I came here 3 days in a row this week. I had to come back to try some different combinations and I’m really glad I did. Everything was stellar from the flavor of the food right down to the radiant customer service(I think her was name was Lacey?). Anyway, I’ll definitely come back if I’m in the area for some incredibly delicious(and healthy!) grub.

Love this place! The noodle dishes are delicious with good protein and non-soggy vegetables. The sauces are very tasty. The service is great, and I hope this place sticks around.

Good concept, bad execution. Portions are small for the price and like others mentioned ingredients are bland and sauces are nothing to write home about. Staff is friendly, but that’s about all this place as going.

I’ve been here a few times now and it reminds me a lot of Honeygrow, The food has always been on point and I feel like you get more for your money here as well as more options. Definitely one of my new favorite spots.

I went to Wokworks for the third or fourth time today and I don’t think I’ll ever return. I love the concept behind the restaurant, it’s like a cheap honeygrow. The food is cooked well but the sauces are terrible. I have tried most of them and while it’s possible I just haven’t found the one for me I think it’s safe to say they are all bland or too intense. The teriyaki, green curry, general tso, and umami sesame ginger are all lacking in flavor while the pepper Szechuan sauce is overpowering and tastes like nothing except pepper. If you insist on trying this place out I would recommend asking them to add a little bit of the Szechuan with whatever sauce you choose to give it some flavor. I ordered two short woks-for me and a friend-and only received enough utensils, soy sauce/siracha, and napkins for one person. I was a little annoyed because the lady packing the pack asked me if I needed utensils, etc and I responded in the affirmative. Today I changed my noodles from the signature(lo mein) to the chow fun(flat rice) noodle. I liked the noodles but noticed there was no sauce in my dish. It was actually pretty good but it was incredibly dry and I knew I would not be able to finish it as is. I called Wokworks to let them know my dish was sauceless and ask for some sauce to pour over it. The guy on the phone offered to remake my dish and I accepted thinking it was company policy to simply remake dishes. However less than a minute later he called me back angrily saying he had put sauce on my dish and telling me if I wanted extra sauce I should have just asked for it. I told him I had originally called for extra sauce and that would be fine with me. Obviously I didn’t need a remake I just needed it to be less dry. The three times I called(once to place an order but I was hung up on, again to place the order and the third time to get sauce) I was placed on hold by at least two people. And when I first began talking the lady working cut me off and told me to hold again. Why pick up if you’re not available to talk? When my friend went to pick up the sauce they handed her two containers of sauce and were about to send her on her way before someone stopped her and gave her a bag. The whole experience was unpleasant. If I want stir fry next time I’ll just walk the extra blocks to honeygrow where I’ll be guaranteed good food and good service.

This is my favorite wok place in town. Food always tastes fresh. Prices are reasonable and I get full. I try to come here once a week.

The service was great. The staff is very friendly and welcoming but the food was ok. I built my own bowl and got the SOBA noodles and the garlic sesame sauce. I think I the general tso or a soy based sauce would have been a better option. I would give it another chance.

Food poisoned by this place. I woke up sick in the middle of the night and into the next morning. My shrimp was undercooked, I didn’t realize until I got home. I was so hungry that I ate it anyway. Should have know based on color and texture. I’m only giving the second star because at least the cashier was polite.

I live going to wokworks whenever i need my noodle fix. I have tried the beef and the shrimp with assorted vegetables and they were both great! I recommend anyone who has never tried this place to give it a try. Its really lowkey and i didnt get nervous whenever i go inside to order(someplaces give me the uneasy vibe). The line was fast and the food came out faster than i expected. Really enjoyed.

I’ve been to Wokworks twice now and hope it sticks around! I described this place to my coworkers as a «Hipster Noodes & Company» where you build your own bowl and get a number of veggies, toppings, protein, and sauce on your choice of noodle/rice/quinoa. They also have some signature bowls and sides. I went with large wok broccoli, sweet peppers, and mushrooms, fried chicken as the protein, crispy garlic and pineapple as the toppings, wok noodles, and smoke asian BBQ sauce. I ordered ahead and wish i had said protein on the side because the breading was soggy by the time I got it back to the office — I also wish I had ordered double protein because they’re stingy with the proteins. The portion for the price is decent for the area. It’s a small place and I suggest ordering for pick up on their website if you plan to go around lunchtime.

Unilocal you’ve failed me again. Maybe I just didn’t get the right combination for my stir fry but, it was super lackluster. The sauce was almost non-existent and the taste was really bland. I also had the sweet and spicy wings which were… meh. I may try it again as they might’ve just had an off day.

Ordered from here for the first time last weekend and was disappointed to say the least. I built my own bowl with lo mein noodles, a few veggies and a sauce that was SO incredibly spicy, I could not eat more than a few bites of my meal. It was the Tropicalia sweet and spicy sauce and unless you want to chug a few beers to tame the spiciness, I don’t recommend it at all. I can’t tolerate all spicy things and maybe it was my fault for not looking up what sambal is(chili peppers), but no way did I think it would overpower the bowl like it did. Even my boyfriend who loves spicy everything could barely eat it. After reading some other reviewers, it seems like the majority of their spices are way on the spicy side. Guess I should have looked here first! I ordered through Caviar and it said it would take 40 – 60 minutes to be delivered which was fine, but I didn’t expect to get a call from the Caviar delivery driver 30 minutes after I ordered saying he was at Wokworks but they didn’t start my order yet. It was a Sunday night, I can’t imagine they were too busy. He then had to hand the phone to one of the employees because they were out of one of the veggies I ordered, squash. The employee did not seem happy to talk to me, especially after I asked her to repeat the options because she spoke too fast the first time. Talk about great customer service. My boyfriend ordered the Spicy Crunchy Chicken Wok and he liked it, wasn’t wowed. I tried it as well and liked it although we both agreed there should have been more chicken added. Thumbs down for both food and customer service.

Ordered food for delivery with Eat24. The food was delicious. We got little wok and beef noodles. Also some addictive churro chips! Loved that the extra spicy request was delivered. Review for Eat24: TERRIBLE! We ordered food at 1:45 and it was finally delivered at 3:15 An hour and a half to deliver food! Never using Eat24 again.

I’m so glad I finally stopped in, I’ve been trying to go and take advantage of their Wednesday specials with Aria S. but never got around to it. I ordered a short wok with chow fun noodles, shrimp, bok choy, crispy garlic, and pepper szechuan sauce. The bowl itself was very fresh and full of wonderful ingredients BUT the sauce is extremelyyyyyyy spicy. Dont get me wrong, I handled myself pretty well in Thailand, but this was a little too intense. I definitely would switch the sauce for next time. I also order the brussels sprouts and the spicy asian pickles. Brussels sprouts were wonderful, similar to Sampan’s. The pickles were incredible, definitely on the spicy side, but not overwhelmingly so. My concern after ordering was the amount of time I waited. I have no problem waiting, but its labeled as fast food and I’d say we waited about 20 minutes. It seemed like they could have used one more person to help cook. TIP: check in on Unilocal and get 30% off!

Ordered delivery through Try Caviar and it came promptly. I’d liken the food here to that of Honeygrow, but perhaps a little cheaper since my custom small bowl didn’t charge me an arm and leg for each topping. I opted for the«Hong Kong» stir-fry noodle base, shrimp protein(for only $ 0.50 extra), mushroom vegetable, and cilantro topping in a soy/garlic/ginger sauce(seriously, there’s so many sauces to choose from, I became overwhelmed!). My whole dish came to about $ 9.50, which isn’t bad compared to the $ 12 or more I always spend at Honeygrow. My coworkers ordered their bowls with brown rice, chicken, and broccoli. We also got those fried, crispy noodle chips with sea salt and pork dumplings for sides. My stir-fry was much better than the brown rice option. There was just enough sauce and shrimp and a nicely cooked stir-fry noodle with crunchy carrots and purple cabbage. I couldn’t really taste my cilantro under the sauce, but the mushrooms were good. Next time I’d opt for the crispy noodle chips or shallots as a topping to give it some more texture. For some reason, though, the sauce was undetectable on the brown rice dishes. And paired with quite a large amount of chicken, it made the whole meal pretty dry. Honestly, though, some packets of soy sauce on the side would do the trick. This is one thing that Honeygrow has that I like which is picking if you want light, medium or heavy sauce. Perhaps if I visited Wokworks in person, it would be different. The pork dumplings were actually fried, but still very tasty and the spicy mayo dipping sauce was delicious and reminded me of the kind you get for the Bloomin’ Onion at Outback. The chips, however, were soooo salty. The only way to cut through the taste was to dip it in the tangy, creamy sauce. The consensus: Cheaper than Honeygrow, but just as filling and with wayyyy more options to choose from for sauces and toppings. I’d definitely order from here again.

Another random gem we found in philly! We were going shopping one afternoon and got hungry around 2pm so stopped in since it was on our way and because we’re both big fans of noodles. We saw average reviews so were skeptical until we saw the 30% off if you check in on Unilocal coupon!(Tip: check in) Food: We ordered a large make your own wok order — lo mein noodles with the tropicali sauce(spicy, beware — the bf and I had gone through 4 glasses of water each by the end of this meal) with mushrooms, onions, and peppers. This dish was so delicious — each bite had life and flavor to it and we were so sad to see it finish(definitely NOT sharing next time). The dish is about $ 10 without the coupon and only $ 7 when you check in — what a steal. The large is pretty big in size and can be saved for a second meal /snack for later. This place was infinitely better than HoneyGrow which is another noodle bar that I went to but was not impressed with at all. Wokworks is definitely worth checking out! Can’t wait to try their other dishes.

I tried to convince my friends to ditch Sips and come here for happy hour because they have FREE beer on Wednedays 5−10pm + food specials! They all bailed on me so I came here after I went to Lithe(so Rittenhouse of me right??) I got the edamame dumplings with sriracha sauce. I thought they would be like real dumplings but they were actually gyoza and fried which was disappointing because they are usually steamed aka not as fatty! Nonetheless, they were amazing! I scarfed down a little box of them and the sauce was perfect. The woman working was super sweet also. If you check in on Unilocal you get 30% off! Making one of the small bowls about $ 6 – 7 which is very reasonable for entrees in the area. Also the place wasn’t crowded or anything, so I’m definitely dragging my friends here again on a free beer Wednesday.

A few months back, the GF and I were in the mood for Asian noodles, but not exactly itching for the prototypical mushy noodles that accompany an order of Americanized Chinese takeout. Hearing good things about Wokworks, we decided to hop on DiningIn and see what all the fuss was about. Spicy Asian Pickles [$ 1.95] Pickles, chili We started off with the spicy pickles. While a pittance of a portion, they were crisp and sweet, with spice that came through on the finish. Jalapeño Brussels Sprouts [$ 4] Brussels sprouts, gluten-free soy, jalapeño I’m a brussels sprouts fiend so naturally, we had to order these. While I missed the touted heat from the jalapenos, the sprouts had nice bite and were well seasoned. Thankfully, they weren’t overly salty from the soy. Crispy Edamame Dumplings [$ 4.95] Peanut sauce The edamame dumplings were nice — incredibly crispy with a creamy essence within. They were topped with some green onions and sweet black sesame seeds. BBQ Pork Belly Sliders [$ 5.95] Steamed buns, pork belly, pineapple salsa, cilantro Regular readers know that the pork belly buns were a must order for me. The gluttonous pork was well-braised and had a lightly sweet glaze. The dish itself could have used more texture, with the soft, pliant buns rendering each bite soft on soft. I could have used more pork as well — perhaps double pork a la Momofuku? Still, the accompanying pineapple salsa and cilantro brought some bright balance to the heft of the pork. Build Your Own Tall Wok [$ 10.95] Lo mein, chicken, snow peas, mushrooms, bok choy, crispy shallots, roasted almonds, Blackgold teriyaki sauce But what is Wokworks really known for? Their stir-fried noodles! We elected to build our own, with chicken, lo mein noodles, and a mélange of various veggies. These noodles weren’t mushy at all and thankfully had life to each bite. They were well-coated with the requested Blackgold teriyaki sauce and the multitude of accompanying additions helped to create a hearty dish. Overall, Wokworks delivered an experience that was well above the standard Chinese takeout you might order on a random night. Do try their stir-fried noodles. I also wouldn’t hesitate to order the pork belly buns again!

I really, really, really like this place. Wokworks is my new most favorite fast food spot. It is such a cool idea to do fast-food wok cooking with lots of healthy ingredients. When you add in extremely friendly and helpful staff with a nice vibe atmosphere, you have a winner. My very favorite stir fry is the build-your-own with red and white quinoa. Add your protein, veggie, seasoning, and sauce and you have a tasty treat in front of you. All the sauces are great from the golden nut peanut to the pepper spicy Szechuan. But if you like spicy with flavor — order the tropicalia mango sambal. A side of jalapeño brussel sprouts in sesame oil just adds to the combo of flavours here. It is usually busy when I have been there so that it is a great sign this concept is catching on. Now just expand to my hood … and def let me take a branch of Wokworks with me back to Vienna!
