More expensive than other Uhaul’s in the area and barely had any gas when we picked it up. I made a reservation for a 10 ft truck weeks in advance for my move this past Saturday 12−12−15. I thought a 1 bedroom truck would be large enough because I have a small 1 bedroom apartment. It was not nearly big enough so we had to make 2 trips and at it $ 1.69 per mile it really added up since my old place and new place are 20 miles apart. The Saturday mileage fee is also excessive. They only charge .49 a mile during the week but because I moved on a Saturday a premium day they stated they charged 1.69 per mile. Ridiculous Also the truck we rented had less than ¼ tank of gas so we had to stop on the way for gas, That was a waste of my time. Yes we were given a credit if we returned the truck with at least a quarter tank, but that’s not the point. It should have been ready to go. I won’t be using or recommending.

This review is for the propane services. We cook out a LOT! so having this propane fill up location so close is perfect! Drive right to the tank and press the buzzer and the attendant comes to your car to fill up your tank! Kamar took care of me and also Informed me that by giving your email you get 1 $ off your fill up. For 16 $ im now set for another month! Lowes and home depot want over 26 $ for the same fill up!

Rented a U-haul to put some stuff into storage in NJ. Checkout was smooth. Counterman was pleasant and efficient. Vehicle was practically new Chevy Cargo Van. Drove nicely although I always find the pedals in these vans to be high and awkward. Return was not as smooth. Counterman was short, almost rude. Acted as though understaffed. Bit of a wait to return the vehicle. Lot of complaining. I booked this way in advance and did the pre-check-in and it did help. Convenient location for me, but I could do without the unnecessary complaining.

We came here on Sunday, July 27th and it was complete chaos. We had originally made a reservation for a 17′ truck at the 49th and Chestnut location. The night before, we got a text message saying to go to this location on Lancaster and that we had a «guaranteed reservation.» Well, we got there and they not only didn’t have our truck available, but they seemed to have NOONE’s trucks. They appeared to only have one guy working the desk who became so overwhelmed that he just put his head in his hands and that was that. My husband and I– as well as other customers– were left to our own devices to make calls to other U-Haul(and Penske) locations to find trucks. We were driving six hours one way, so we needed to be sure we got a big enough truck and the entire city seemed to be booked. We eventually got a reservation at our original location on Chestnut for a smaller truck, plus a trailer. That location was crowded, but at least it was functional.

If things didn’t end up working out, I would have given this U-haul location a 2 or a 1. I booked a cargo van online. I received an email confirmation and figured everything was all set. I called move-in day to ask a question and they informed me they didn’t have any cargo vans. even though I reserved one! They upgraded me to a bigger truck for the same price, but I was very upset and thrown off by the fact that they didn’t even warn me. What is the point of a reservation if what you want won’t be there? Then they informed me that cargo vans can’t cross state lines, even though the online application I filled out did not have this disclaimer, and allowed me to reserve a cargo van to go across state lines. Very unorganized. The whole point of us selecting the cargo van was because we felt more comfortable driving it rather than a huge truck. But since we were informed last minute, I wasn’t given a chance. Also heads up the steering wheel doesn’t go down for shorter people, so make sure somebody taller ends up driving a truck. It all ended up working out, but it was 4x more stressful than it had to be.
