I don’t know if they changed their name of the restaurant. As I read below that they have new owners. The name I found on was Phở’ Xe Lua Vietnamese Restaurant and the address is the same. It was Mother’s Day and my family decided to eat Vietnamese. We were very disappointed with the food and the service. We were the only family along with another family who had already been there. I would think that the service would have been much better. I had Vietnamese food several times to be able to tell how the food should taste like. I did not like the taste at all. I have been to another Vietnamese restaurant and the food served was much better in texture and presentation. The shrimp was overcooked and not the amount that should have been in the meals we ordered. I cannot rate this restaurant except for a one star.

New owner maybe a few months ago. Sucky phở and sucky springrolls. Why do people open restaurant and serve lousy food? Especially there’s a much better place to get food within a mile.

Another forgettable experience in the adventure for a good bowl of Phở in the Tampa area. I’ll admit, this place was love at first sight. But like most times I’ve thought I was in love, once I got to know the place I was disappointed. The place was dead for lunchtime. Only 2 other customers sat in the large space, and nobody else came in except the apparent DJ collecting his sound equipment from the stage. The atmosphere was bleak, only a flat panel tv removed from the wall and set upon some speakers played the news on full volume. The 1 server was there. No expression, no conversion, wearing clothes far too small for appropriate. I started with the Crispy Spring Rolls. These might have been the best Spring Rolls yet in Tampa but they were served with what tasted like Mae Ploy straight from the bottle. Major shortcut, major fail. Next I had the Phở with meatballs, Brisket, Flank, and Skirt. The flank was far too tough, the meatballs were gummy(i.e. far too much egg or binder), and the brisket was tender but barely evident as a participant. The broth was average, nothing jumped out at me, but like others in Tampa the noodles were soggy and flavorless. I won’t be returning.

I’m not a phở expert but the food here is tasty. I have to have it at least once a week.

I’m from northeast and I have only been to one other vietnamese restaurant in the area where I was underwhelmed by the Phở. This place had good size phở with healthy dose of meats, tripes, meat balls, and other goodies. I still prefer any phở place in northwest though, but for this area it’s 4 star in my book.
