I begrudgingly trekked up to Manayunk to go to Nicole Miller’s Bridal Sample sale the day after Thanksgiving. I did not feel like moving, and I certainly was in no shape to try on dresses. I live in D.C., so I had frequented BHLDN(Antrho’s wedding store) about 15 times by this point. I had gone to boutiques and even, *gasp*, David’s Bridal. I wanted something simple, but unique. I wanted a backless dress that wasn’t princess-y. In short, I had a lot of requests, and a small budget(hoping to keep under $ 1,000 – but ideally spend around $ 500). So when I went to Nicole Miller, I was feeling like I had already wasted the 20 minutes to drive from downtown Philly to Manayunk. I was totally wrong, and I am so grateful that my friend told me about the sale! My stylist was Alexa and she was fabulous. I tried on a total of 5 dresses and was torn between two. I went with one that was non-lacy(and in my opinion, less traditional). The dress was priced down to $ 600 from $ 1200(WINNING!) Oh, but there’s more. I had tried on a size 8, which was a few sizes too big for me, when another stylist came out from the back and said, I think there’s a size 4 on the mannequin. A size 4 dress that had never been worn(aka wasn’t technically a sample). In sum, I got a $ 1,200 Nicole Miller dress that exceeded all of my expectations, had never been worn, and was the perfect size… for $ 600. Me: :D :D :D :D

I worked with a sales associate named Gabrielle Iorio when I went wedding dress shopping at a Nicole Miller Boutique in Manayunk Philadelphia. I can’t even express how great she was. First of all, she was really great helping me pick out dresses to try on and giving me her honest opinion on how they looked. I ended up falling in love with a dress and she suggested that I order some matching buttons for my tailor to sew down the back seam of the dress. Gabrielle ordered them for me at wholesale and shipped them to my house. Fast forward a few months and my tailor loses the buttons! My wedding was quickly approaching at that point so I frantically call nicole miller customer service for new buttons. Not only did they jack up the price but they basically told me they couldn’t get me the buttons in time. As a last ditch effort I contact the boutique in Philadelphia and Gabrielle got right on it. She got me the buttons for the original lower price and was able to get them to me over the weekend! Great customer service!!! :)

Deciding to try on dresses at Nicole Miller was the best wedding planning choice I’ve made so far. I work dangerously close to this location and have been shopping here for the past 8 years. Samantha is absolutely fabulous — she knows how to dress for your body like no other — and I am so glad she was there for my appointment. Being non-traditional my beau wanted to come with, and while quiet he is definitely opinionated. Samantha was a pro at reading his facial expressions & tailored the dress selection based on our comments as we went along. We explained that we wanted to stay around $ 700 which may sound like a lot but surprisingly many Philly boutiques start at $ 1,000 or more. Thanks to NM’s White Friday sample sale(50% to 90% off) we never had to look at a price tag. I only tried on 5 dresses before we found what we were looking for. Another NM bonus? There are no bogus wedding sizes here. You wear a 29 jean, you try on size 6 – 8 gowns. Easy peasy. They have samples of all sizes and no clamps were involved, I was able to see all the side and back detail as it was meant to be. We weren’t pressured to buy accessories and we got a gift bag full of magazines, planning tools, and coupons(hello $ 50 credit towards dance lessons). After toasting our under budget success with a glass of champagne we happily walked out of the store — with my nearly perfect sample in tow. Highly recommended!
