I used to hear about Sikira through the African community. From what I heard it was supposedly the best African club in Philly. So I’m out with this breezy and she decides we should go there. her treat. We’re driving down the street and she told me to turn in a parking lot after I had already circled the block. I don’t see a club. I see an Auto Zone parking lot. The club is apparently behind the Auto Zone. It was a slow night(Saturday) because there were only a few cars in the parking lot. We waited for a while and finally went in. First off it’s in the basement of some building. Once you get past security and enter the«club» you will find cheap cheesy furniture and décor. There was no DJ booth. I don’t know if it was under renovation or what the case was but they set up a table near the restroom entrance and the DJ mixed from there. Reminded me of basement parties we used to have back in the day(east coast thing). The bar wasn’t fully stocked. There was limited variety of drinks however the cocktails were strong so that’s a plus. And when we’re talking about African women you have a abundance of big bubble butts in there. It was an ok experience but it was nothing like what I expected it to be. Might be a Philly thing.

I went to Club Sikira a week ago and it took me a few days to calm down and write this review. I went to there last Friday with a friend, Nicole to see an African Pop singer named Amy Coco at the recommendation of a friend in London. Club Sikira is located in Southwest Philly in a nondescript warehouse. It has a secured parking lot and it’s an after hours private club open late, late. We arrived there around midnight and after paying a $ 20 membership fee, we entered the club which was located in the basement of the building. Besides staff, there was about 6 people there. I was a little puzzled, but the club started filling up and around 1:30 it was in full force! The spot was nicely decorated with 3 bars and a large dance floor with a gaggle of cocktail tables and a VIP section. We saw the Artist and she invited us to sit with her behind the velvet rope where the champagne was flowing and cameras were clicking. Now here’s what kept me from writing this review last week, the women there dressed so slutty, danced so sexy that I was lost for words! That crowd of young people danced so suggestively, they made Dirty Dancing seem like o pack of Kindergartens performing ballet! Everyone was shaking, grinding, winding, and humping like 2 teenagers in heat and on Ecstasy and roofies! And how the girls got all that juicy, African, Motherland ass in those tight jeans is a mystery suited for Colombo! My eyes didn’t know which one to focus on. I was like a Nerd at a Star Trek convention, a junkie locked in a pharmacy over night, a cop left alone at Dunkin Donuts, or Simon Cowl in a mirror factory. It reminded me of the dancing when I visited Cuba and when I asked my friend to dance she said«no way!» I guess Americans are a little too inhibited. Amy Coco was great, but the sound system was a little muddy and that’s why 4 stars instead of 5. I can’t wait to go back again and I’m practicing that move the guys do where you hoist one of your legs in the air while dry humping your lady’s rear end like a horny pony would.
