Freedom Federal Credit Union

This review is pertaining to the branch located at Princeton & Tulip street in Philadelphia.
I would never… ever open an account with this Credit Union! My elderly mother has an account and I’m the son who help her out financially with paying her bills. I mostly make cash deposit into her account, and use their online bill pay to pay her bills. On one occasions when she needed to withdraw money, and what seem to be the simplest was for her to write a check payable to me for a certain amount, but when she wrote the check she forgot that Netflix had taken out $ 7.99, and oh boy! The tellers acted like it was a major conspiracy going on, it took 3 tellers 15 minutes to hover around one computer monitor and whisper about her account before telling me that she didn’t have enough in her account to cover the check, Oops! that damn $ 7.99 came out for Netflix!
I am the face of her account, in over 6 years she have never step foot into this branch, I’m in there 1 or 2 times a month, but every time I go there I feel like a stranger going there for the first time. This branch is never crowded, I have never seen more than 2 or 3 people in there at one time, but the average in and out time is about 4 – 8 minutes for a simple transaction. Either only one teller is open or you’ll have 2 or 3 tellers serving 1 customer while you wait. (I guess like my experience above).
I’ve also visited the branch inside of Sears located at Bustleton & Bleigh ave and the tellers there have no customer service skills, don’t try to start any small talk while at the window… weather, new look of the credit union etc. They just seems angry, maybe because it’s mostly on a weekend when I visit this branch and they rather be somewhere else.

Freedom credit Union is the best credit union. I have been with them since 2007. I also made accounts for my children when they were younger and they still have the accounts today. I have never had a complaint. they get to know their customers very well. I believe they know I am not a shopper and one Christmas I shopped a lot and they called me to make sure it was me making the purchases. That really impressed me. They are always so courteous and helpful when you call the office or visit. If it was not for them and their courtesy pay when times got rough while I was in school I would not have finished school and received my Bachelors degree. Freedom Credit Union is the best ever. If there was a reward they deserve it.

I have been banking here since 2008 and I never experienced any problems, I have always had wonderful service and always a good transaction here. I do all my banking needs here and I even have my student loans from here, I hope to continue doing business with Freedom!
