $ 300 for a canvas painting. If I had the disposable income to spend to do that, I gladly would for art I like. Unfortunately, I don’t so I’m stuck with Woodblock art blocks. They dimensions are pretty standard, I guess for people that collect a certain artist. If you put them up around your apt, they’ll be the same size. You are able to order more expensive larger blocks, and if the print is non standard, depending on the company, it may either be cropped or a non traditional wood block size. Canvas prints are also available and these range from $ 200 +. If you want to buy the actual paintings they have there, they range from $ 250+ to upwards of $ 3500. All in all, if you like pop art, digital art, or even some local philly photographs and only want to spend $ 39ish per. This is a great place to go. If you want larger prints, those are also available to order.

I LOVETHISPLACE. There is something for everyone, from contemporary to animé to animals to Philadelphia landmarks to old-school tin art. The owner was super nice and he has excellent taste in music. He was more than willing to show us around and tell us about the history of the place and of the artwork. Definitely stop by for a refreshing cultural treat.

I was in town visiting and drove by this art shop and thought it looked so neat that I stopped in the next day. The staff was real nice and I ended buying a couple of small pieces. Neat store to check out…

I’ve been curious but hesitant to walk in here for several years. But Carrie’s review piqued my interest so I decided to give it a try. And it definitely delivered 3 great rooms of distinct art styles. The first room was retro and vintage tins that displayed plenty of things that we’ve all seen before. Old ad’s for Coca-Cola, retro looking tins with hilarious adages(scope out Carrie’s review), and vintage comic prints(Any body want to buy me the Batman tin for my birthday?). And the fact that could walk home with most of them for $ 15 was pretty amazing. The second room was for huge art prints that were pretty damn unique and stain proof. A little on the pricey side especially since the majority were reprints. But any of the pieces would really tie a room together. Overall I’d give the place 4 stars if it weren’t for the third room. It was exclusive to the work of Philadelphia Artists, and it had plenty of pieces that I’ve seen on the First Friday circuit. The pieces were all pretty unique and none of them went for over $ 500 which was pretty reasonable in most cases. I definitely have to thank the attentive workers inside who were able to walk me through every room with a detailed summary. I’ll definitely be back!

What a fun place to shop for decorative art! I stopped in because I wanted a little something whimsical for my kitchen and tada! They have a big selection of tin signs that were just what I was looking for. I ended up going with a retro, 1950’s looking one that says«Unattended children will be given espresso and free kittens.» My kids think it’s a reward. My husband and I just nod, smile and laugh quietly to ourselves. Ahhh, the joys of parenthood. Absolute Pop is attached to Absolute Abstract, so if you want something bigger than this place’s smaller art(they also carry many art blocks and wood signs) you can just pop next door. The guys that work there are incredibly helpful and friendly and made my shopping experience a real treat. Thanks, boys! Espresso and free kittens for everyone!
