Thanks very much to Unilocal for removing the four other incorrect listings for the Cradle of Forestry in America Interpretive Association [http://cfaia.org] which operates a small office location at the junction of US276 and US64 near the entrance to the Pisgah National Forest. Unfortunately, Unilocal has now combined this correct listing with the listing for the Cradle of Forestry Discovery Center [ .com] which is the historic site of America’s first school of forestry located 11 miles further north on US276. There really isn’t much to see or do at the Cradle of Forestry in America Interpretive Association office, but the Cradle of Forestry Discovery Center is a wonderful place to learn about the history of forest conservation.

This is such a great place. They have a museum, restaurant, and a great picnic area. Most important they have GREAT backpacking trails. Great Views! We just got back from a backpacking trip there and had an amazing time. LOVEDIT!!! Quiet, Peaceful, and Beautiful!!! We will definitely be back! I can’t wait to go back!!! A delightful place to take a stroll. Inside, there is a very retro interpretive center. The outside walks are like an outdoor museum with information about forestry and the first forestry school. It’s wheelchair accessible, and a great place to take little children. It’s not mentioned on the website, but there is a café on the premises. I had an excellent bacon, lettuce and fried green tomato sandwich there with a side salad for $ 10. The coffee was good too!
