Delicious and excellent tacos. This place looks like it was made from an old motel. But the food was excellent. The chorizo tacos I especially recommend.

Delicious food, friendly staff, quick service and affordable prices. We almost did not stop because of the exterior of the building. So glad we decided to go in. The inside was a little dated but the experience and food were great! Hope we can go back again before we leave town!

I usually come here once a week because I love their food and the place! Their prices are also great for the amount of food and the quality. Their chorizo tacos are amazing, and their portions are so generous I always end up taking home a ton of left overs. Besides, their magnificent tacos, I love their queso fundido(real melted cheese) topped with chorizo, their horchata(rice drink) it’s perfect no to sweet and you get a refill. If you go with other people you need to try the«la tablita» it supposed to be for 2 people but you can easily feed more, as an appetizer they serve the queso fundido. La tablita, has everything from chicken enchiladas, ranchero beans, yellow rice, pico, guac, steak and the most delicious season grill pork of your life, I skip the steak and only get pork. Then to finish my meal I like to get their fried ice cream, it’s crunchy and caramelized on the outside and cold and creamy center, so simple, yet so delicious. In my opinion the best in Tampa bay and if you can’t believe it, you need to go and try it.

I came here for lunch with high expectations after seeing all the good reviews. The service was great. The food came out quickly. But I wasn’t too pleased with my tacos. They were just lacking in flavor. Their guacamole also looked very unappetizing; it was dark green and had no texture. It looked like the packaged guac you buy in stores. I did like their chips and salsa though. The first basket is free. Every place I’ve gone to has bottomless chips and salsa so this was surprising to me.

Great authentic mexican spot. Staff is friendly. Sketchy looking from the outside but overall a good experience for a good price. Chips and salsa are great. Try to go at least 1x a month — better than Taco Bus, in my opinion :)

The place looks very sketchy when you arrive. I think it might be a old motel turned into a restaurant. Even the inside looks a bit odd, none of the tables or chairs match. You can tell they put whatever they had together, even my husband and I noticed some of the benches and lights are from an old Outback store. Besides that, the food is so delicious! I typically get a wet burrito and I try to eat every last bite, it is so good. Great place for great Mexican food.

Great salsa and the owner is a great guy. Very friendly. Our waitress was a different story… not attentive, never brought the queso chorizo we ordered, never refilled our salsa or drinks… and food took forever. It was good once we got it but insanely poor service.

The reviews for this place set us up for high expectations… and unfortunately, we left underwhelmed and disappointed. The food is seriously overpriced for what you get. Fish tacos are more like fish sticks, bland and dry. The Carne asada taco had very little meat. The chicken quesadilla was nothing special. The stand outs at our table were the hard shell tacos(shells were super fresh) and, believe it or not, the French fries(also made in house). So, the food was average or below, and the service was S-L-O-W and not super friendly.

Best. Fish Tacos. Ever. I am absolutely in love with this authentically delicious establishment! We have friends who live locally in the area and we headed here for some last evening grub after class and we love it! It looks like an old motel turned restaurant when you’re looking out for the place, just look for the motel shaped place and head inside! +They have the best fish tacos I have found so far in the Tampa/St.Pete’s/Clearwater area! +Their mild salsa is perfect for a spicy-sensitive person like myself + Guac is delish — Was sad to find on the bill it was an extra charge for a chips/salsa refill… seems odd when you really are not given that much and usually it’s refills at other places. +They do speedy & delish takeout, I grab the Fish Tacos(about $ 3 each) & head home in a jiffy! We had their burritos as well, and it was enough for me to take leftovers home! Staff was friendly, we shall be back a few more times when we are in the area!

Our friend took us here and we loved it! It is located in an old hotel but don’t let that deter you. The tacos are awesome! They have quite a large menu selection with all the typical selections and they excel at everything I’ve had. The first round of chips and salsa are free and 1.50 for a refill. The salsa is fantastic. It has excellent flavor and not much heat. I usually like spicy/hot but the flavor is great enough that it doesn’t need anything else. The tacos are very affordable, and this allows you to mix, match, or try something new. The service has always been prompt and friendly. Stop in and eat more tacos!

I really came into Señor Taco with higher expectations, just based on word of mouth from coworkers. This place is located inside an old motel off Park Blvd.; so its definitely a different type of eating experience to begin with. The salsa is pretty good here, just could always use more chips! My wife and I tried to ask for 2nds but we could never find our waitress. This type of thing doesn’t bother me having worked in restaurants in the past. The place looked like it only had 2 servers working. We are relaxed people, so I just drank my Dos XX and enjoyed my wife’s company! The Mayan pork taco was the better of the 3 tacos I tried. It was super juicy and full of flavor! Very good taco! The carne Asada was a little dry and bland, not the best. The fish taco I question the freshness, since it tasted similar to those Captain D’s frozen fish fillets from the grocery store. It still had this awesome aioli sauce on it that made that feeling not diminish. This was still a good taco otherwise. I’d like to come back and try their burritos! They look very delicious here and I believe it’s the better of their items on the menu. Overall, decent Mexican food, but with sub par service. If the second go-round is better than the first, I’ll forget about my initial experience

This place is a hidden gem. The area might make you want to find somewhere else, don’t!!! Go in and get the Mayan Pork ANYTHING! Taco, burrito, whatever mood you’re in. It is unreal. I also love that their fish tacos are made very, very fresh, breaded that minute, with a fantastic sauce on top. Another favorite is a Wet Mayan Pork Burrito. Perfect size to eat the whole thing and not feel overwhelmed with it. Eat here ASAP. You won’t regret it.

My husband and I have been here a few times. We found this hidden gym about a year or so ago looking on Unilocal. We love coming to this place. It is in a converted old motel. It looks a bit shady but you have to stop and check it out. I always go with the wet burritos. Amazing. The chips and salsa is always fresh. The burrito is the size of the plate and very filling. But they are so good I almost always end up eating the entire thing and being stuffed by the end of dinner. I have had their sangria and found it very refreshing and delicious. The prices are on point with other Mexican restaurants. We have a Mexican place right up the street from us but we always make the extra effort to come here or D’Mexican. If you want awesome Mexican, do yourself a favor and check this place out. You can’t go wrong with anything here.

First time customer. Carnitas taco: 4 stars Beef canoa: 4 stars Chicken fingers: 5 stars Chicken quesadilla: 4 stars Fried ice cream: 5 stars The place is very comfy and service is good :) The taco was vey good. I liked the tortilla very much(authentic homemade flavor). Meat well seasoned. My complain is not much meat. I have been to other places in which they provide more meat. The canoa or canoe is very good. FYI, this is not a Mexican dish but Puerto Rican. Is really good with a Mexican twist :) Chicken fingers are amazing. I ordered that for my son and we fought over it(yeah, yeah… I am a lousy dad!) The texture is really good. Chicken quesadilla was ok for me but my daughter really liked it(she is a picky eater). Fried ice cream is very-very good. It has a different twist. The ice cream is not fried(pretty sure not fried) but is breaded with corn flakes. The dessert comes in a nest of fried dough and is amazing!!! I posted a picture. Nice twist. If you visit this place you must have it. I have had traditional fried ice cream before and this one made my top three!

So I had wanted to eat lunch at as many sketchy ethnic restaurants as possible on this trip… and this really fit the bill. It looks like the kind of motel where hookers go to overdose. It’s a pretty normal casual non-chain Mexican atmosphere one you walk in. The salsa was really flavorful and different, and the green sauce is a little spicy. Tacos are amazing, I got Mayan pork and chicken and took a bite of hub’s shrimp. I’d recommend any of them. Not at all crowded or busy on Saturday lunch. Service was a little slow.

5 Stars for the outrageously delicious food Ok, sure this restaurant is in an old abandoned motel and yes, it doesn’t have a live mariachi band. Also, the rumors about piñata parties probably aren’t true but is that any reason to snub your nose at this incredibly delicious and affordable Mexican joint??? I think not! With that being said, I’ll step you through it: 1. Park, walk down the sidewalk to your room. err, the door to the restaurant 2. After your inside and seated order a house sangria or a Negra Modelo. Either is a great pairing to the free chips and salsa that will be arriving with your drink. 3. Peruse over the menu and then order a ‘Wet Mayan Pork Burrito’ with everything included. 4. Eat ½ of the burrito and take the other half home as it’ll be great around 2am straight from the fridge and out of the microwave 5. Choose either the flan or the fried ice cream for dessert. That’s it. Five simple steps to deliciousness.

We’ve stopped in a few times for lunch and haven’t been disappointed yet. Like others have mentioned, don’t be fooled by the exterior. It’s basically an old motel turned Mexican restaurant. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by friendly staff. The trick is to try and beat the lunch rush, especially on their deal days($ 1 Beef Taco Tuesdays, Enchilada Wednesdays, Shreddin’ Thursdays, and Caribbean Fridays). The chips were fresh and the salsa was tasty. My friends thought the green sauce had just enough heat, I stick to the plain sauce. The specials are a good deal if that’s what you are craving, but I usually order off the menu. Today’s choice was the Costena Quesadilla: 2 flour tortillas covered with cheese and carne asada steak, grilled with mild green salsa and sour cream on top. Yummy! The steak was seasoned just right and grilled perfectly. It was a good size for me, but I also had chips and salsa. Might be a bit small for those with bigger appetites. A side might come in handy. My co-worker ordered a Carnitas Torta and that was pretty tasty and includes fries for $ 6.85! My other co-worker had the special, $ 1 beef tacos, served on corn shells, topped with onions, cilantro and salsa. Everything was fresh and tasty. No complaints here. Our to-go orders have always been right. The food always has such a good flavor and staff are always pleasant. Will definitely be stopping in again!

When we first moved into pinellas park we tried this place due to the ratings. I have learn that ratings are subjective to the taste and perceptions of the person eating. What one person considers great can be bad to another. The staff I will say we’re very prompt and cheerful to help you, if you’re undecided. I am often undecided due to the fact I find food hard to choose. Everything looks good on the menu and screaming taste me. Let’s get to the food part, which is the most important part of the review. I am a fan of the Mexican cuisine hence why I chose to come here. I had chosen to eat chicken enchiladas with green sauce and my boyfriend the taco with steak if I remember correctly. My meal came out in good timing but I was not impressed with the meal in that it tasted bland and overly cheesy. I am not a fan of too much cheese to me being lacto intolerance. The appearance of the outside can take you back because it looks like it is a motel and not a restaurant. The inside was decorated good no complaints. In the end it is your choice to choose where you want to go and take a chance on the food. Everybody is different on how they like their things prepared.

My favorite Mexican around this area. It’s located on the corner of the block but it might be a little hard to recognize since it looks like an old motel building(which it probably was). It’s that slightly shady hole in the wall restaurant everyone is always looking for. But once you go inside, it’s a really quaint place. We’ve been here multiple times and tried out a lot of different things. They bring you chips and homemade salsa right when you sit down. After you order, the food came in under ten minutes. We’ve been when it’s busy and it’s slow and it’s never a long wait. Have no complaints since the food is sooo good. It’s cooked and seasoned perfectly. The food is reasonably priced and considering the quality you get(almost all of it is homemade), it’s a bargain. We usually spend around $ 20, which includes appetizer, main dish and a few tacos. It’s a homemade soft shell corn tortilla with whatever filling you want. You can get a bunch since they’re so cheap. On top of that, we usually get the daily special. I really like the service here. I usually see the two same servers working. They’re definitely hard working and treat you right. The servers make sure they check up on you often and they’ve never messed up my order. Overall, it’s such a nice Mexican restaurant with really good food. I always recommend it when others ask for a good Mexican restaurant around town.

Best make-over of a crappy little motel ever? First, this is not Tex-Mex, nor likely the other good authentic Mexican food you are used to. The food here has a definite Mayan/Yucatan-style Mexican flavor profile, and that’s a very good thing. All of the Mayan wall art and statues gave me a big hint before I even ordered… Just their simple ground beef tacos have a nice flavor that’s unique and different than other good authentic Mexican restaurants in our area. The refried beans are great too. I always use this as my baseline to judge any type of Mexican food. If you can’t pull off simple«frijoles refritos,» what hope is there for other more complex dishes? But the main draw here for me is the conchinita: Mayan shredded pork. It’s really, really good and has given me reason to visit several times just to enjoy it again. Finally, the parking is very limited and can become a hassle at peak times. This has caused me to resort to just grabbing take-out to get my fix. No worries… Their conchinita and other unique dishes are sooo good, it’s worth the minor hassle…

Haha, guys! Very funny… I just got Taco Bussed by Tampa Bay Unilocalers. That also includes being suckered into ordering the expensive $ 30.00 La Tablita; a platter of dry and tough cheap cuts of pork and steak with some neon yellow rice in the middle. Lettuce on the side and a sour cream covered soggy pile of something wrapped around squishy chicken. I am actually a fan of beef jerky, but this was not even flavorful. Maybe you like the food here because it is Texas or California style? Their salsa was good, but they are very stingy with the complimentary chips and salsa. For a table of four, we asked and were never brought and second helping. Also, very stingy with their tortillas— I would have to face Oaxaca and pray to the Zapotec gods for a few more tortillas, because I will not be getting them at Señor Taco. The melted cheese covered in chorizo was covered in the typical orange layer of grease, and definitely not worth $ 8.95. The only thing that I actually liked at Señor Taco was the Horchata, which was the perfect consistency and sweetness. Overpriced, like everything else they serve at $ 2.00/glass with an additional charge for refills. Sorry folks, I eat cheap and delicious Mexican food all the time south of the Skyway and cannot justify eating at Señor Taco again. I’ve been punked. Unfortunately, I left Señor Taco with more questions than answers.

First impressions: it’s an old motel. It looks a little sketchy. Don’t fear. The inside is bright and friendly. We felt welcome the second we opened the door. That’s huge on my list. The booths are not bad. I ordered a wet chicken burrito and Dom ordered tacos(pork, steak, chicken). My burrito was delicious. I don’t think u would get the chicken again, but it was good. Steak next time. Dom’s tacos were all delicious. He ordered extra cilantro and lime. They were great, especially the steak. For desert we ordered the fried ice cream and Churros. The Churros were ok, and the fried ice cream was amazing. I will be back! It was all really delicious! Stop in and take a chance!!! I would have given 5 stars if a small side came with the burrito, and the ice cream had more honey. I’m picky, so don’t let that scare you away!

Sketch hole in the wall — check! Spanish family owned and operated — check! Authentic homemade Spanish food from a super secret family recipe — DOUBLECHECK! The owner was there cashing us out talking to us about how she cooks the food and she was amazing and really sweet. Sorry Taco Bus, but you take a back seat to this restaurant. The difference is night and day. This is more ‘authentic’ mexican food. Taco Bus is more Americanized. How do I know? Because I’m Spanish, I’ve eaten tacos all my life, I cook my own street tacos weekly, I LOOOVE tacos. I ordered the vegetarian taco pobres and the fish tacos which I think they only serve Friday nights. Both were amazing though the fish tacos stole the show. Writing this review makes me want to go back now. The downsides are: no alcohol(but now you know going in, so you can’t complain ;-)) and the service can honestly be hit or miss. Nothing about this place is fast so do not come in a hurry to eat here. I used the word sketch to describe the place but it is completely safe. I saw families with you kids there and it is not in an unsafe area. What makes it seem sketch is that this place was one of those dumpy horrible motels that most people would not choose to go. But it is casual and comfortable inside.
