I really can’t say anything great about this place. We walked in, sat ourselves. FYI you should speak minimal spanish to order here. We were brought menus and learned that they do not serve beer. So we ordered waters and were served bottled water. I don’t like to pay for water, but I couldn’t seem to explain that in my minimal spanish, so we proceeded to order 4 bottles throughout our meal — we are big water drinkers. We ordered the Mojarra Frita(fried tilapia, skin on) and the Filete Veracruzana plus an octopus tostada. The chips seemed to have two different bags of chips mixed in to one basket. The salsa wasn’t really special and was comprised of mostly canned items, which left it lacking freshness. The tostada and filete came out at the same time. My hsuband mentioned the Mojarra and she smiled as if she knew what we were talking about. The octopus was super chewy and completely underdressed. I heard the cook asking our waiter something about putting olives into a dish, and she said«no, mija» as if that was crazy. Well, there are supposed to be olives in salsa veracruzana, and capers too. Instead I got a filet covered in some type of canned red sauce with bell peppers, canned corn, canned carrots and canned peas. Well we finished what was edible of my plate… rice and beans were nothing special. And then we waited and waited for my husband’s fish. He motioned for her to come to the table and she brought the check instead. He decided not to say anything to her and just pay it and leave. One of the best parts about going to these mariscos places is how fresh everything is… the salsas, ceviches, but this place was just bad. There are way better places in the valley to get this style of mexican!
