I’ve been coming here for years. The reviews that they don’t give you top dollar are correct, however at the same time they don’t sell it for top dollar. So that means they have great prices on their items. Affordable prices. Yes there are some days when you must return to pick up your items because there are others in front of you with bins and bins full of items. They dont reserve spots over the phone, you can see the items in front of you are still ready to be gone through. The staff has always been super friendly and nice. There are a few ladies that have been there for a few years, they are great and I’m glad they are still there. This is not some fancy posh resale shop. They are not name brand snobs, they take what’s in fashion and in good condition. You can always get store credit and you are able to use it at any of their resale shops, unlike a lot of other resale shops that make you keep your credit at that one store.

I am not sure why I have returned here, given every experience has been a bad one. I’m not even sure where to start with the complaints! First off, my boy is now 6 ½. I had heard of this place prior to even having a child. These kids grow like weeds, so I figure it nice to get a small return back on purchases that arnt usable anymore because they have outgrown it. And when I say small return, that’s exactly what you will get here. I have actually been offended by some of their prices on items I have turned in. Case in point, this past weekend, I brought in a large ikea bag stuffed full of both my sons stuff and stuff I no longer wanted(they take children & womens clothing). After a 4 hour delay in them going through it and pricing it, they took approximately 10 items, one of them being a pair of coach sneakers. Used, but still. And guess what I was given. 5BUCKS! Talk about a slap in the face. That’s probably what I paid in gas to drive from downtown to up there to drop the bag off. I don’t think I’ve ever had a pleasant experience here. I have never bought from them, only traded in and taken cash instead of credit towards purchases. EXAMPLE. If they sell the item for 10 dollars, you will get either 5 in store credit or 2.50 in cash. Pathetic right? Whats even more pathetic is that hardly anything in the store even costs 10 bucks. So you really are getting pennies back. I have 2 suggestions. First, go to Hissyfit’s before coming here. They are pickier on what they take, but they pay WAY better. And second, I would suggest only coming here if you have an infant and intend on trading in old items and purchasing new stuff with them. The cash value just isn’t worth the time and effort to bring stuff in.

I should have listened to the other reviews and stayed away. Horrible customer service. I purchased a Groupon for $ 20 that expired because when I went in to spend it they had none of the things I was looking for(but that’s okay because resale stores are hit-and-miss). However, when I went in later to spend my $ 10(face-value of the groupon) they refused to honor it. After a full hour of standing at the counter waiting for a response from the manager(who was in the back), she begrudgingly accepted it. I will never be returning. EDIT: Management reached out to me with an apology, and I think that is worth an additional star, so I changed my review from one to two stars.

I actually really like this place. Compared to other stores, you can find some designer stuff here… If you go to buffalo exchange it’s basically paying department store prices, but yeah the store could be a little better organized, I agree with everyone else.

I agree, I had a similar situation when I went to the one off of Bell and I-17. The place is a mess, the staff was rude and when I brought in stuff for consignment, they told me i could come back the NEXTDAY for my credit. When I did return they had taken one item(out of 3 big bags of hardly used or brand new baby clothes). I have bought several things from this particular store, but if you are looking for shoes, they are filthy and smell horrible, the toys have missing parts and are grungy, yet they still take them. I did go ONCE to the store off of greenway and also witnessed the women in the back(consignment area) trash talking a customer that they had an earlier conversation with. I love consignment shops for kids clothes, as a mom you learn how to make a buck stretch. but I suggest going to once upon a child off litchfield, or going to hissyfits. I would not suggest Other Mothers.

Yes, you have to dig here but the stuff is good and beyond kids — womens, mens, maternity, a wide selection of books, toys are more. The five is because the prices are the best for the selection and more so, if you are looking to resell your stuff, this places takes the most stuff at the best prices I’ve seen.

I can’t believe there aren’t 100 other reviews on here! This place was THEWORST! I will not return here nor will I reccomend it! I walked it with 2 bags full. I went to the back where there were 2 employees finishing up with another lady. I should’ve taken it as a hint when the lady said«No I’ll just take my stuff and sell it on Craigslist. I can get more out of it that way!» I stayed to wait it out. Big mistake! The lady left with her stuff. The 2 employees didn’t even acknowledge me!!! Instead they proceeded to talk crap about the lady that just left! Their exact words«What makes them think we even care? Take it or leave it. I don’t care» Hello! I was standing there! They still didn’t speak to me as I got up and left! Other mothers! You suck! Hire people who CARE… who WANT to work!!! I went to Kid To Kid on Tatum & Thunderbird… SOMUCHBETTER!

There are lots of children’s resale shops in the Valley to choose from, and I’ve been to most, but the first time I visited Other Mothers will be the last time. My first impression walking in the doors is that Goodwill has better looking stuff and in better shape. The stroller selection is decent, but a little overpriced for what you get. The clothing section of the store is a mess of tall racks that you can’t even see over and is not very enticing at all. My main gripe is that I brought in several items that were in great condition(a contrast to their selections) and I received an insulting meager amount for said items. Secondly, they are very slow at evaluating and pricing the items that I was immediately handed a pick up slip and told that I would have to come back at 4PM for my cash(It was 11AM). For an almost new, great condition baby swing, for example, don’t expect to get more than 15 bucks for it. Moments later after bringing in the rest of my items, I was then told that I would have to wait two hours more to come back and pick up my cash or credit. The reason? Because other people were bringing in stuff too. So, if you believe in first come, first served, understand that Other Mothers doesn’t believe in this simple courteous policy.
