One of Philly’s coolest annual events is the Kensington Kinetic Sculpture Derby and Arts Festival. Thousands of people come out to enjoy the colorful atmosphere on the old cobblestoned Trenton Avenue in East Kensington. But the festivities also spread out to other spots in the surrounding neighborhood. The highlight is undoubtedly the wacky bicycle parade. The bikes have all been imaginatively«artsified» with various funny themes and they then proceed through the East Kensington and adjoining Fishtown neighborhoods before ending up at the mud pit on Norris Street. There’s music, there’s food, there’s art, and there’s mud. Welcome to the Kensington Kinetic Sculpture Derby and the Trenton Avenue Arts Festival!
