AltaMed Medical Group – Pico Rivera, Passons

This place is very clean, quiet, they take you in quickly.
I recently had an appointment hare and the staff were fast and friendly. I waited if anything five minutes to be seen.
Not sure what Dee P is talking about since this place has
No urgent care and also No Pediatrics. I think Dee P is confused as to where she was seen. Maybe the one in Slauson.
This is a small clinic and it’s child free!
It’s what I like about the place. Parking lot is nice but small. They close at 5pm.
This clinic is across the street from El Rancho high school. They also have a pharmacy on cite that stays open till 6pm. I believe they take walk-​ins but just call to be sure.

AltaMed was assigned to me as my group from my insurance. Unfortunately AltaMed is the closest group location seeing as how I live in Whittier. My Biggest complaint is that the office mixes all their services in one office, in one waiting room and treatment rooms. So if I am scheduling for a well visit pediatric appointment we share the same waiting room for the urgent care patients which no offense are there because they are urgently ill, either no time for their health and have waited till they are disgustingly ill, or have no health care coverage and now are that ill that they are willing to pay cash.
I am sorry if this comes off as snooty but why would I want to be around these urgently ill people? Let alone my kid? The office is clean, parking lot is ghetto, employees are nice but seem and look like the only job qualification they have is that they’re bilingual which in this area demographically may be very important but when it comes to my family’s health care needs not enough. I was scheduled to see Dr. Yoo, who I never met because they sent in Dr. Perez who looked and talked like a meat head, later on when inquiring I found out he is a PA, Not to offend PAs I have seen some very good unMeathead types of PAs. oh yeah he walked into the room like chewing on food or eating something. Every single time I have spoken to a customer rep and have been told I will get a return call later that day or a return call from a DR with in 24 hrs I receive NOTHING.
So if you have ins. and pay for it and care for your health go somewhere else. If you do not have coverage and pay out of pocket or if your insurance sucks and you have no choice, this place might be for you.
I am calling my Insurance and switching to another group even if i have to drive farther it is worth it.
