Loved it here! There was great music on a Saturday night and the drinks were amazing!

Such a cool great place. It is 4 different floors. The basement being«the pendulum» it looks kind of like a speak easy down there. That’s also where they let you in once the night starts. The second floor is at street level and that’s where live music plays and in the back is very funky looking with lots of Edgar Allen Poe things(hence«Raven Lounge) They also have lots of different Raven resembled things. The 3rd floor is more of a club vibe with a DJ and a stripper pole. The 4th floor is set up more of a lounge with seats and games. Overall awesome bar. We met the owner outside and he was really cool! Would highly suggest it if you are into different types of places and not your typical club.

Trendy fun spot, great bar tenders fast service strong drinks. Good on any day of the week. They have board games to play. For first timers everyone there is pretty friendly so you feel like you have 10 new friends by the time you leave.

Very interesting place to see the least. There are four floors and you enter I’m guessing through the basement or something? As soon as I entered I was offered a free sample of whiskey which was awesome. I also checked in to get the free Raven shot don’t know if the bartender was happy about it. Very mixed crowd and I love the early 2000 hip hop music they were playing. I would definitely go again as a pregame spot I like how chill the vibe was before it started to get crowded.

My boyfriend and I came here on a Friday night in February, not knowing what to expect. We were looking to grab a drink somewhere when someone signaled us into here. There was no line and no cover. We walked into the bottom floor where it was pretty empty, relatively quiet, not much going on. We thought eh, this is ok. The bartender, who was really friendly and cool, explained that there are three more floors above and each floor is a little different. We checked it out and she was right. The next three floors were much different than that bottom floor. Lots more noise, dancing, music, etc. A lot of popular hip-hop music. It was pretty dark and a little grungy. We stayed on the top floor because it seemed to be the least crowded and we just wanted to hang out at the bar. We got several drinks, all of which were fine. Nothing special. The bartender did give us some kind of Valentine’s Day shot made out of tiny chocolate shot glasses which was cool. I also loved that they have these books laying around that customers can write and draw in. We added some stuff to one and I liked looking through it. Towards the end of the night, it got a lot more crowded. I would say the crowd was mostly 20’s-young 30’s. I think this bar would’ve been more enjoyable for a night were I was trying to drink more and get my groove on.

I didn’t eat or drink here, but came here to watch my friend play a show and was impressed with the sound system! I could actually understand most of the lyrics(and this is a rap show, so it’s especially more difficult). The small bar area served as a perfect spot for up and coming artists as it helps with audience capitivation. I don’t know if my buddy was putting on a exceptionally good show that night, but everyone was bobbing their heads! Hoping for open mic night here where I can bop my head to some good tunes. Oh, and I got a free e-cig! That’s cool, I guess?

Friday night, no line, no cover. Each floor gets more intense as you go up, from the first floor feeling a bit more divey and laid-back, to the third having a stripper pole. The third floor is tiny, and plays popular hip-hop and r&b. It gets really sweaty and smelly. Overall, fun time.

The Raven Lounge is a unique 4 story bar, and it each floor has its own personality. My first, and so far only, visit to Raven Lounge was Halloween 2015. There was a quick moving line out and the place was packed inside. When you enter off the street, you arrive in the basement. This space is pretty tight and to move else where you have to wait to others to leave. The basement reminded me of a college party house. The next level was my favorite. Coming to the top of the steps you’ll find the bathrooms. This floor also has two bars and a dance floor. The second floor also has a photo booth and a fun spin the wheel for dares. The third floor is similar. The top floor moves away from the bar scene and has a lounge vibe. There are smaller rooms on this floor and ample seating. The staff here is great and the drinks are priced well.

It’s no big secret that I am not the biggest fan of dance clubs or venues of a similar variety. I can keep a beat(thank you years of trumpet, euphonium, marching/concert/orchestra/jazz band…) but I have hips like the tin man. I need a sick track and a lot of social lubricant(booze) to get these rusty joints moving. With that being said, this place is a good time. Modestly priced drinks, a not so douchey crowd, stripper pole on the top floor(of three floors), and consistently solid DJs dropping sick beats… yeah this place gives me hope. I’ve been here a number of times(with good company mind you) and have never had a miserable night… heck, I’ve had some great nights here. And if you need a break from busting a hip on the dance floor upstairs on the third floor(where dancing is located), there are two other floors(a more lounge-y second floor and a sports bar/divey kind of first floor. Variety is the spice of life, and while this place flexes it’s dance club persona the most, everything about this bar(including the lesser two floors) makes for a good time.

I had about thirty of my friends meet me here to celebrate my birthday in April. We had a blast. The bartenders were funny and engaging, the music was good and they even put out a spread of bagels and cream cheese for the last night of Passover. I really like this place.

I’ve been here a few times since moving to Philadelphia. Overall it’s a cool bar/dance place to go to. My favorite area is the basement because it’s quite quaint and the bartender is really cool. The prices for drinks are good for the center city area. The people that dwell in this place are a lot of 20s and early 30s, I seen other ages there as well. The first floor(main area) has two bars with music. Theirs some areas to sit down if you want to relax for a little while. Their is also enough space to dance but it’s not that big. The music is mixed here 90s, hip hop, top 40. The second floor gets warm and has a DJ playing the music. It was packed when I went up there and wasn’t really feeling it, but people were having fun. Their is also a coat check on the third floor if your into that but a lot of people just put their jackets wherever. Overall cool place to dance and hangout at for a couple hours, some of the people in here can be a little annoying but that’s expected when alcohol is being consumed at a high rate. The employees are all seem cool and friendly. I believe we got a bunch of drinks and only spent about $ 30.00, so it was worth it and left feeling good. It’s more or less a dive bar but glorified if that makes sense. I plan on going back in the near future and it’s easy to catch a cab since its in a busy area.

Love this place for Thursday comedy night. I particularly like the top floor bar with a friendly, intimate feel. Christina the bartender is welcoming and friendly and pours great drinks. All the regulars love her. It’s like your own private party with friends. Great time!

Can be a fun, late in the night, «where do we go now?» Kind of place. There are various levels: Entrance: cozy dark bar. Good for a beer/drink/shots before heading upstairs. 1 which has games which is a nice touch, but pieces are missing, it’s too dark to see to play, and the music is normally too loud to play a game. Two bars-good for hanging around or dancing. 1 more I believe that is just dark and loud(good dancing floor) Top floor which is quieter and has a fireplace(nice touch) and a small«VIP-esque» room with a TV-nice place to sit down and talk with friends over drinks. –DJs normally have ok music on nights I have been. Nothing stand out amazing. –Bar on each floor if I recall correctly. –Bathrooms aren’t standout-sometimes dirty or messy. –If you check in on Unilocal for a free shot the bartender will sometimes get angry. At times you may be told to go to another bar. Not always, but more often than not you can tell they are not happy about it. They shouldn’t get mad at customers though — it’s a sweet deal for us. Employees need to be spoken with or the free shot shouldn’t be offered on here.

Ahh I’ve been to Raven Lounge sooo many times now. Like so many. And each night is hit or miss. We usually venture here when nothing else is really going on, however they do have some appeal. The comedy shows on Thursday nights are really fun and feature good talent. That’s usually fun to check out and different! They opened a new whiskey bar on the third floor with a private room, further diversifying their 4-floor establishment. Scattered around the first floor are a bunch of games, many that are missing pieces, but a fun touch nonetheless. One bed thing. If you check in on Unilocal you receive a free«Raven Shot», which is basically the bartender’s choice. Um, in my many times here, I tried using this twice and received such rude responses! The bartenders don’t know what this coupon is and look at it with a mixture of shock and disgust. On Friday, the place was crowded due to an LGBT event, however as I was making a purchase I asked the 4th floor bartender to use it and he replied,“It’s too crowded to deal with this free [ish].” Yaa you know what he actually said. Raven, do us a favor and just take that coupon off Unilocal

So we came up to this interesting little joint and I thought, why am I here. There is 3 floors to this little spot, with a bar on every floor. I also enjoyed the dark atmosphere or vibe it had. Bar 1… «The Basement» Basement entrance I thought was a little weird, but hey thats their rules so I followed them. Walked in an there was a bar right there with a few stools through out this«lounge», especially in the basement of this building.(sarcasm) Bar 2… «Main Floor» Now to get to main floor you have to up the stairs, and oh how I loved these stairs. Tight and narrow, with sounds coming from it like it was going to snap. I am not the lightest of people, but the company I was with they were even hesitant. The main floor and yea its still pretty dark with no room. If you wanted some kind if lighting, I’d suggest hanging out by the front of the place for some lighting. Bar3… «Second Floor» More steps with tight quarters for you to climb. Once you’ve reached the top, you guessed it, still dark. Little make shift bar with another little landing that has a strippers pole on it. I suggest turning around and going back down that stairway that you just endured right to the exit. I am still trying to figure out how this is a «lounge» with the scenery. I most likely, no I am pretty sure this was the first and only time I would be here. Sorry Raven, but you’re just not my cup of tea, others may like it here, but its not for me.

Came here for drinks only after dinner this weekend, and to celebrate a friends birthday. We went downstairs and were there on the early side, around 10:00 so we were the only ones there for a little while. They have great specials including city wides, and $ 5 «mystery» shots courtesy of Cuba the amazing bartender! On that note, she made the bar that night, such a sweet, energetic person! Thanks to her shots we did have to almost carry my roommate home! This is a great, easy low key bar with fun staff, and good specials. They also have games like Jenga out for you to play, and the music is on point, always going but not so loud you can’t hear your party. Definitely a great little go to bar!

Every time I come here, I hardly remember it. That doesn’t mean the place is easily forgettable, it simply means I drink too much. Needless to say, you’ll never leave here saying it was just an okay night. It’s always a blast. To start, there’s 3 different floors and the upstairs has a stripper pole on a stage for a nice added touch. It’s really dark, hot, and the bathrooms are generally disgusting, but like any other great center city row home nightclub(Walnut Club, Time, Medusa Lounge), even these factors can’t spoil your night. No cover. I repeat, no cover(at least the Saturday night I was there). Which is awesome considering you’re right in the heart of the city. The best part of the place is the music. Don’t go here expecting to hear your generic top 40 McFadden’s-style bullshit, but also don’t go here expecting some obscure European house. It’s just a real nice mix of hip hop throwbacks, dancehall, reggaeton, and electro– and every DJ who’s been here knows how to blend in between songs. The citywide special is always nice and the drinks are reasonably priced, but avoid the overly sweet champagne and pop rocks cocktail unless you wanna wake up with your brain trying to break through your skull.
