I highly recommend iClean for repairs, like, say, to repair a broken zipper on a pair of jeans. Times were tough last winter and I put on a few pounds. Nevertheless, I needed some new pants and, for some reason, decided it was time to try jeggings. It took me some time to understand that jeggings are stretchy by design and conform to your shape, therefore, there is no «breaking in period». They either fit or they don’t. It was during what I thought was the«breaking in period» that I busted the zipper: my chub fought the pants and the chub won. It was comical when it happened but I was still bummed about not being able to wear my new duds. Fast forward to last week when I came across my busted zipper jeggings, tried them on and determined that they’d actually fit if the dang zipper worked. Woo! All I had to do was find a tailor/alterations place. My part of town is seriously lacking a place like this, so I decided to try one close to my office. I’m a big supporter of organic dry cleaning, so, choosing from the Unilocal map of tailors in close proximity to work, I went with iClean. I later realized then that this is LJ’s alterations spot. She takes all of her vintage dresses here and they always look great, so I knew I was in good hands. Last Thursday, I brought in my jeans and the woman working there said they would be ready by Tuesday. When I picked them up today, the zipper installation and attention to detail was flawless. My jeans also appeared to be ironed, which was really sweet of them(especially since I know that they had been crammed in a drawer for the last six months). When I got home, I tried them on and found that they wear like a comfortable, reasonably-fitting glove! The zipper says«AE» on it, but as long as the job holds up, I don’t care. $ 17 and worth every penny! Thanks iClean!

As a dirty hippie, I don’t get a lot of dry cleaning done, but when I do, I like it to be organic(clean hippie!), so this is where I go. I’d been getting my alterations done elsewhere, but I wanted to give iClean a try because it’s closer to my apartment & I can take care of 2 things at once there. I just bought 3 new-to-me dresses from the 60s, & only 1 needed to be altered. She did a great job – shortened it to just the right length, reinforced all the hooks & snaps, then cleaned it. It’s perfect, I can’t wait for spring to wear it! I have a few vintage dresses from last summer that are now too big on me(!!!), I’ll be taking them here, as well. Highly recommend.

I live 3 blocks from this store and was thrilled to find them out around 2 years ago. They are owned by a couple who seem very meticulous with their alterations(I so far had my suit, black tie dress, sun dress, multiple pants altered there) with a surprisingly affordable cost. Compared to the other dry cleaners nearby on Walnut ST and Sansom ST, this place is much more organized and the clothes come back somewhat more cleaner feeling and neater. I would never go back to other places.

I felt like I was cheating on my regular place. I went here because my schedule was tight and I needed a place that was close to my office. But, they did a decent job, the price seemed on par and the turnaround time was okay, so I’m happy to have a back-up place. Their attention to detail is not quite what I’m used to, though: for example, the linings in a couple pairs of my wool pants were pressed kind of twisted. They worked themselves out after wearing for a bit, of course, but it was a little annoying at first. So, not bad… more of a 3.25 or so than a three, and they’re still newish, so maybe???

Dry cleaner with tailoring on 10th Street. They advertise as an organic dry cleaner. I have no idea what that is, but I do know that they will do 24 hour dry cleaning if necessary and are conscientious about completing my requested minor repairs(hems, torn corners of pockets, etc.). They offer 10% off on Saturdays and are open on Sunday mornings.
