I agree with the other poster. The Touraine WAS great until a few months ago when the management change happened. Now it’s a disaster. The day to day management team are truly incompetent. I spotted a bed bug in my apartment and the management could not possibly do LESS or care LESS. I absolutely believe that their attitude is if «you don’t like it leave» because this sentiment rings through loud and clear. Definitely stay away.

We moved into the Touraine a year ago and we loved it. Since that time the management company has changed and the people running the building are not the same. The building is 98 years old and as you can imagine there are problems. I must admit they are trying to correct them. First, there are two passenger elevators and there is always one down. For weeks! They are replacing the windows and when they do that the contractors hold the service elevator. Of course, the tenants are trying to use it as well! One of the fairly new tenants told me that when he complained he was told«if you don’t like it, move out»! He told them he can’t get an elavaor to moved out! So he’s stuck. My husband and I moved on Tuesday, but the new management team neglected to tell us that the service elevator was not available till 11:00AM. It used to be 9:00AM. So we had movers who couldn’t get their truck close to the building(because of contractors) and then stood around for 2 hours for the service elevator. Our moved from a one bedroom apartment took all day because of the elevator. Bottom line, stay away from the Touraine for about 3 years, by then they might have the building where it should be. They certainly are not looking out for the tenants that are there now!

This building has all sorts of problems from the lazy and incompetent management to the lazy and incompetent security guards. It’s a shame too since it’s such a pretty building. If you’re considering living here, look elsewhere.
