Overpriced. Way to «yuppy» for me. Go to Petes. You can get a full breakfast for the price of a bagel and coffee at this place. It is a cute place though, I’ll give it that.

Probably one of my favorite coffee places. I really love that they have breakfast foods and I love the roast of coffee they use. In the summer you need to try the cold brew coffee! The place is very clean and very unique. I digg the alien theme. It’s refreshing since most coffee places look the same. It loses a star because of the hours. I think they close around 2 and they only accept cash. but if I cash this is the place I’ll go to.

This place has unfortunately gone downhill for me. The service got frustrating — I’d come in every weekend morning to order a few things to go, and I guess because I was a «regular» they thought it was ok to make me wait longer and help all the people who came in behind me first. I get that I ordered food and when you have someone come after that just wants a coffee, you can help them, but we’re talking full orders of complicated drinks making my wait for two bagels and two lattes take more than 20 minutes. All the while others are getting in and out fast. I also started to question how clean it was based on sitting there watching them prepare food for so long and not loving some of the normal practices. I got fed up and stopped going on weekends. Occassionally I’ll go to grab coffee and I have gotten treated pretty coldly from the owner, probably because I don’t go as much. Sorry, but that’s what happens.

The breakfast sandwiches are huge and perfect for a Sunday morning. Although it may seem pricey, you’ll have leftovers. Great neighborhood spot.

Great breakfast spot! Just moved in the neighborhood, and went here for an iced coffee and a breakfast sambo. Both were fantastic! I definitely recommend it! Lovely place to stop in for a few and forget the rat race! I guess you could say you could say there’s no plying me to order more at the flying saucer, and I’m dying to go back where I’ll be trying everything while sighing in contentment !!! James H.

Great little local spot! The coffee is the best I’ve found so far in Fairmount and the egg sandwiches are amazing! Always a nice Saturday treat to stop in.

Flying saucer has great coffee and is always making custom sandwiches for me anytime of day! The bagels bagel sandwiches come with cukes and tomatoes(with no extra cost!) and the service is great. Anyone working there will bring food right to your table. And although I normally bus my own table, there are no black dish bins lurking in the corner telling me I have to do it myself.

In a city full of great coffee places, The Flying Saucer stands out from the rest. It is a great little place for an afternoon pick me up, and their food is amazing. I love the coffee here as well, and whenever my friends come from out of town, I recommend that they go get some coffee from the Flying Saucer to start their day. You’ve earned a customer for life and I’ll make sure to spread the word. You guys rock!

I live in the Fairmont area and have tried a few coffee places, and The Flying Saucer has easily become my favorite café. When I don’t feel like making breakfast or coffee I come here. I can get a breakfast sandwich, a bagel, etc. and I love the variety of food that they have. They also have an amazing selection of coffee flavors which is awesome. The service and the staff is great, which just adds to the many reasons why I go here and why I will continue to go here!

This is the perfect neighborhood café. It occupies a completely unassuming corner, but inside they have wonderful iced cold brew and they serve heaping, gooey egg sandwiches on LeBus bagels. Once I discovered it, this café immediately became my go to spot to sit outside and relax over good coffee.

I feel sort of guilty writing this review, but it needs to be done. I like that this place is a local little spot and I love the décor. The posters, lightswitches, and names of the specialty drinks(solar eclipse, etc) is adorable. But that’s pretty much where it ends. Last Saturday, my boyfriend and I headed here to grab some breakfast. We tried to figure out if they were cash only on the way, but they have no phone and it doesn’t say on Unilocal or the business website. TIP: they are cash only. Luckily they had an ATM, but I like it when places are upfront about that stuff so I can avoid the extra fees. We stood inside looking at the chalkboard menu for a few minutes, taking it in. It listed«seasonal» items like empanadas, frittatas, and salads. We inquired further, only to be told that none of those items were available. So, the one and only item you can order here is a breakfast sandwich. I tried to order one on a biscuit(also listed) and was told that was not available either. So, I got a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich on a brioche roll. When I went to order a second sandwich for the boyf, the owner pretty much told me what to get, probably because there was literally one other option available(bacon, egg and cheese on a croissant with tomato and cucumber). Also, there were NO prices listed anywhere on the menu boards. There were some baked goods from LeBus available as well, but that’s it. The muffins looked good, but the bagels looked overcooked and brown. We also ordered two specialty coffee drinks, which were both good and the only thing I would ever order here again. Contrary to what others have said, I didn’t find the owner(s) all that friendly. They were okay, but nothing special. Also, know that there is not a full kitchen here, and I am skeptical as to how the eggs are cooked(microwave?). The woman brought our sandwiches out to us and dropped them down, saying«$ 24.50 please» and walked away. We never saw a written check. The sandwiches were actually not bad at all, but that’s all you get here, no side salad or potatoes or fruit.(Maybe that doesn’t bother some people, but it’s one of my breakfast pet peeves). So, we ate, paid, and left, calculating in our heads on the way home(due to lack of receipt) that the sandwiches were $ 7 each and the coffees were each $ 5. I like to support small, but those little sandwiches were not worth $ 7 and I will probably never be back here. This little joint has so much unfulfilled potential.

Coffee was only ok. Bagels were good. Eggs in bagels really good. Smoothie was delicious and the server even gave us the extra from the blender which pleased my daughter very much. Décor is cute again my daughter was pleased. Even the bathroom was decked out with alien stuff. They use local ingredients when possible and they don’t have anything with high fructose corn syrup. This time mom was pleased.

Great lattes and friendly staff! Wonderful homemade goodies especially on the weekends. Bagel with butter and cream cheese is my go to breakfast and its very filling! Only wish: That they took credit cards or Level Up to make payment easier.

I got a bagel with cream cheese and a small coffee. The coffee is solid. The space isn’t that big, but it’s good for reading and grabbing something quick. The service is great as well. Overall no bad things to say about this place.

A neat little, quirky-themed café in the neighborhood. It’s not always open, and they don’t always have what you’re looking for food-wise, but the coffee is great, and the location is fantastic(it’s the only café nearby). The guys behind the counter are always friendly and I’ve met the owner — he’s a great little old guy who’s running this in retirement. Flying Saucer is quirky and metallic, but if you can get past that, the food is good and the space is well-lit and right on a corner — can’t complain!

Definitely a nice surprise to realize so close by in Francisville — Friendly staff, good Middle Eastern food, bar menu also, dj music on certain nights. Fun place.

Terrible overpriced coffee and inconsistent hours. If you are planning on making a special trip here be sure to call first. There are always notes in the door saying they are closed.

About Me: I never write Unilocal reviews About The Flying Saucer Café: I’m a little disappointed Just moved to the area and I was really looking forward to having a nice café to grab a quick coffee and bagel sandwich. Simply put, The Flying Saucer Café should be better and could be less expensive. The coffee is always good, the sandwiches are not. The menu is great on face value, but the final product are just meh… because it’s only two people, everything takes a little bit longer, which really isn’t a big deal. The first time I went, I got a latte and a bagel with white fish and tomato($ 10 — I thought it was a bit high because of the fish, OK). The bagel wasn’t toasted enough and the amount of white fish she put on created a soggy mess. Second time I went, I wanted to order a fancy drink from their galaxy themed menu, but since the barista was on a smoke break I couldn’t. Instead I got a latte again and the bacon and egg sandwich they have advertised on the board($ 10 — now this is getting ridiculous) and that was a greasy/buttery mess because everything was microwaved. Next time I’ll be getting a regular coffee and a muffin, hopefully I wont have to break a $ 20.

Egg Sandwich was satisfying. Bagel(lots of butter), egg w/cheese, bacon, cucumber & tomato The blend of the cucumber & tomato with salt and pepper on the sandwich just made it taste even better. There was only one person working. 4 different people came in at the same time and he handled the orders assembly style making all our foods and having use pay after he made them. Pro: Breads are from local bakery. They will be expanding the bread selection(as the man working explained they had some tasty samples the day we were in.) The staff was nice, friendly, professional. Tasted delicious. Nice selection of coffee drinks and bottled beverages including flavor infused waters. Con: The eggs and bacon are precooked and then microwaved when you order it. It tasted fine to me. It was very hot out of the microwave. Cash Only.

Place is ok. Went on Saturday morning after my run. They had several items on the menu, but didn’t actually offer them. The old guy behind the counter was very slow and his nose was running although he didn’t use a tissue or wash his hands after wiping it with his hand. The muffin I got was good and the mocha was good when I eventually got it.
