You know, for fear of sounding like an old person, I’m just gonna say it, customer service just ain’t what it used to be. In my opinion, customer service can make or break an experience. So that being said, we had a great experience at The Rustler. We went there for lunch in the middle of the week. It’s small, kinda dark, has a little diner/restaurant feel to it. I was here years ago when the restaurant was called something else. It was was different, it’s better now. We were noticed & waited on right away by a server, while not looking enthused by her job, still pretty good at it. Got our drinks immediately & our food in about 10 minutes. I got the Rustler burger which was a burger coated in buffalo sauce with jalapenos. It was pretty good, better then expected. For the price & the amount of food we got, I thought it was reasonable. In a small town where there are probably more restaurants then are necessary, this one is a pretty good option. It is really refreshing to go to a place that thinks of the little things that make a restaurant experience good. It’s called hospitality & it isn’t a bad word other restaurants. It’s asking someone who is leaving with a to-go box if they need silverware. It’s having candy at the register in case you want a piece on your way out. You don’t see that & that actually makes me kind of sad. It’s ok to spend a little extra time on a customer or have a good attitude. Let’s travel back to the olden times, kids… when doing something to earn a tip was important.

This place has great character and standard all-American diner fare. The kinds enjoyed their meals. Our tenderloin sandwich was a big as a steering wheel. The patty melt was a little greasy but a fine lunch. Service was attentive and sincere. I would come back for sure!
