lived in the area all my life and first time visiting here. Quick, clean. friendly service. Food was good. Like home cooked. Definitely coming back.

I come here when I’m in town visiting Grandma. This place reminds me of a diner type but homey… I missed that back in the days of my diner adventures, these places don’t really exist anymore in Brooklyn. The service and the breakfast here is excellent. Simple, easy, no hassle, love it! It’s inexpensive.

I’ve been coming here since I was a teenager. This place serves solid, no-frills breakfast food. The pancakes are delicious. I’ve never had a bad meal here, although I’ve only ever eaten their breakfast. The service is efficient and the food hits the spot. I certainly recommend it for a quick, cheap and simple breakfast.

We eat lunch here frequently and are never disappointed. Good solid food, good service and reasonable prices. The soups are the best. Nothing exotic, typical diner food, but clean and quickly delivered. Breakfast is good as well. Haven’t had dinner here in a long time, so can’t judge. They do takeout too.

I have only had breakfast here, but the Green Leaf is a typical diner. Nothing extravagant, however still good. The coffee is not my favorite, but the omelets are solid and the pancakes are excellent. The waitstaff is very friendly, it is fairly clean and the food is very affordable. Really just your basic stuff here, so don’t go expecting anything over the top, just expect solid food and good service for a descent price.

It’s a basic diner, run by a family that has owned it for a long time. I’m gonna say part of why I like it is because while nearly every other great restaurant in Greater Overbrook ran away/closed as white people moved away, Green Leaf stayed and today is the only place I know of like it where you can see a diverse group of diners, proving that as long as you have customers with money to pay for service you can make money with a diner in any neighborhood. So shame on other places for arbitrarily closing down because of «the neighborhood». Food is always good, nothing fancy or innovative. Consistently good diner fare, especially at breakfast, and service and getting your food is usually quite fast. Long live Green Leaf in middle class Overbrook Park.

Average food and pretty good prices. But the cashier could not be any ruder does not even thank customers. I won’t go back.

My best friend looooooves this place… so I go for her, but this place is PLAIN. It’s clean, the servers are friendly and all that… it’s just too REGULAR for my taste. Too much pork served here too… ICK!!! They serve your typical pancakes, eggs, or french toast breakfast and don’t attempt to do anything special or different with it. How BORING!! On top of that, they don’t have GRITS for breakfast. I’ve been here quite a few times, but it was always FORCED.

On opening day my office ordered lunch specials from Green Leaf. There were about 7 of us and we were eager to take advantage of their $ 6 — $ 7 lunch specials(entrée, chicken fried rice(or white), choice of soup). The staff does not seem to have any previous restaurant experience and the manager was unable to assist when things went south. Our order was incomplete and incorrect, we were overcharged and it took over 1 hour to get our takeout food. A party of 6 was seated by the entrance. As their waiter walked towards them with a tray full of water glasses he faltered and spilled the entire tray on himself & his patrons. At the same time a woman walked in and asked if her takeout order was ready. No one had taken down her name, so the cashier gave her a blank stare and said, «What did the guy on the phone sound like? Was it him?(pointing at the soaked server)» Another guy walked in for takeout and it was at this point that the cashier started hitting himself in the face with a menu and muttering something to himself. The food was heavy on the sauce, but not too greasy. The portions were a great deal for the price. We’ll most likely be back to see if they’ve worked through their first day jitters. Their credit card machine is in the basement. That seems shady to me, so I’ll be sticking with cash only at this establishment.

Nothing Special, the lunch special may be worth it for $ 7.00 but when you roll in for takeout and its gonna cost ya $ 12 for a chicken entrée, you tend to expect more. The General Tso’s is Good, definately quality but nothing to die over, and the space is small and cozy, but without delivery I’ll probably not be stopping down too much. This location is a black spot on Manayunk. Ben and Jerry’s, Cavo, and now Green Leaf. If your using a Credit Card for takeout expect to wait, I think thier terminal is in the basement.

If you are looking for standard diner type food, Green Leaf Restaurant is probably your best bet. My suggestion would be to go only for the breakfast food(only served until 1pm). They don’t offer much of an overall breakfast selection but the service is good and your get your order rather quickly even when it is packed(usually on Saturday and Sunday mornings). The staff is friendly and the breakfast food is abundantly affordable(a breakfast for two people is easily under $ 12). The lunch menu is pretty decent and affordable but I would stay away from the dinner menu… definitely not their finest.
