Ben and Betsy’s Coffee and Gifts

Went to a special pre-​fix brunch. It isn’t their normal offering, but it should be. It was delicious! The place itself, is not large, but it is very charming.

This gift shop/​convenience store hybrid was conveniently located beside Hotel Monaco and was great for grabbing a quick coffee to go. The store owner is really nice, but the coffee is just standard filter.

Yayyyyy! Got my shot glass from Philly! I’m not a coffee drinker, and that’s fine because I’m a shot drinker! And they had shot glasses for … Well not days, but they had about 5 different types to choose from!
What more can I ask! I’m happy we found this place early! Not to enjoy the rest of the night!

The front suggests it’s a café but it really is a souvenir shop with a couple of tables added in the back, and coffee from the thermos. I found it very disappointing.

Nice quiet spot to get some coffee and a sandwich, nothing to extravagant but the owners are really nice. This place was the only coffee shop open in the morning so it was an obvious choice, but I was not disappointed. They also have some nice art on the wall.

Had cinnamon+apple tea with honey and a piece of cheesecake which I think are tasty. It was quiet with only some light music on. Ben is really nice. Love this place.

This place isn’t bad for a quick breakfast. We had a couple breakfast sandwiches and they were pretty good. We also had a latte and a cappuccino, however, don’t expect a fancy coffee shop coffee. It was not what I anticipated, but not bad by any means.
The people who run it are very nice and were very attentive, however, I probably won’t be back unless I’m in a hurry and just want a sandwich to go.

Was in between business meetings downtown and arranged to meet my contact here. The café is comfortable, wifi is free and plenty of room to setup the laptop! Breakfast sandwich and the fancy coffee was excellent. Service is personal and caring. What else do I need for a business meeting downtown? Maybe a printer :-)

Went here with my mom last Saturday morning. Ben and Betsy were so damn cute! The front of the restaurant is a type of souvenir shop and in the back there are some tables for waitress (Betsy) service. The feel of the restaurant is quite homey which welcomes a relaxed atmosphere. We both ordered breakfast sandwiches and they were delicious and SO cheap! A win-​win situation. Can’t wait to go visit my mom again so we can go back here.

Walking in, it’s hard to tell exactly what Ben and Betsy’s is. They’re sort of a gift shop /​convenience store hybrid in the front with all the usual touristy tsotchkes for sale– Postcards, t-​shirts, an odd rack of ties, a cooler of ice cream, etc. Walk through the front to a small counter, and hidden in back are a few small tables and a little couch where you can sit and sip coffee.
I had a dark roast coffee and an egg and cheese on a bagel. The sandwich was pretty tasty — exactly what I was looking for in a quick breakfast sandwich. Coffee was fine. They had a bunch of local art on the wall to admire while you sip and snack. But also in the little café area is what appears to be their work desk with computer, printer, and paperwork stacked up.
The couple running the shop seemed like very nice people, and like I said, the sandwich was pretty good. I really want to like Ben and Betsy’s. The set-​up is just really odd. 3.5 stars for food, 2 stars for atmosphere/​environment.
