I couldn’t be more pleased with the way the staff of FRMD handled my conservation project. Upon rifling through some inherited auction catalogs from my late grandmother’s collection, I decided to seek out an establishment with a culture reflecting my own sentimentality towards family heirlooms and the New York School. The owner of the shop took particular care in breathing life back into a signature from Warhol’s final days. I appreciated his art deco aesthetic with modern satin mat board, and look forward to future collaborations on a collection of national park surveys and golden Chimu breast plates. To be continued…

I had two paintings framed here and was pleased with the service and the end result. What sets this frame shop apart from others I have been to is that I had access to frame and mat samples and could lay my paintings out on a large table and try out different combinations until I found the one I thought worked the best. In other frame shops, I’ve always had to ask to see the different samples because they were behind the counter, out of reach. I couldn’t try different things but here, I could. I didn’t feel any pressure to make a decision quickly and the owner was very helpful. Everything is archival quality so I know there won’t be any yellowing or aging. The paintings I brought in are very old so I was concerned about that.

The frame and matboard samples are plentiful here, almost overwhelming. However, the owner, Chris, guided me through my selection process and I was happy for the advice. From the consultation, to the finished product, I and my artwork were treated with white glove service. Chris does meticulous work and his prices are fair. I will definitely be coming back to FRMD.
