ordered general chicken for take out asked for extra sauce, the lady who answered said there’s a charge for extra sauce. I said wait what you know who I’am I come here very often, her answer after a chuckle was its not me its the computer. I decided not to order that dish and went with something else. When I arrived no hello, a very unfriendly look this lady gave me. she swiped my credit card and it was time for me to go she stood there without saying thank you(I hate that) So I said your welcome no response from her and I know she heard me. I decided to get my money back and this rude women pretended to not know how to give me my refund back on her credit card machine she took what seemed like forever. I got tired of waiting and stormed out with food I no longer wanted. There nice when taking your money rude as all hell when asked for a refund. I Will never return, I will take my money where it’s appreciated!!!

Went there and ordered take out. The place was clean, staff was friendly, and it took about 15 minutes to get our order after we placed it there when walking in. Food tasted really good, same old as any other Chinese place though. Enough food for leftovers for the next day! I ordered the General Tso’s Chicken with White Rice and Curried Chicken Dumplings! — Yum :)

My favorite Japanese/Chinese restaurant. Always intimate and dimly lit. Date, Celebration and Family friendly. Food always fresh and now they are BYOB but beware of corkage and ice fees added onto bill. The unlimited tea is always a plus :)

Delicious. Wife and daughter had beef and broccoli, I had spicy tuna roll and black bean chicken. Mmmm Damn good. Even if the black bean sauce had a slight burnt taste to it.

Excellent ambiance and exceptional service. This is truly one of Philadelphia’s hidden treasures. I’ve been coming here since they had live music. Always greeted by our friend, cheerful Mr. Fong! Sushi is always fresh and prepared to perfection. Please try the seafood party and you won’t be sorry. I love this place. They have withstood the test of time and still continue to deliver delicious cuisine after all these years.

Absolutely loved the food! Now that’s authentic Chinese cooking for you. The soup was excellent and my food was great. It is kinda pricy but the one thing I hated was the %18 gratuity I don’t understand why it’s the high for a party of two

We tried half of the Peking duck, orange beef, Jin’s sampler, cucumber roll and salmon roll, very is great. The service is great. The food’s taste and quality are better than the restaurants in Chinatown! If you haven’t try it yet, it worth the try!

We always get takeout and we pretty much have our go-to meals, but we’ve always been satisfied. The sesame chicken is not breaded which I love and it’s in a tasty peanut sauce. Spicy seafood soup has just the right bit of heat and is full of seafood and veggies. The orange chicken is delicious, but over breaded for my taste, but my husband likes it. Fried rice is good and not too greasy. I can’t really speak to the atmosphere of the restaurant, but our take out or delivery is always ready in a timely manner.

Interestingly enough — I posted a review just last month in September, 2014, but its has been removed. My question is Why? My statement was brief; to the point, true and gave an accurate account of our dining experience while at House of Jin. While the service was slow and inattentive, the food that I was served was inedible. I ordered a whole steamed fish, steamed rice and string beans. The fish was served half cooked with all of the scales and fins still on it. The fish had not been cleaned! !! One bite of the fish and I had a mouth full of fish scales. It was repulsive! My dinner and evening was ruin. I declined the offer of a different dish and left the establishment without eating anything. Never again will I dine there, and I consistently warn others about my unsanitary horrible dining experience that I had at the House of Jin. It appears that FOOD is not their priority!

We ordered take-out, so I can only speak to the food not location or décor. The Kung-pao chicken was great tender with sauce that had sort of marinated into the chicken a little and just the right amount of veggies. The chicken and broccoli had the true chinese taste per my boyfriend who is chinese so that’s high praise.

The food was horrible! Everything taste processed… sauces were too thick… and the Shrimp Wonton Broth tasted just like soy sauce poured in the bowl. When I went up to the register to pay for my food with my credit card, I filled out the slip and cross out tipline Because I had a twenty dollar in my hand to change and leave a tip from… Well no sooner than I drew a line through the tip line, the lady at the register rudely said«NO TIPa!!!» Mind you, she wasnt even the one who served me. and the bill was in my hand. OMGoodness! How rude!!! I said to her… that’s what cash is for… and she never apologized… NEVERAGAIN!

They have a cheap chinese lunch special that comes with soup: 6.95−7.95. Also have some sushi specials which are pricey. I went with my standard chicken with broccoli which had quite the funky taste, luke warm, and took 3 minutes to cook. It left me nauseous for the rest of the day, and took way too long to digest. The layout of the restaurant was interesting, and I would like to add that the staff was super friendly here. It was eerily big, and utterly empty during lunch.

I’m not picky and the garlic chicken dish I purchased was almost inedible. C’mon, it’s Chinese food…

We ordered from here yesterday for the first time, and I was VERY impressed! The women who answered the phone was great. She offered suggestions, was very knowledgeable about the menu(I don’t eat pork, so I was very excited to hear that the won ton soup was all chicken!) Our order was delivered SO fast, I couldn’t believe it! We ordered won ton soup, dim sum shrimp, spring rolls, moo shu chicken, chicken lo mein and szechuan shirmp. Everything was so fresh and hot and delicious! We will definitely be ordering from here again !

I can not believe this place would receive any sort of positive review. I ordered take out: sesame chicken and the crab and cheese wontons. Probably the worst Chinese food I have ever had. No flavor in the peanut sauce. The chicken is nothing more than bits and pieces. Fries rice is nothing special. The wontons were not even worth eating after the first bite. Do not waste your money.

My four stars are for the sushi. And I would give for more to their hot and sour soup. We’ve never strayed from the sushi menu, which is consistently excellent. fresh, beautifully prepared and reasonably priced $ 6 for two pieces per order. It’s worth a try if you’re in the area.

We had been apartment hunting, were exhausted and incredibly hungry — House of Jin was the first place we found. When we arrived, we were seated straight away, but we waited for 15 minutes before even our drink order was taken. When we finally ordered, I stuck to what I usually believe to be «easy, generic food» — Moo Goo Gai Pan. My husband ordered a beef and broccoli dish. When our food arrived, it was cold. No, I don’t mean lukewarm, I mean cold. The sauce in my chicken dish was congealed and very heavy. The chicken was tasteless and had a rubbery texture. My husband found a couple of pieces of undercooked beef in and a still-frozen piece of broccoli in his dish. To say I was unimpressed would be an understatement. I did not have the sushi, so I can’t comment on that. However, if you’re looking for good Chinese food, this probably isn’t the place to go.

This review is ONLY based on the Chinese food, NOT the sushi. We were at a friends house and we wanted takeout. They suggested this place for Sushi, but I was in the mood for Chinese. They admitted they only ever ordered Sushi from House of Jin, but I figured even cheap greasy Chinese food still tastes pretty decent … I have now changed that belief. The Chinese food I received from here was awful. I ordered Sesame Chicken, but I’m not sure what I was eating. If this was chicken, it was unlike any chicken I have ever had in my life. The chicken was very dry and chewy and then smothered in a watery brownish sauce that tasted burnt and overly peanut-y. Even the fried rice wasn’t good. I think they used the dried veggies from a cup of noodles container, mixed it with yellow rice, and then over-cooked it until it was crusty dry. If you are thinking of getting Chinese food, Avoid this place. If you want Sushi, give it a shot. I didn’t eat the Sushi, but everyone else seemed to enjoy their sushi dishes.
