Esteem is what got me hooked on the surf lifestyle. Got my first couple boards here. And always supported there local clothing brand. One thing I can say about there clothes is its not like a smaller company were the charge a lot for a item and the quality is bad. The quality of there stuff has always been top notch and seems to be getting better. I’ve had shirts that I haven’t lost last me 5 years + and still standing strong. Robbie and his crew there have always been helpful and pleasant to work with. Very chill vibe in the shop. They do support the local scene a lot which is what makes them, them.
The only thing I can complain about is since I don’t get to make it to Pismo as often anymore, my esteem clothing collection has gone down I wish they would update there website to have new and available stuff so I could gear up. Besides that keep up the good work guys thanks!

This shop is really cool. Its the friendliest surf shop in Pismo. You will be hard pressed to find cooler people in town. Even though i didnt get any lessons the teachers seemed super friendly and i wouldn’t hesitate to get lessons here.

The people were super friendly and fun to work with.
We were 2 young adults who did a private lesson with them. The teacher of our lesson worked at our pace and took to time to make sure we had fun.
I called around to a few different places and thought they had the best price for our money. I would definitely do a lesson again with them in the future!

Purchased a Boardworks Mini Mod at Esteem Last week. Was Charged $ 50.00 for a set of Black Plastic FCS2 fins. After looking at Boardworks online and calling the company direct they informed me all the boards they sell come with fins at no extra charge.
I went back to Esteem to clarify and they still went ahead and told me the boardworks boards do not come with fins. Got my money back after calling out the charge for fins, but would advise others to be careful when purchasing something from these guys. They were very dishonest with me, and would not recommend Esteem to anyone I know because of that.

This shop is awesome, they have excellent customer service! I was in Esteem on Saturday afternoon 8÷30÷14. Their staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They helped me pick out the perfect surfboard. I was wanting to transition down from a 9′-2″ to a shortboard. The staff introduced me to a 5′-10″ mini mod by boardworks. I was a little worried about such a huge drop in size but I was able to catch 15+ waves with no issues. This board has already grabbed a lot of attention, Im pointing people your way!

Went to Esteem yesterday and bought a Ben Aipa 7′ 6″ Surfboard from Bret, who was awesome!!! He took his time with me and explained everything about the board. He hooked me up with the correct leash and Bryan W. set me up with the correct fins for my board. They were so great I even purchased a bag for my board! Bought a wet suit a few months ago from the owner «Robby» who showed me three different suits but never tried to sell me the most expensive. Give them 6 stars, this place is a Class Act!!!

Having watched the genesis of Esteem from a t-​shirt line in the old Pancho’s, I am honored to call this my «home store.» When in need of anything related to riding waves, Robbie has yet to disappoint. He’s introduced me to new manufacturers, made sure I look good both in the office and out with the fam, ensured I was outfitted from head to toe as a walking billboard for his uniquely stoked-​out brand, and basically made me (as well as others) feel a part of something much bigger than any mere surf shop could achieve… No, Esteem is community. Esteem is family.

Esteem is a surf shop that is also building it’s own clothing brand that expresses the vibes of California’s Central Coast. Robbie, the owner and avid surfer is one of the friendliest people around. Robbie’s family has history in the area the goes further back than the Spanish settlers; the idea of the clothing is rooted in that spirit. Esteem is a big supporter of the local Surf, Skate and Music community so part of your business will be supporting that as well. If you’re on vacation and want to pick something up that is uniquely Pismo Beach without being that person who has a «Pismo Beach» T-​Shirt on, go to Esteem! Everyone who knows Pismo will know the brand and you’ll be spreading the local vibe far and wide! My favorite hoodie of all time is from Esteem.
In addition to their own stuff Esteem has a good selection of Surf/​Skate Boards, Decks, Clothing, an awesome selection of sandals and other periphs like watches, wax, stickers. If you’re in Pismo, they are definitely worth a stop-​in-​say-​hi, you won’t be disappointed.

This store is awesome. They have a good selection of skateboards — including the classic Santa Cruz 80’s decks. My brother-​in-​law bought 3 (he’s a collector).
I also found an extra large hat to fit my extra large head. I never get to wear hats.
The guy that worked there ended up giving us all sorts of freebies. He said they aren’t promotional items but he can give them away to people he likes. We walked out with about 10 trucker hats and 5 beanies — all marked at $ 9.99 each. Score!
