Three stars for being run down, cluttered and having moldy ube ensaymada. But, they get an extra star for carrying Filipino hot dogs for my spaghetti. Even the stores in L.A. don’t have those. You can get frozen lumpia here too.

The sign on their door says they open at 10AM. I was there at 10 and waited 10 minutes before leaving. I had some dairy products in my car and didn’t want to wait around too long. As I was leaving, someone pulled up to open the place, so I drove back around and went in. There were two people ahead of me and the guy behind the counter was helping an older woman and when the phone rang, he picked up and was talking to the person on the phone. Meantime I am still waiting in line and gave up after a few minutes because I really didn’t want the dairy products to get any warmer sitting in my car. This is the only place I can find my black rice, but I noticed that the prices on the Jasmine rice were not any cheaper than you can get at Vons. I’d recommend going here first, before doing any other grocery shopping, especially if you need to get cold products and don’t want them to melt. I’ve only been here one time before and it was in the middle of the day. I was able to get in and out that time, but bummed to have made a trip out and waited around for nothing this time. They have a TON of stuff packed into a small space! You can probably find whatever you need here.

Debu is awesome. Every type of noodle from wheat soba to rice to sweet/potato yam noodles. The range of jar sauces(soy, fish, oyster, black bean, hot chili oil) are legit. Tons of Goldilock’s bakery items, nuts, Hi-Chews, sesame paste. Great selection of coconut creams and milks.

I love this place, especially on fresh vegetable Fridays. Fresh veggies, authentic spices and noodles to fulfill all your needs the areas larger grocery stores are missing.

Wow — they weren’t kidding! This place is TINY. But they pack a lot of items into this place. I decided to surprise my husband and make him sushi(first time!) There were a few items I couldn’t find and they were helpful(after some confusion do to a language barrier). Prices are cheap too and they take credit cards. Love supporting these tiny, local businesses! I’ll be back for sure!

BALUT! ALERT! BALUT! ALERT! THEYHAVEFRESHBALUT on FRIDAYS! With the blessing & instructions of both«Mom» De Bu & scary U-Tub Videos, plus a ample supply of both some Fine Italian Beer & fine French Rose Champagne… I finally got the guts & spine(pun intended) to finally crack open & gingerly/carefully EAT A PARTIALLYFORMEDDUCKEMBRYOSACK… now I can call myself a «REALMAN»…I even LIKEDIT… I WILLBEBACK! But NOT for a BIGMACK. for more ULTRA-ETHNICFOOD… but I still think Durians are yucky …since I rather have an Embryo Ducky! If you ever had even a passing interest in Embryology… dissect a BALUT! You may get a 21-gun SALUT! But please, oh please, chase it with beer down the Gullet, & not with a Mullet! Sautéed Sweet Potato Leaves, Ong Choy, or Baby Bok Choy go well with this too… I LOVEDEBU for Super-Filipina /Asian Ethnic Food that is both fresh & low cost which is so true !!! :) (My rhyming is so off… could it be the BALUT… or the ABSOLUT?)

This is the local Filipino market. If it is Filipino and you want it this is the place. It is truly like stepping into another world. If you want Vons or Albertsons, just move on. If you want Filipino /Asian this is the place. That should be enough for those who need to know what to do here! (I just noticed all the other five star ratings and they too are all correct!)

Asian store in the middle of the central coast! It’s a cute place where they can fry fish and have a shipment of Asian veggies once a week. The last time I went there, though, the store was super hot… They need to ventilate the place so the products don’t spoil.

I rarely give out 5-stars because I’m really picky about my reviews. BUT this little store is «As good as it gets!» in the central coast. I’m from Orange County, the homeland of the Asian Mall, Civics, Phở, inconsiderate Viet shoppers at the asian stores, Korean BBQ… yum… anywho, this place is a goldmine here. I’d have to say I was more impressed here than the one in SLO. But the only downfall is they only have their«special items» on Friday. Bummer. It is a great place to check out if you need to restock on your Asian essentials. This place brings back good childhood memories and a homesick feeling of mom’s home-cooked food…(sigh)

Small cute Asian/Oriental grocery store. Prices are low and they really pack a variety of products in a small store. They also have some frozen foods and they have a small produce section(FYI — new produce comes in on Friday, but they still have produce every day of the week! Call ahead if you are looking for a special item and they will tell you if they have it in or not). They carry a lot of Filipino products, some Korean, Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese, and probably other Asian products(I’m going from memory here.) Also they have ready made food to go and bakery goodies ready to eat. The store is small and simple and packed to max. The sign on the front of the store is barely visible and you will pass it easily if you don’t slow down. You can tell the store has been there a very long time, and that is probably why their prices are low.(It is near a Real Estate office.) Overall come here for the variety, and the lower prices. Five stars for the low prices!
