The Cut Bar

The guys who run this place are a bunch of sexist assholes. I lived three doors down from them for two years and watched them harass every woman who walked by their place. And as if that weren’t bad enough, they also harassed myself and my girlfriend to the point where I no longer walked south on my street after a little while without crossing the street.
They also get drunk all the time. As if all that wasn’t enough.
Honestly, they’re a blight on the neighborhood and I hope they close for good.

Got cut by a heavy set black guy. Very last chair. Guy was drinking brandy straight the whole time. Kept stopping to run outside to see what’s going on with all the goons on South Street. There was a shooting & homicide that night on South Street 9÷4÷15. Dude butchered my hair. Didn’t use scissors. Seemed like he was too lit. Charged me $ 35 which is ridiculous because I’ve gotten cuts from the Asians for $ 7 and they actually paid attention and did a good job.
Maybe it was my mistake for choosing a more African American & Latin centered barber or not waiting for The 1^st chair barber Juan who was backed up.
If you are Caucasian then you might wanna go elsewhere

Had a great cut here by Juan. He paid much attention to detail and did an excellent job. The facility is clean and in a very convenient location. Prices are competitive with the market for a guy’s cut. Will certainly be back. Thanks!

Juan is barbering brilliance! I live in DC but had always heard huge praise for him from my friends. I finally had the chance to see him this summer and can easily understand why Juan is so popular: he’s simply a powerhouse of precision, creating incredibly fresh fades, tight lines, and all around clean cuts. I’ve seen Juan twice now and he’s exceptionally meticulous and consistent. Again, I’ve only seen Juan but The Cut Bar, in general, is very clean and all of their clients seem sincerely satisfied. Bottom-​line: If you’re searching for an ace barbershop, this should be your spot. Juan’s a master of his craft and also just a down-​to-​earth dude. I give him (and this shop) my strongest recommendation!

The Cut Bar was conveniently located on South Street. Strongly recommend Juan who is by far the best barber I have come across in Philadelphia. He has a keen sense of balance and a meticulous attention for detail, and easily spends 45+ minutes for each cut. Friendly and convenient, I set up my haircut appointment by text. Always an excellent cut.

I have to say as an African-​American professional, it is difficult to find a barber shop where you can go and take your children and not have to worry about blaring music, or obscene language coming from the staff or movies on the TV. The Cut Bar has a very professional atmosphere, it is very clean, and Juan the barber is probably one of the best barbers in the city. The nice thing about The Cut bar is I saw people of all walks of life (Caucasian, African America, Asian and Hispanic to be politically correct) getting haircuts that were on point. My suggestion is, if you are new to the city, visiting the city or looking for a new barber ask for Juan, and come to The Cut Bar, I wasn’t disappointed!
