This is the traditional local deli, «mom and pop”-style place in south Philly. But be warned, they’re cash only. Whenever I’m feeling lazy or indecisive for lunch, I usually pop in here. Meat eater? Rejoice! They rock daily specials. Cheese fan? They have an extensive slice-to-order deli as well as macaroni and cheese Fridays. Check their homemade fridge for a varying hummus and side dishes selection.

You may hear tons of hype about Passyunk Ave but the best sandwiches in the neighborhood are here. They just made me a chicken cutlet caprese that is blowing my mind. Everything is always fresh and delicious. But most importantly, Dew’s Deli captures the heart of what a neighborhood deli should be: a friendly meeting spot where you find out what’s going on and feel connected to your community. This place is basically Cheers without the booze. There is no place to eat in, so grab your sandwich and head to the fountain benches for some prime people watching.

Dew’s is my go-to place for hoagies. You definitely get your money’s worth here. There’s no skimping on the meat or toppings and everything is always fresh. The ladies who work there are always as friendly and pleasant as can be. On top of the great food and service, they also carry Stock’s pound cake!

Dew’s is a perfect example of what’s wrong with the Unilocal/foodie/pr herd in this town. One of the best roast beef sandwiches in town. Ever heard of it? Nope. Roast pork that runs with the big boys. Know that? Of course not. Most elite Unilocalers wouldn’t know foie gras from dog food if it didn’t have a $ 35 price tag.

Anywhere but Philadelphia, this place would be surrounded by hype. I guess we just have too many good sandwiches available to us. It’s a little deli that has some Mediterranean stuff in addition to the normal hoagie stuff. I just stopped in for an Italian and the one I had here was pretty great. Also worth noting is that their prices are much less than most hoagie shops in South-Philly. I suppose the more popular they get, the faster that will change.

Used to live a block from here and I miss it! Great shop. Polar seltzer! Hummus and kalamata olives! The ladies who work here are awesome, too.

We love this deli:) Definitely worth walking the few extra blocks to get my cold cuts and odds and ends. When I saw the lady haul out the giant BelGioiso sharp provolone I knew I would be back. Hoagies, the horseradish potatoe salad, the tempting pastries at the front counter. all yummy. I also know they make hot dishes like sausage and peppers which is on my list to try. The ladies who man the counters are wonderful. So sweet and always with a smile and… they remember what you like!

Yup. Love this place. Great corner store, with all the normal expected bodega sorts of stuff, and a whole lot more!

We love Dew’s Deli! They have a wonderful variety of sandwiches that are super fresh. I personally love the grilled caprese hoagie and the grilled veggie hoagie. My husband is obsessed with the old world Italian hoagie(full of Italian cold cuts). Dew is of Lebanese descent and also makes killer hummus, spinach and meat pies, kibbeh, and other Mediterranean foods. Joanna makes fresh soups each day that soooo delicious! Lastly — the customer service is wonderful and the ladies really lift up your spirits each time you go in. Here is a review from the Passyunk Post!
