HB’s Place

Nice people working there, but not impressed with the lunch/​dinner menu. My sandwich was small for a $ 10 sandwich & sloppily put together with low quality bread & cheese. The cheese on it was a terrible tasting white processed cheese that I wouldn’t feed my cat. I only ate half my sandwich because I paid so much for it.

I ordered a side salad, the vegetables came out cold and crispy, the home made ranch dressing is just like the one I make at home, very nice. The chicken fingers for my main course came out piping hot and crispy.

Classic mom and pop place. Simple menu but great food. Staff is polite and helpful. I wouldn’t be surprised if it is a family run joint. Had the turkey melt. It was tasty! My whole family went and they all loved it too! It will be a regular place to visit when in Pine.

My family absolutely loves this place when we come up to our cabin! Service is amazing and we know that the food will always be good!
Last couple of times we seem to be just barely making it through the door on their Friday fish fry. We feel terrible for being some of the last people in the restaurant, but they never rush us. We are always treated like royalty.
The people who work here are so sweet, and kind. They seem to actually care about you as a customer. They will definitely go the extra mile to make you smile.
Everything is clean!!! I’m a huge cleaning buff and this place did not even have a speck of dust anywhere. Because we have gone to other places in Pine and the rest do not even compare to HB’s. We found out they stay for at least 3 hours after closing to make sure everything is clean and ready for the next morning. I mean that is some dedication right there!!!
My family are huge patriots and we really appreciate how patriotic the décor is.
Sheri is amazing!!! She is one of the many reasons we keep coming back. She is following in her parents (HB and Marilyn’s) footsteps and is now the current owner. She follows all of Marilyn’s pie recipes. The desserts are to die for by the way!!!
We love this place, the food, the employees, and the atmosphere!!! My family and I definitely recommend this place to anyone who really want to enjoy the meal and have an amazing time. HB’s is the best place in town for sure!!!

HBs!!! What a classy place! Sherry was amazing. We came in right before close and she took super good care of us! There is positive energy all over… you have to stop here if your in Pine! Thanks for making our day!!! Yummy!!!

This place was really cute, great service! I’m a extremely picky eater and the food was pretty good and my family was all happy!

So I was staying in strawberry and wanted breakfast before heading to overland expo 2015.
Stopped here and was very happy I did. The place is true Americana in every way. Red white and blue .
Food was great and cheap :)!
Service was better. Young polite man very attentive .
Bathrooms were immaculate. As was the diner. Liked it so much stopped for late lunch on way out.
Got lucky same server was there !
I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone !

HORRIBLE. Sorry but our food tasted like they went out back and cooked up their garbage from the night before. We heard the microwave a few times too. That’s never a good sign.

Went for breakfast and ordered the Spanish Omelette. Service was ok, but not over the top great. Omelette was good! I would go again.

The previous reviews were very generous with ratings — this diner is mediocre at best. Service was good and the food was just ok, no seasoning, just meat, bread, chips on a plate and little else.

Really good food for lunch — and the BEST desserts! Burgers & tacos were good. The desserts — all home made — were outstanding, just like your grandma used to make ;) And all served by the friendliest staff you can imagine. We were treated like treasured family members. This is a great place!

Eclectic place with home cooked food. Red white and blue USA décor and friendly staff. Had chicken fried steak and of course their famous shake, generous portions. Enjoyed our meals.
Took away one star as cash only accepted and of course the closest bank is in Payson.

HB’s has the best pies this side of the Mississippi! Marilyn helped us and she was the sweetest. This place is a must stop for anyone traveling through Pine.

We stayed in Strawberry for a few nights and went to HB’S place two times. Both time we were greeted by friendly folks and the food was excellent. A true family feel with great cooking to match. We will be back.

Decent food, good fries, fast and friendly service. Very patriotic and homey style. I thought the low cal plate was a local plate with local food cuz it is spelled lo-​cal not low-​cal… Nope it’s a low calorie plate with chicken, boiled eggs, fresh veggies, cottage cheese, watermelon and jello! Haha It was actually pretty good. Especially the watermelon.
