Found this place on Instagram 6 months before moving in the area and was very excited to try it. My dad and I got the crab roll and lobster roll and Lobster bisque. The rolls were served cold. That was a surprise but I guess that’s how they do it on the east coast. The rolls were very very small too. The lobster bisque was my favorite. Don’t skip out on it!

I was Unilocaling happy hour specials and Luke’s Lobster came up. I couldn’t find a happy hour menu online so I decided to just wing it. The place was pretty easy to find. It’s garden level, darker inside but the décor was pretty, minimal and reminded me of summer. The bathroom was clean. They had vases filled with fresh flowers on the tables. I could see this as a cute, casual date spot. When I got there, I found out that a) they didn’t have a happy hour menu and b) it’s BYOB. I had one hour before I had to be at the airport so I just ordered a lobster roll and soup combo($ 24ish). It came with a lobster roll, clam chowder, a side of slaw and a drink. At first glance, it didn’t really look like a lot of food for the money. However, it hit the spot and I left feeling happy with my choices. I’m no expert when it comes to lobster rolls but Luke’s was amazing and $ 10 cheaper than the lobster roll from Oyster House.

Omg I am speechless. This was my first time eating here and I can’t wait to go back! Last night, I was feeling Crabby; so I got the crab sandwich. And mannn was it good. Their sandwiches are right to the point. What I mean by that is that there are no distractions such as lettuce, and there is just enough mayonnaise! The sandwiches are full of pure meat. One thing I did not expect was the portion size. This is NOT a place to go to if you’re starving. The sandwiches are kind of small. This location does provide seating, but the inside is very small. Saturday night was not crowded at all.

Wow this place was amazing. Hard to find, I walked right by because you have to walk down steps to get in. I had the crab sandwich and it was every bite amazing! And even though the location I went to didn’t have microbrews, I was able to go around the corner and grab a beer to come back and drink with my sandwich.

I finally get to try Lukes Lobster. We actually have 2 locations in DC but I haven’t ventured out there to try them. Imagine my surprise to find one half a mile from our hotel. Driving down the street we actually drove right by it. It can be a little hard to spot since the sign is in silver and u actually walk down a few steps to get to it. We found side parking on the street near Rittenhouse Square Park. It’s only like a block from the restaurant. Being that it was a Sunday and a holiday weekend the restaurant wasn’t overly crowded. We decided to crab food to go since we had a baby and a large stroller with us. It didn’t look like there was much room for all that in there. We ordered the lobster roll and lobster bisque. Oh my so so good. The roll was buttery and crisp overflowing with large lobster chunks lightly seasoned with thier seasoning and mayo. Needless to say we devoured it. Now I’m normally NOT a fan of lobster bisque at all but the lobster bisque here is in a whole different league. I actually liked the way it tasted and the best part? They actually had more huge chunks of lobster in it. Great job Lukes. If you haven’t had Luke’s you must come here.

Oh what an amazing little gem! I love simple menus, not too many choices, everything done right. I also love when restaurants commit to their theme, and Luke’s really takes you to Maine with its cute benches, and rustic feel. Though obviously the food is the most important part, and they deliver. There are a few ways to approach eating here, the taste of Maine is a great option that lets you try every roll. They also have combos, rolls plus soup and your choice of chips or slaw. I was seriously in the mood for a lobster roll, and got the clam chowder/roll combo. Though I will try to Taste of Maine next time. The best lobster roll I have ever had. It was overflowing with huge chunks of lobster, perfectly toasted roll, just a little bit of mayo, and their seasoning. I could have eaten a million, I could eat one every day for the rest of my life… I could go on and on. The clam chowder was also very good, and hearty. It did not look like a great deal of food when it came out but it filled me up! The slaw wasn’t great, so I’d suggest the chips option! Everyone working there was friendly and helpful, and the food comes out quickly! Plus its BYOB. Bottom line is that you have to try this great little restaurant, you have to get the lobster roll, heck get two or three.

The small lobster roll is a slice of bread with some admittedly very tasty lobster. But for $ 16? Very interesting collection of eclectic sodas!

Five stars. Absolutely amazing. We came here for dinner after plans to go to a different restaurant didn’t work out, and I’m so glad we did. It’s set up more like a café, but that’s no indication of the quality of food. We ordered the Noah’s Ark(to split between two people– it comes with two half rolls of lobster, crab, and shrimp rolls, 4 crab claws, drinks, and chips/slaw. Each of the rolls was equally mind-blowing. The roll itself was super buttery and warm when it came out, and the crab, shrimp, and lobster was delicious. Everything was incredibly fresh and seasoned to perfection. I couldn’t even tell you which was my favorite. The drinks that it came with were really good too(I got the blueberry lemonade). I hope to be back a lot of times, or at least as much as I can afford. But it is definitely worth the $$ and I can’t believe I hadn’t heard of it till now. Definitely check this place out.

I have nothing to complain about this place except that the price is bit higher than what I would like to pay to come eat often. We got the Maine $ 24, it has half of everything(lobster, crab and shrimp), a drink of your choice and a side. The bread is fragrant and crunchy, the lobster and crabs are better than the shrimp, a lot bette than Sam’s chowder house if you got a chance to visit Half moon bay in California. Service is friendly but very minimal. The store is modern and has nice pictures, wood interior, just a cool and happy place to hang out.

Holy smokes — this is the bomb! Another memorable meal in Philadelphia. The pictures were deceiving, because the rolls are super small. Buttered, fresh lobster, and the perfect amount of mayo, what’s not to like? Worth the calories! Love! Took out the one star because I can’t justify the price. Paying $ 16 for the meal, and it didn’t even fill me up. Would definitely go again.

If you want a delicious Maine lobster roll, this is the place to be! The lobster rolls just melt in your mouth and the staff sure provides a friendly atmosphere. The lobster rolls are kind of up there when it comes to the price(i get it, it’s lobster, but damn) but it’s delicious!

The only bad thing about Luke’s Lobster is that we don’t have one back home. Walking the streets of Philly, there are endless options of places to eat. A quick search on Unilocal directed us to this little, casual hole in the wall. The prices and serving sizes were so much better than back home and the quality of the seafood was amazingly fresh. While the place was relatively empty when we arrived, it filled up quickly as it was around dinner time. The person behind the counter was quick to help answer any questions and help us order. We received our meal pretty quickly. Instead of local craft beer, we opted for something from their selections of Maine sodas… which were really crisp and refreshing. When we ordered a combo selection(Noah’s Ark) and added chowder(always have to add chowder, right??). The food came quickly and there was sooo much! In our sampler we ordered we each had ½ lobster roll, ½ crab roll and ½ shrimp roll. Geez Louise they were so yummy. Even for a ½ portion of each, they were stuffed with meat. There wasn’t too much sauce or seasoning… it was perfect. The chowder was just ok, but warmed me up on a chilly night. It wasn’t bad, just a bit plain and dull — but nothing a little hot sauce couldn’t help. We were to pleased to hear that they also have locations in Georgetown and central DC area. What pleased us even more was to find out they have a Las Vegas location… can’t wait to try it out next time we get to Vegas.

Lobster Rolls rock!!! The Lobster Rolls have a heaping portion of lobster in the sandwich, although the sandwich is on the smaller side. It is seasoned lighly and this allows you to taste the freshness of the Maine Lobster. The combo comes with coleslaw, Cape Cod Potato Chips and a specialty soda(such as Sasparilla, Blueberry Cola etc…) We also got an order of the Clam Chowder which was out of this world delicious. The price for a Lobster Roll is $ 16 and a combo is $ 19 so it’s a little on the pricey side. The restaurant is casual and small. They have counters as well as tables for eating. It was a special treat for lunch today.

Stopped here on a whim while wandering the streets of Philly(with the help of Unilocal of course). It was fairly dim inside, so my friend and I ordered to go and opted to sit outdoors. LOBSTERROLL: Absolutely mouthwatering. It was a splurge at $ 16 but I highly recommend at least giving it a try. I’m by no means a lobster roll connoisseur, but I thought it was fantastic(my friend agreed). It had rich flavor and generous portions of lobster. Told them my friend and I were splitting the roll, so they split it into two small trays for us, which was nice. LOBSTERGRILLEDCHEESE: I applaud Luke’s for the novelty, but this one didn’t blow me away. The sandwich didn’t pack nearly as strong of a flavor punch as the lobster roll(maybe it would have tasted better if I hadn’t first tried the lobster roll?). It was also a bit greasy for my taste, but after all it was a grilled cheese. No regrets on ordering it though because I now get to continue living life knowing what a lobster grilled cheese sandwich tastes like. Looking at the food alone, I would have given Luke’s 4 or 4.5 stars. But I was a fan of their simple yet chill vibe. The atmosphere felt well-curated(the cool sodas they had in the fridge by the register I wish I had tried come to mind). So overall, five stars for the killer lobster roll, novelty of the grilled cheese, and sweet ambiance.

(12⁄100) Good God this place is amazing. This was our first stop on my Daddy/Daughter date night on Wednesday, February 3. We arrived around 5:30 and I was surprised to find that no one else was in the restaurant. The young lady behind the counter instantly greeted us as we walked in. A few people came in and ordered to go items as we were waiting for our food. Only one gentleman dined it at a table behind us. The restaurant is on the smaller side. I kind of wish their sign outside was larger. I wonder if a lot of people just walk right past Luke’s. You have to walk down a few stairs to enter the restaurant. It’s a really cozy place; you walk in and you’ll notice the shore scene without it being cheesy. There’s fish nets hanging on the walls and the tables and chairs were clean and looked well kept. The chairs were really comfortable as well. My dad and I had never been here so we took a second to look at the cute handwritten menu on the wall. We decided to go with the Lobster Roll combo that includes the infamous Lobster roll, chips, and a drink. The combo was priced at $ 19 a person. I got the salt and vinegar chips with a blueberry soda while my dad got the bbq chips and the ginger beer instead. We were both very happy with our choices. I’ve never had anything like the lobster roll before. It’s quite simple in its ingredients but simple is most definitely better at this establishment. The roll is consists of a tasty buttered roll that is has a light layer of mayonnaise and is filled with tasty, fresh, and delicious lobster with no filling. While the roll itself is on the smaller side, it’s LOADED with lobster. My dad and I were still hungry so he ordered another Lobster roll($ 16) and I got a 12 ounce cup of the lobster chowder($ 9) The chowder was absolutely delicious. They filled the cup up to the rim with hot and tasty chowder. Every single spoonful had tender chunks of seafood in it. I couldn’t have asked for a better meal. Everything we ordered was fresh, hot, and delicious. The staff was very friendly. I’d most definitely return to Luke’s Lobster again.

Ok… we’ve been here less than a week now and we’ve eaten here everyday! Seriously, my fiancé and I are in trouble! We’re craving this place 24⁄7! I literally dreamt of the lobster roll last night. I think we need to admit we have a problem and seek help… Hi. My name is Ashley… and I’m a lobster roll-aholic!!!

I give this place a 3.5. I have to agree with Larry. I got really excited about the hype but maybe I was built up too much. I got a lobster roll with the calm chowder soup combo. I can’t reason their pricing point for the quantity of the product. The breading on the roll is tasty and the lobster is well portioned but it’s not worth $ 16. It didn’t blow me out of the water. The lobster is of decent quality. It’s smells fresh but lacks the juicy flavors that I’d hope to taste. Also, maybe it’s just my preference but I’d like my lobster warm. The clam chowder was decent but again not for the portions. It was a good taste of Maine but I probably won’t come back in the near future.

Thank you, Unilocal, for pointing hungry little me to Luke’s Lobster. Open until 9pm and just a little walk down to Rittenhouse from my hotel, this little gem truly hit the spot. 4.5 stars average Unilocal rating didn’t hurt either, I was immediately sold just looking at photos of the food, and sorely missing the lobster rolls I had up in Boston last year. Not too hard to find, but truly a cozy hideaway spot. Not too crowded at all. Per others’ recommendations, I ordered the Taste of Maine(½ lobster roll, ½ crab roll, ½ sh rimp roll, 2 crab claws, with soda and slaw or bag of chips and a pickle for $ 23). Of the Maine Root choices of sodas, I went with the root beer, and closer-to-the-source(than back in California!) Cape Cod chips, mmm. I probably could have finished the Noah’s Ark order by myself except for the double drinks/chips that night, ha. I really enjoyed the simplicity of the rolls, buttery, toasted bread, seasoned seafood(filled generously) and complemented by the combo side and drink to complete the Maine experience. My favorite roll had to be the crab, actually, such a sucker for all seafood though. It was definitely a nice and refreshing meal, not too heavy, especially considering the walk to/from the hotel in the heat/humidity. Very good food, too bad I didn’t have time to return during my weeklong stay — too many other places to try between Restaurant Week and those Philly cheesesteaks, of course! Keep doing what you’re doing, Luke’s. I will return someday.

Oh, its true, Luke’s had the best seaFOOD in Philly. One afternoon, I had one order of Taste of Maine($ 23). And what to expect whan you’re expecting a taste of Maine?! Three types of seafood(lobster, shrimp and crab) ½ roll of each, drink, light slaw & a chips bag. The rolls were petite in size but big in flavor. My favorite was the sweet«pink shrimp», a real delicacy, Maine style. Did you know I used to hate shrimps? Dirty darn shrimps… Don’t even talk to me about shrimps… Now. They are my absolute favorite, and Luke’s makes an excellent«shrimp roll,» a very satisfying, sweet lobster roll, and an okayish crab roll. The three were split– top warm hot-dog like bun, dripping with yummy mayo. P.S: My Lobster that day was from Stonington, Maine«named for its granite quarries!» Three and half Unilocal
